Jonny_Boy steps out of the casino into the gloomy, rainy, dreary, cold streets where he immediately hears the tragic news of his great Godfather McDermott passing just a few hours earlier.  Jonny_Boy continues walking towards the crowd of people with his head hung low and is heart bleeding with sorrow.

            Jonny_Boy thinks to himself, “if only I were out here in the streets instead of gambling maybe, just maybe I could have saved him.  I could have shot the guy who shot him first or jumped in front of the Godfather and took my own life so that he could still be here today.  What a selfish shit I am for getting drunk all night and entertaining myself while my Godfather is going about his business and ends up getting killed.”

“I have to do something about this, I feel like I have let my city down, I feel like I wasn’t there for them.”

Jonny_Boy stops walking for a second and looks up at the crowd of people and in that moment it hits Jonny…..

“That’s it, I got it, there is only one way to make it up to the Godfather and this great city of Detroit.”

Jonny_boy walks into the middle of the crowd gets down on one knee and starts to assemble his collapsible podium.  After it’s all assembled Jonny stands up and brushes the dirt of his pants and adjusts his tie as he steps up to the podium.

Hello my fellow Mafioso, I come before you today in a bitter sweet manner.  It was but a couple hours ago that the great McDermott, the beloved Godfather of Detroit, has passed.  I know there are a lot of us out there that worked under him and are now wondering what is next for the city of Detroit.  Where do we go from here?  Who is going to step up and lead us, protect us, and look over us?

Well I hear you Detroit…. Loud and clear.

Well to answer all your questions I would like to announce that it is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I will be taking over as your acting Godfather of Detroit.

The crowed of people suddenly erupt into conversation

I know this is a shock to a lot of you and that many of you don’t even know who I am but I promise you one thing…. You will.  I plan on picking up right where our late great Godfather has left off and pushing this city to greatness.

Thank you for your time this afternoon and you will be hearing more from me in the near future about my fine city.

Jonny_Boy steps down and breaks down his collapsible podium, packs it up in his briefcase and walks down the street to get to business.

Naenia blushes brightly. She was so embarrassed for the poor soul...

Young man, please...stop drinking. Or doing some of your own stash...it's not looking good for you.

Listening to the young man, Tam smiles and wanders over clapping him on the shoulder.

Well I must say, that's most enterprising of you! As much as I commend your desire to see our recently deceased Godfather's legacy, live on and his dream endure through your own spirited works, I can not help but think there might be others better suited to spearhead the task.

As we speak there are discussions going on and decisions being made about who will take the reigns and what direction our fine city will go in. Having said that, your spirited enthusiasm and undeniable zest for the task will not go unnoticed. As much as we may all commend you on your enthusiasm, we would also respectfully request you to restrain yourself for the immediate future. After all, our beloved Godfather has only just this day fallen and a customary period of respectful mourning should be observed by all from the fine city of Detroit.

Smiling at Jonny, Tam gives him an understanding wink and walks away hoping to not have to see another member of his city die on this most unfortunate of days.

Such a shame that when a tragedy strikes there is inevitably someone who steps up and shows just how ignorant they can be. I lost my Godfather a few hours ago and for the man to come out here and completely piss on his grave is a horrendous shame. I am just glad he has been silenced forever. Thank you for whoever handled that situation.
