Easy Cash
“You boys fucking ready?” I say as I say in the back of a Van, dressed in a black boiler suit, leather gloves and a black mask. My associates nod in agreement, 2 cleaning their weapons and the other looking around. “There’s no turning back now. We know the plan? F you’re on crowd control. J You help me clear the floor. And M your on the door. Anyone walks in control them.” The van slowly pulls up and we all hop out, looking up at the sign that reads: Gergios Fine Jewels. Wasting no time I barge through the door and aim my pistol in front of me, walking straight to the counter as my associates do their jobs to a T. Dong I slam my gun against the glass display cases and start filling a bag full of jewellery, moving on one after the others just SMASH SMASH Cleaning out the whole store.
“DOWN FLOOR NOW” M screamed as a civilian walks through the door, they drop as I turn and head for the door, and as I get there a man stands up, pistol in hand screaming “HANDS UP! DONT FUCKING MOVE.” Everyone’s survival instinct kicks in and as I spin M and F start blasting, I pull the trigger and unload my clip, then silence. Nothing. We all look at each other and know it’s time to leave. The door swung open and the van peeled off.
A unknown man. Dead. Trying to be a hero, this isn’t know I wanted this job to go, and now...now I know shits about to get difficult. |

SKRRRRT The van swerved left then took a sharp right, slowing down and pulling up to an abandoned building on the riverside. I hopped out of the back and threw my mask down on the floor. “FUCK FUCK FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT BULLSHIT FUCK!” I scream, the fucking here, why does someone always gotta be the hero? This is real life. And In real life we all know the hero never lives. “Okay okay...guns! Guns now!” I say gathering up all the guns. I disassemble them, placing them each in my mask and tying it off, “Okay, we got this. Listen to me. You guys lay low, not a fucking word if this okay? Or so help me god you will end up in this fucking river.” I say to the men as I dump the guns into the river. “Get the fuck gone. The jewellery stays, M will have all your splits by the end of the week.” The men walk towards a car and drive off, lights off and into darkness, I grab the gas canisters from the trunk and undress, the boilersuit. Covering up a fresh black suit, was thrown in to the rear of the van.
Pouring gas all into the back then around to the driver seat my mind races. What if I killed a cop? Or a fucking connected guy? I’d be fucked in either case. I place one can on the driver seat and the other in the rear, I light a cigarette, grab the jewellery and lighting up the gas trail. SWOOSH The gas ignites as I climb into my nearby parked car, black in colour with slight tints. I drive away and to the bar I had been living at.
Arriving at the bar I park the car and walk towards the door, keys and jewellery in hand, the door slowly opens as I push against it with my back, straight in and to the bar, tonight it was closed, thankfully, I grab the telephone and radio, switching on the news and getting ready to dial my family if it’s needed.
Will the hero be my worst nightmare? The fuck would I do if he was a cop? This jewellery might be too hot... |

Sitting there. Waiting. And just listening to the radio, taking afew sips of the whiskey that was behind the bar, just waiting for that news announcement. “Breaking news. Jewellery store heist turned to a murder scene here tonight at Gergios Fine jewels. Witnesses report there was atleast 3 armed men who stormed the business this afternoon. Making off with an estimated $250,000 in jewellery, a Man, who was confirmed to be a local hoodlum from Seattle is the body police found on this here crime scene. Witnesses report he tried to kill the robbers but was slain in cold blood. The perpetrators are still at large!.” Finally the fucking news! It wasn’t a connected guy or a police officer, thank fuck. Cos I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done, now time to make the needed phone calls. I met a man once whilst doing a job with a fellow family member who I could sell the jewellery to, I grab the phone and a cigarette and light it up, taking a drag and dialling the number in the phone. “Good evening sir. Yes it’s Savino, I got more business for you, yeah some more gifts for your wife sir. Of course I’ll be there in the morning, yes. Uhuh yes sir all fresh in stock. Thank you sir. I’ll see you then.”
he said he will take a look. I know he has the money so I won’t take no less than $200,000, news reports tend to blow numbers up after all, I go into the back room of the bar and sit down, taking more puffs on my cigarette, just sitting there thinking. Looks like lady lucky was with me today, let’s hops she’s with me tomorrow. Things are starting to look up for me now after leaving Italy. Who knows what next thing we will be robbing. |

Savinos foot hits the door handle and steps out of his car with the jewellery stuffed bag in hand, he closes the door to his black sedan and proceeded to walk into a building, the guard on the door gives him no trouble as he walks up a flight of stairs then into a red oak door, stepping through he closes the door and walks to the desk where a gentleman he had met before sat behind it with a cigar in hand and one ready for Savino on the desk. Savino takes a seat and places his hat beside him. He grabs the cigar and lights it up and places the bag on the desk, taking a few puffs he leans back in his chair “Hows it going man, got some more fine gifts right there for your wife sir. I’m sure she’ll love everything in there.” He says as he takes another long puff on the cigar.
The man opens up the bag and rifles through it. Taking afew pieces out and placing them on the table, “These are some fine gifts Savino, my wife has to meet you one day and thank you herself.” He says sliding a golden Rolex watch across the desk to Savino, then signaling his man behind whilst grabbing 2 glasses and a bottle of whiskey from his draw he pours two and slides it next to the Rolex. The man he signaled placed a briefcase on the desk and opened it “Three Hundred and Fifty thousand dollars Savino. And that watch, I may have some work for you myself sir, I can see you and I earning a lot of money.” He says as he and Savino grab the glasses and taking a large sip.
Savino had done it. He got himself some easy cash, a man had to die for him to get the fruit. But fuck it, he knew colder days where always ahead and he’d have to live his life like everyday was his last...after all. You never know when the pale horse will come. |
