Why are you joining leaders like EnricoCalabrese? Started by: Grin-04 on Feb 18, '20 11:11

Grin I do appreciate your work in the streets you certainly speak your mind and you certainly make some decent points. However can i ask you now your dawning the same crew tag as myself and representing a City which houses many people i hold dear, Are you prepared to put in as much work for us as you are at stirring the pot so to speak?

Let’s be real here man, if you were as honorable as you claim to be you wouldn’t have shot Jack Ryan. What happened was you got told to do something, you did exactly as you were told then got salty and acted out like a child would do. Let’s drop the act.
Sure that nice little payday didn’t sway your decision at all either did it?

The name is sexy is why

Report Post Tip

I agree...very sexy.

vincent_valentine surely by coming out here and admitting it that's something? the jungle drums had been banging for long enough claiming this sort of talk was hogwash right? seems salt is getting thrown around like confetti now.

Report Post Tip

What? Nothing from you Grin-05 ?

It seemed like you knew everything about everything yesterday.

Report Post Tip

I'm so sorry, boss. I've had some things to take of today.

What can I do for you?

Report Post Tip

Take care of, too.

Report Post Tip

Aye, you can do nothing for me. I just find it funny how silent you are after being so very wrong.

You see words are important and getting discussion going out here is important, but your way of going about it does nothing for the community really. You want to reach these people and get a point across? Well, then why don't you write to the actual problems, and not other CLs you think are the problem.

Your blood sees someone drop, and you automatically think you know the whole scoop.

What I am saying is your father called out EnricoCalabrese, but you didn't seem to so publically come back out here to say anything about the smear campaign he was running, or how factually inaccurate that it was. You assume because someone dies that their leader did nothing or tried nothing to keep them alive. You are calling out leaders that aren't a part of the actual problem.

You want the problem to stop, then why don't we look at the ones calling for the purge. Not the ones who are affected by it?

Threadsy, he was right to call out Enrico. In fact, I'd say the public nature of being called out may have caused Enricos actions. For that reason alone, it shows he was right.

My father reached out to Enrico directly and got no reply. So the private route clearly did fuck all.

You say go to those directly responsible.. to do what, tell them they are arseholes that ruin this world? They know that, it's actually their intention.

The leaders that are capable of turning on them but not doing it are the main issue. Whilst they are supported by others they will continue to do what they want just as very other group of arseholes before them has and just like the next group will eventually do.

It never changes. Those in charge are always a friend to some and arseholes ruining the world to everyone else.

Wrong. It had nothing to do with it. It served to further annoy him with this rambling, but my father's actions were due to the situation he was placed within. I would hate for Grin to be misled enough to think those words are what made my father do what he did. He did that for his members and to not have to watch his world crumble around him like those at the top will do to anyone not in their super-secret circle, after they are done with you of course.

Your father reached out to my father? So what? Why would my father have given information out to someone that would cause his death. When you are forced to navigate through a pool of shit, you watch for turds. The wrong thing said would have lead to my father's death before he could stand up for what he believes is right.

Well First of all, I am glad I amused you, Threadsy. As it happens, I have also been entertaining a lot of other people recently so I guess I must be doing something for the community after all, right?

Anyway, lots of assumptions about me there which I'll quickly correct. I actually don't assume I know the whole scoop, nor do I even pretend to. I'm a lowly Gangster who doesn't even have a place in the line outside, let alone a seat at the table. I don't know the reason why Whoreable was killed, which is why this discussion doesn't try to offer an explanation for it. The things I comment on, and I would recommend you try this, are things within my own knowledge, i.e. I have records of someone reliable at the table telling me them, they can be deduced from the factual information available or I have some personal experience or record of them.

This brings me to EnricoCalabrese and this discussion. Grin-04 did ask why people would join EnricoCalabrese after he killed a member of his and stood idly by while another died. At the time, the evidence was his and Hoth's allowance of the slaying of Four and his own murder of JackRyan. Deductive reasoning leads you to the conclusion he is allowing or tolerating the purge. Enrico, subsequent to this call out, decided to shoot Wolverine. Are the two things linked? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. But if I was a leader and I was annoyed about the current situation and then some little twerp started mouthing off about me in the street, that might just cause me to act to prove the criticism I was now receiving to be wrong. Either way, he did something, which made Grin-04 wrong.

