Now at the bar, Vincent and his companion sat down with a cup of coffee in each of their hands. They glanced at the new people trying to impress ‘The King’ and it was not working, he was a busy man and this just proved it, though it was better than nothing and they knew they needed something to amuse them. "They're like vultures, they're providing some fine amusement for us though and that is something I have to applaud. Pure greatness." Rolling his eyes, Vincent sipped away at his cup. Though he would not pretend that the boys brought a smile to his lips. They were a sight, now though, with Gio at their side. The people had turned their attention onto the three sitting in a shadowy booth. "Greatness is something that has an acquired bitter taste Valerie. I suggest you take it elsewhere, I do not need them to overhear a woman like yourself granting them praise. They would never the end of it and they would preen like peacocks." Snickering and finally being called by her name, Val simply smirked, giving her friend a wink before turning her eyes onto the pianist who was playing quite beautifully. Val looking over her shoulder noticed that Gio was looking between her and Vincent with something akin to wonder before he schooled it into a simple curious look. The man had better work on his expressions, he was easier to read than a phone-book. "While I find this all positively fun and bringing me to some laughter, we were here to do business, Vincent. I'd like to get that underway, wouldn't you?" Smirking, it was quite clear that Gio was uncomfortable and a man in his position had a right to be. Considering who the men and women here were, there seemed to be many members of the Wolves and Kings but none of the traditional men of honour. Vegas was a gathering place for different organizations now. "I would but I just came here to see some great people, the family business and all of that nonsense, something you would know a lot about. Considering your cousin does some work with the construction crews out here, I want you to see what could have been yours. A life with the Kings and Wolves, these guys understand what the meaning of family is. A life with one another." Gio knew that this little rant was meant to put him on the guilty path but he had already knew this. The look in their eyes was anything but true sympathy, it was something to test him with, to see if he would truly turn rat for another family. Cause if you could turn on your surrogate family, the people you bonded with. What stopped you from going to the feds next? This life was a harsh one. Gio had that hammered into him, his family, the people he worked with. They were his brothers, cousins, sisters, nephews, nieces, and uncles. They were to be everything that his true family could not offer but he was not blind, family's fought and the mob was no different. |

"I have what I want Vincent, I make good money and I make sure that the boss has protection. I look out for the people that work under me, that's the difference between you and me. The difference between the Lombardi Family and The Kings, we stick to the code. Societa Onorata. The honoured society, I've lived and still live that life, I am the best man that stands among us right now. Let's get to work, alright?" Val was the one that took the lead, deciding that Vincent had placed Gio on the spot enough. He wasn't a rat but he knew the ways of placing himself on a pedestal. He remained calm, he remained ready for whatever would be thrown at him and this is what they would be offering, a difference in work and lifestyle. "Calm down boyo, look what you've done Vin, you've made him all red and angry. He looks like a fucking tomato!" Val teased the Italian while Vincent simply shrugged, not caring for the Italian one bit. He was too focused on the wandering waitresses who moved back and forth in skirts, though he was swatted upside the head by Valerie who gave him a cheeky wink in response. "Look, this type of deal, we need to know what the Lombardi's can bring to the table. They're operating here or they wish too, you look like the poster boy of this alliance and so do we, it's a win-win situation boyo." Gio gritted his teeth, the Irishwoman was taking a liking to making sure that there was a good amount of needless poking on her side. Deciding to swallow the bitter pill down, he knew the business situation of the Lombardi's would place them in a different kind of position altogether. "Being the poster boy and being someone who brings in cash are two different things. I want to make sure that we understand what I'm bringing to the table, I bring a wealth of connections that the Las Vegas criminal underworld severely needs." He was not bluffing, with the people hold up in the East Coast. They had plenty people doing business with them, the Buffalo Families, Albany Crews, a plethora of gangs and bikers. All dealing in a variety of goods that led back to the Lombardi Family, they had a few hands in a few different flavored pies. Valerie and Vincent had to bring their selves to heel for a moment. Gio was not wrong, compared to the many other organizations, they were the ones who needed the assistance, the West Coast, while once a strong side of these United States had dwindled and now they had little of their former strengths, things were not looking well for them. The fact an associate in the Lombardi Family pointed that out was not shocking but it proved how dire their situation was. They were no longer the heavy-hitting threats of the Underworld anymore. They were regarded as insects, things could change but that would take a while in itself. |

"Yes but the reputation of one of our clients brings something else, we have under our agreement, a Salvatore Pavanno. The last heir to the Pavanno Family main branch. Now, considering the pull of this certain family, we know the connections that brings. What he can do and how he operates." Vincent took the lead, knowing that this type of speak was something that they couldn't lead. They could at the very best discuss it and bring it to one of their bosses. Las Vegas had acquired the allegiance of the Pavanno Organization. A highly regarded family in Europe, not so much in the united states considering the last few months but things would be able to change for them if the deal with Vegas went alright. Gio raised an eyebrow, that name had meant something over time. While it was not as famous as many others that had stepped off numerous boats in the world, it was still regarded as well-known in certain circles. He was not going to get into that, each member of that dynasty had earned their right to wield that name and all that it brings. "Fair enough, the Lombardi family wish to open lines of communication to expand their gun-running empire. The Irish have backed off, allowing the Italians a modicum of control over the trade for the foreseeable future we wish to build with them. Vegas has always been a spot where the family wished to expand, now we can do that. My superior, Sonny Lombardi wants to speak with Capo, Paulie Rugia." Paulie? Well that different, considering that the man was their capo, it made sense and considering he was in this very bar. Bringing this to him could mean something different for the family, an increase in respect around the streets and possibly a big payday for all of the family. "And when is that supposed to happen? Sonny Lombardi just doesn't reach out for no reason to a family capo. You obviously wish for this deal a lot and I can dig that. I want to make sure you guys get this going. If it leads to peace and no bullshit from any side of the families, we can make this work." Valerie coughed, making sure that Vincent knew his place. He was but an associate of the family, making deals with other associates, trying to take the lead of an operation when he was not made, it was a sure way to get killed. And she was not wishing him dead, yet. Even if he was a pain in her backside. "Soon enough. I'll talk to Sonny, make sure that we can get something going, make sure that everyone is in agreement and we kick something up to the bosses. This deal could make us tons, and it will. To the future?" Gio simply raised his eyebrows before Vincent nodded, to the future indeed. and it would be one hell of a time getting there. |
