Great Steaks Started by: Gunny on Mar 31, '20 05:11

Gunny was in Detroit on some business, routine business, he had to collect money for his superiors from a processing plant which specialized in beef. Gunny had good relations with his contacts at the plant, including the owner. He never had an issue collecting dues and things couldn't be better. At times Gunny would make out with the cash and a few prime steaks for himself. This all changed though when Gunny had an idea. He was planning on purchasing a small restaurant in Bricktown, DT and convert it into a steak house. Why not, he had the best connections for it.

Gunny sat down with the processing plant owner to discuss to business venture. The two were easily able to come to an agreement, and Gunny had his provider of premium cuts of any steaks he wanted. Gunny had first pick from the plant, and the owner would be getting a very fair influx of cash. It was a win win. Now Gunny needed to set out on purchasing his steak house. The place he had his eyes on in Bricktown, was an old pizzeria. It was struggling at best, but it was well built, and in a prime location for foot traffic.

Gunny arranged a meeting with the owner of the pizzeria, had a brief conversation, and cut a check. Just like that Gunny was the proud owner of his new steak house. He shut down the pizzeria, and hired contractors to give the entire place a face-lift. The contractors also converted the rustic pizzeria into a more modern steak house, with an amazing bar. There were large tables with leather benches on both sides, each table was fairly secluded to give all customers privacy. The bar was located on the rear wall, with large leather bar stools which were extremely comfortable. The bar was low-lit and extremely relaxing.

Gunny hired a premier staff of chefs and waitresses from all over the world. The combined experience in his kitchen made it so that any order thrown into the kitchen would be completed with ease, and the results would be out of this world. Gunny not only had access to the best cuts of steak in the country, but now he had the best experts to turn the meat into steaks worth paying top dollar for. It was certainly a great place for affluent members of the community to meet and discuss business, while eating amazing food and drinks.

Gunny had a private office located on the second floor, this was the best place to find him when he was in Detroit. It certainly beat a hotel any day. He had a large desk, leather chairs, a couch, and behind his bookshelf there was a large king size bed for him to sleep in private. There was no mini-bar however, as Gunny could simply request drinks from below and have a waitress run the drinks up, along with a mouth watering steak. It was his own private paradise away from home.

Steak had been a merry accompaniment to many of Sisyphus' meals over the year to the point where he had to be taken into the hospital twice by the age of twenty six for clogged arteries. That did not stop the boy from delving into the deep end of the steak pool, but it did prevent him from eating it for every single meal-- long gone were the days of steak with sausage, steak with spaghetti, and his personal favorite which would have to be steak with roast beef.

These days when he wanted to tantalize himself with a feast from the God's, he would hop into his car and go to a random steakhouse in the area and to his surprise one had just opened up in Detroit itself! Great Steaks seemed like a convenient name for a place that sells the meaty treat, and perhaps a bit too on the nose, but there was no point in giving it a review before even plopping some of the juicy meat into his mouth and so he set off into the city to find the fixture.

Great Steaks

It wasn't too hard to track down the joint and once he made it inside, the first thing that he took notice of was the bar, but alcoholic beverages weren't what he was here for. That's why he reserved himself a table near the back of the business and ordered the largest and finest steak one could.

"I'd like it to be rare, almost as if it were still grazing on the fields."

Smiling to the waiter, he waited. The day was still young and nothing beat eating a steak before your morning coffee, it was something he had been trying to cut down on but who really is to say that red meat is bad for you? Without delaying much longer, he walked over towards the bar while his meal was being prepared.

"Get me a shot, good man."

Downing the drink as quickly as it arrived in his hands there was a distinct smile on his face which could only be brought upon by the glorious sight of a nice rare steak that was now sitting on his table. Quickly rushing from the bar stool he was perched lightly on, he made his way over to the hot meal and quickly chewed and gnawed on what he had been dying for.

"Mmmmmmmmmm..."

This would be a fine place for him to visit, indeed. Doctor be damned.