On that note, I have no issue with accepting when I'm wrong, publicly or in private and I was wrong about Enrico. I thought he was going to be pushed around and do nothing about it in an attempt to survive. Grin-04 was wrong too and I'm glad we were wrong about Enrico tolerating the purge and doing nothing about it and I actually sent a mail to the man himself saying that.

Now, I do think there are probably better ways to prove you don't tolerate the purge than by getting your whole crew killed, but it is certainly better than sitting in silence and appeasing people, because these things are part of the actual problem. These two things, appeasement and silence, are what makes a purge successful, were two things Mr Calabrese was guilty of at the time of speaking, and are two things I have been attempting to rectify them by shining a light on it.

As to looking at those calling a purge, you might note some of Grin-01-04's recent works in this area. However if there is anything in particular you want to look at that you don't think has been covered, I'm all ears.

CookieMonster continues to gobble on his chocolate chip cookies. He raises his eye brow as the thoughts rush through his mind.

Threadsy, you say that Grin's words served to further annoy father. Why? Were these words true and he didn't know how to handle the issue? Did he have a change of heart and realize the hole that he dug was already too deep to turn back?

I mean doing what your father did would do either one or two things...possibly three things now that I think about it more. It would A) clear his name on the accusations, B) Cheap ploy, or C) He realized that the shit he was doing he truly didn't believe in and finally took action. I mean you can clear the air on his behalf because you have his journals and everything else in your possession.

Threadsy took a moment to search for his pack of Lucky Strikes as he ruminated upon the words from the two gentlemen before him. After a few glimpses into his father's handwritten book, The Enrico Calabrese Story: Navigating the Purge.

"You have made some excellent points, Grin. I can see where your father may have come to those conclusions. Whenever you said this, however,"

Now, I do think there are probably better ways to prove you don't tolerate the purge than by getting your whole crew killed, but it is certainly better than sitting in silence and appeasing people, because these things are part of the actual problem.

"I have to disagree with part of that statement. My father's crew was already dead the moment they were born into this life. Well, that is if they ever tried to become someone they were dead. This was all very apparent to him at the time. Calling out the leaders that are not a part of the group isn't going to solve much. I agree that silence is one of the worst issues we are facing in these times, but the streets are silent for fear of bullets.

Silence is a weapon. Silence breeds chaos and confusion to the masses. Silence creates fear out of the unknown. Silence also makes others scared to break the silence after it is silent for so long. I am tired of being silent.

If my father, God rest his soul, had come out here to these streets, then he knew very well what would be his fate. Instead, he spent his time trying to make the best of his situation placed before him. He would have loved nothing more than to have avenged his Left Hand Man Four's death sooner, but the time wasn't quite right that he would be successful at such a thing.

I argue that your focus should not be solely on those that are being victimized by this regime of paranoia. Why are you arguing at the lower level of the pecking order? Let's face it. My father had a lot of ambition, but he was nothing more than a pawn to a man that thought he was manipulating him to be his pigeon. Surely once his gun was capable of doing much more damage, he would have been packed away into his own little coffin, probably after being asked to kill off the rest of those around him before so.

That's not an issue with my father. That's an issue with the state of this entire country."

Threadsy turned to CookieMonster and shrugged his shoulders.

"D. None of the above. I mean what I said just moments before. I think it was a severely misguided speech. I think that the problem isn't so easy of one as to just, 'Do something about it and don't let it happen in your crew.' Most people don't understand what it takes to stay alive when you are rising up the ranks. When you are trying to do it with the mafioso here now, it is next to impossible.

I can see how my father's silence in the streets would have been seen as acceptance and agreeance.

My father was never going to be a part of the group. He would never have been on the inside. He did what he had to do to survive long enough to hopefully hurt the root of the problem. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't know that his own Godfather Chairman could turn around and put a bullet between his eyes without blinking. Working for someone like that means you have to be a little smarter in your actions to have any chance of survival. Had my Father been in a position to do so, he would have avenged his left-hand man the day that he died, but now that, that day has come and gone, I would suspect his kin was happier with this outcome instead."
