Socialism o Capitalism | Started by: AntiPuppet on Feb 10, '20 04:15 |
I view capitalism as the bread is waiting for me and with socialism, I got to wait for the bread. Your thoughts. |

“Laissez-faire capitalism is the only social system based on the recognition of individual rights and, therefore, the only system that bans force from social relationships.” |

It is important to define the terms. Socialism is the government control of production. When most US people say they are in favor of Socialism they mean a capitalist economy with large, government-ran social programs. This is not socialism. Socialism has never worked.

Socialism looks perfect on paper but fails overtime every time. Well capitalism isn’t a guaranteed success it will be solid for the long haul

Social policies are, for many individuals, their only way of surviving comfortably at the level of economic production they're capable of participating in. Capitalism, to its credit, is the only reason those social policies are now feasible. |

Social programs function in a way that require people to become dependent on them. Instead of being a stop-loss to help someone fallen on hard times to survive... it has become a method of sustainability. One party is using this to grow their base, making people dependent on the government to provide for them. It's not about bettering someones quality of life, it's ensuring that they are dependent on you to continue to provide you power. |

My question is if Bernie is a true socialist or not? Things he has stated in his past would suggest he is, but seems to now be trying to soften his edges a bit to gain a more broader appeal. Yet he has not come out refuting any of his past stated beliefs.

I figured there would be a lot of ignorant responses here, but for the most part was surprised that the concepts are generally understood. Either in their pure form are destined to fail. A mixture of both has shown to be the most successful approach, which is the system implemented by most modern democracies.

Its simple really...its like tea. Capitalism is the tea with water. Socialism is the hint of milk in it. And it's pretty good. |
