Honesty walked up for a second time to the Slam Poetry for Poetic People to share yet another masterpiece. Some of the people in there seemed familiar to him. This time, Honesty did not need to wait too long before performing. There were less people present than the first time he went to the bar. Once at the mic stand, Honesty started talking.

"Hello again. I am once again here to present a piece of myself or rather pieces... What I once was is now broken. See, I thought this person was my friend, but yesterday... Yesterday I felt stripped of all joy. Can I feel again? Can I live again? I need to get this off my chest and we will see what happens next... Cassi this is for you.

Why do you do this to me

I thought you were my friend Cassi

But you broke my heart yesterday with no poetry

You said you were my friend Cassi

And yet you continue to reject me

This is the 1930s, my lady

Are you talking about a fish on wheels cause that is really weird

Oh Cassi...

(Pause)

CASSI

WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME

(Rapidly, with a serious tone)

Anger

Sadness

Madness 

Disaster

Plaster...

Plaster my heart to keep it from breaking

Shattering

(Pause)

I am scared I lack longevity

Cassi hurt me pretty badly.

And this pain is getting to me...

WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME

This pain I feel is like a marshmellow that is above a fire too long

So much water in my eyes I feel squishy, yet I am burnt up from this... this... whatever THIS is...

You are the Joker to my Batman

You are the heckler to my comedy

You are the salt in my wounds...

After a spell, finger snapping can be heard from the crowd. This is a slam poem from the heart and even for them the poem hit home.
