She had been straightening up around the apartment, unpacking things from her move from Detroit, and  making room for some of @Danny__Greene 's things. As she opened a box marked photos, she found a letter, addressed to her in Kevin's handwriting. She sat down on the edge of the couch, and allowed for a brief moment, emotion to overcome her. She wondered when he had written this letter? She steeled herself as she broke the seal on the envelope, although, she couldn't stop her hands from shaking. As she  pulled the paper out of the envelope she noticed that the date was the day he had died.

She sat there, in silence as she folded the letter and put it back in the envelope, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't breathe. This ripped her very soul out of her body,and then slammed it back inside so that her soul was painfully on fire. She didn't know how long she sat there, soaking Kevin's letter when she realized that Danny was beside her with his arm around her. She finally gave in, and leaned over and let him hold her as the sobs finally escaped in gut wrenching wretches. 

My eyes are bleeding, really pulled the heart stings that.

EvilClown walks past the crying mess and stands in a pile of dog shit.

"Intresting... whit dog shit, not seen that in a while" EvilClown remarks to himself as he meanders on

Danny watched as Niki was going thru the box of miscellaneous pictures and such.  He had figured that she had not found the note that he knew Kevin was going to write.  If she had read it already she would not have been acting the way she had been.  Since the moment he arrived Danny wanted to just blurt out.....Have you read the damn letter?!  Kevin was supposed to prepare you!!!

But he knew he couldn't do that.  Well, actually he didn't.  But Kevin had prepared him before even writing the letter.  He told Danny not to push Niki.  She wouldn't respond to him.  She would only respond to Kevin and she had to find these things out for herself.  He knew the letter would melt her and break her, but that she would move forward once she read it and once that happened she would take care of Danny just as she had with Kevin.

Danny held the hug for as long as Niki needed it.  It wasn't natural for him, but Niki had that way of making the unnatural become so natural.  It was like she was there for him from the time they were kids.  

After what seemed like an eternity Danny kissed he top of Niki's head.  He still held her tight but finally began to speak.

I meant what i said yesterday Nik.  I want to make things right.  I know i'll never replace Kevin.  No one ever will.  But i think we can do great things together and honor his memory.  We can change the wrongs that our parents did, well my parents.....and create a new legacy for our family.  I'm all in for whatever direction you think i need to go.  I trust you with my life.  You are all i have left.

Danny continued to hug Niki like he's never hugged anyone before.
