I was very excited to have my offer of an interview accepted by one of the street's most vocal personages, Mr. Scott McCall.  Scott and I sat down in a back alley together for a frank and at times pointed discussion about the content and quality of things going into our streets, about the words for credit racket run by city hall, and the impact ongoing criticism from various bloodlines has had on the writers of our community over time.

"Scott, thank you for taking the time to join me today.  Before we get into some of the heavier topics we have before us, I'd like to ask you a bit about your bloodline's history on these shores.  How did your family come to find themselves here?  Are you able to tell us anything about that and what - if anything - it & their start on these shores can tell us about the man you are today?"

"My family came onto these shores about two years ago, I have read the journals of my ancestors. They have spoken of some great people, Isabella-Luciano comes to mind, she gave my great, removing however many greats, grandfather his chance. She was the one that introduced him to what he loved, going out on the streets, making some moves, and enjoying what he did. Of course, there were plenty of others. Many whom I am sure that I will come to name during this interview."

"I'm someone who doesn't mind what you do, as long as you enjoy it. I'm not one to go out seeking trouble, often, it finds me in the oddest of ways. But enough about me, please, let us go into this interview. I'm finally excited to make sure that my side and the others in the community that I am proud to represent are finally getting a say."

"Have you always been someone with a creative streak?  That is to say, before coming to our shores did your bloodline participate in other creative activities?  Acting perhaps?  Writing of stories?  The new craze of roleplaying even?"

"I have and I have always enjoyed it, even without an incentive. I can admit that my work has always been from the heart, these shores actually helped me improve in the crazy world of acting, creativity, and this new craze that is roleplaying..."

"I can certainly say that my bloodline has gained some great responses to their works, they have gained some loyal people for their writing alone. Of course, there are many factors to this and I cannot deny that either. Also, they have taken their criticism and then allowed to improve their work, they have taken what someone has said could be improved and then allowed it to take root."

"In fifty words or less, can you tell me about your favorite thing shared in the streets and what makes it memorable to you?"

"I have to say, it was something my ancestor's friend wrote. It was called Inquire and Detect, It has made me laugh so much that I look back in old journals and read it, while some might not like it, I have still enjoyed it nonetheless."

"Let's talk about the Words for Credit racket run by City Hall.  It's fair to say your bloodline has profited from this quite a bit, isn't it?  Was your bloodline on these shores prior to the implementation of this racket?  Or is this all your family has ever known?  If you were here before... was your family always active in the streets even before it was profitable to be so?"

"I can say that my bloodline was not here for the implementation of this racket, we had come during. I believe it was during the Race Street era when things were booming and people flocked to Philly to watch the great boxing fights started by JackMezzo and numerous others. 

I can say that the word for credit racket has been all my family has known. I will say that we have benefited from it greatly and we have achieved fame, success, and riches.

But it has not been easy, as others and many people would know due to being at the top of the acting, creative world. It has come with a lot of scorn and some jabs but none that has not been brushed off without another glance on some occasions."

"A lot has been said regarding your bloodline's choice to share their life in the streets, often without interaction from others, are they right to criticize the bestowing of public funds into your pockets for something that the public isn't involved in?  Or do you see it another way?"  

"City Hall deemed me able to receive my fair share, they deemed my naysayers to their fair share and they have deemed many others to their fair share. There are plenty of ways to get attention and make money in our world, drugs, gambling, and sometimes your bosses may give you a little extra bonus for doing a certain job and reaching a certain milestone I could say. This can all be turned into credit, there are plenty of ways to earn it."

"I see it that way, I can say that I've earned this. Of course, they can say the opposite, who is truly right? No one is. All I can do is defend myself against these accusations. I just simply wish for everyone to do what they enjoy, whether it be teaching a local gangster a lesson or selling some good old coke or heroin, it's their choice how they spend their time in our world. I cannot judge."

"There are those who have suggested that journals and fantasy tales should be kept to the business districts or maybe even another place created for creative people.  As you do still gain credit from City Hall for working in the business districts, can you tell me why you opt to work in the streets instead of the business districts?"

"The Streets, I'm just used to it. That's all, nothing more to it. I mean, could we use a place where certain creative people are not going to be thrown shit at and then continued to be 'Scamming City Hall' and I will say, yes. There should be a place, because whether or not I get my credit, I get my just due, as I said before in this interview, this acting, this creativity is in my blood. I have always done it and that will not change, people need to learn. Nor will I expect them to change, nor will I say that they should go elsewhere. That's not for me to say, that is up to City Hall and their way of running things."

"It's clear by your statements even if City Hall ends or changes their credits for words racket, that you intend to continue to produce content and that you feel the credits aren't the only reason you (and others) do what you do.  Do you believe the city business districts have anything about them which cause content creators to choose the streets over BDs as a home for what they share?  Some, in the past, have asserted it is difficult to finish something in a timely manner with travel being an issue - but for those working in Back Alleys or only sharing journals they write by themselves, this shouldn't be a hindrance.  What's your thoughts on this?"

"Yes, and No, they are affected in many ways. Some people are fearful to go to the streets because of certain factors like hecklers or witnessing someone get torn down due to certain statements and will to do it in the privacy of the BDs. Regarding flights and making time, sometimes the timely manner, mixed with travel could prove to be nothing really. Some people fly to Seattle from New York for a nice old fashion hamburger, I've never been but I hear it's quite the place. So overall, I say that it depends on the person and who they are visiting or talking with."

"Scott I want to thank you again for taking the time to sit down with me today and express your opinions.  In closing, I'd like to ask you to give us a vision of what you - in a perfect world - would see the streets looking like.  Would you change anything?  Again... I wish you the very best in your future here on these shores and look forward to seeing you in the streets."

"I wouldn't change a damn thing but I do have to say, should hostilities and members of our society continue slinging mud at one another that things should change and that may be harsher penalties should be implemented and maybe a separate corner of the streets should be left to people who have acting, creativity and other tales on their mind. Either way, I wish for the best for everyone in the society and thank you, Isadora, for giving me a chance to say my piece on this hot topic"
