Bringing Back Unified Business Started by: LucioPatangeli on Apr 10, '20 20:32

Philadelphia, the city that was known as the city of "Brotherly Love" .. but under the Patangeli's, it earned the nickname "The Workshop of the World" as during their time industry flourished, business was unified and people were wealthy. Not a single resident of Philadelphia wanted for not during the great Godfather, Luis Patangeli, but since his death.. Philadelphia has been in disarray, business quickly sunk and most of the union Lucio's grandfather worked hard to build crumbled.. The Race Street Labor Union still sits in disarray on the South Side of the Philly docks, it was amazing the building wasn't torn down during his Grandfathers tenure, but it was a strong reminder to Lucio why Luis built the large skyscraper in the heart of the Old City District, it was there to signify bigger business, a better "tomorrow" and a means for opportunity.

Lucio took a short drag off his cigarette before exhaling a large cloud and tossing it to the side. His big day was today.. he stared out from his balcony from Patangeli Manor in South Philly hills, looking over the meadows and largely still unincorporated land.. it was such beauty living out here, and it was no wonder Luis chose this place as home, Philadelphia was home always...

"Boss your car is ready to head down to meet @Lust ... we shouldn't make her wait too long."

Lucio chuckled at his bodyguards statement, yes we should not keep the boss lady waiting too long.. It was her after all the reason why he had the opportunity he had today, to finally re-open Patangeli Inc. for business.. He cuffed his suit up and turned and nodded at him and followed him out to the car where he climbed into the back of the dark sedan and quickly sped off to meet his boss.

The new building of course, was not located in Old City District.. that tall building was in disarray and it was only fitting with it's re opening, Lucio saw to it that a new building was built.. a little closer to home at that here in South Philly, it was always weird his Grandfather liked to commute so far.. Old City was a good forty five minutes further of a drive.. he leaned his head back against the leather seat of the car and pulled a smoke from his pocket and quickly lit it up with his lighter and took a long drag an exhaled as he sighed. He thought of his time working so close with his boss, Lust, he was grateful for the opportunity but it was going to be his first time "on his own" since coming to America, there was something comforting about her and her aura, it drew him in and it was going to be hard giving that up, how he enjoyed visiting the Depravity club every morning and seeing her before the place opened. He took another long drag and exhaled as he let out a sigh, he was really going to miss those morning meetings..

Before you knew it, their short drive was over and Lucio stepped out from the back of his sedan and quickly walked over to where Lust was standing in front of the red ribbon that was marked in a line.. she smiled at him and he couldn't help but blush as he took the scissors from her and turned to address the crowd that formed.

"Hello ladies and gentleman, thank you for coming today to witness this great moment for me and my family, The Patangeli's, I want to start off by thanking Lust here for giving me this opportunity to re open my grandfathers business, Patangeli Incorporated was always thought to have been something bigger, something "better" for business in this great city of ours.. he fought hard for worker rights, equal pay, and above all a place for you all to call home!"

He took a short pause and fixed his suit tie and cleared his throat after the crowd finished their small round of clapping.

"I hope to live up to my grandfathers' legacy, and his greatness in terms of bringing business back to Philadelphia, I look forward to working with each and every one of you, in some form or another and hope that this place will become great again!"

He cut the red ribbon with the scissors in his hand and it fell innocently to the ground before Lucio turned with a smile and raised his hand up with a wave at the crowd before quickly heading inside, there was a lot of work to be done!

After handing him the scissors, she took a few steps back to watch him cut the ribbon, watching it fall to the ground as she clapped with the large crowd around them here to celebrate his step up into leadership. Instantly afterwards, she made sure she was the first person he spoke to though she knew many would want to congratulate him.

She had a party set up in the Depravity headquarters when they were ready to head back but first she wanted to say a few words.

"Lucio, I've been trying to drag you and your kin away from my side for a long time now. Though we both resisted, it got far too comfortable and you needed to shine on your own. I know you'll do great things with Patangeli Inc. You'll follow your grandfather's footsteps perfectly, that I am sure of. I have so much trust and respect for you, go do your thing."

She told him with a big grin, leaning into him to hug him quickly before heading inside to start off the party. She was definitely looking forward to some alcohol for this special occasion! Was anyone really surprised?

Mirko had been meaning to send a letter for some time now ever since he heard the news of LucioPatangeli's authorization to take over South Philly district. It was interesting news since it was the lineage of another Patangeli who had called Philadelphia his home. It was within his ancestors journals, although there were some gaps and fragments of that time due to some of those ancestors spending time in the old country. Always difficult to keep track of events in America while back there...

With a bit of free time on his hands he went upstairs to his office and took a seat at his desk. From one of the drawers he pulled out a nice piece of paper and his favorite pen. The ink showed up quite nicely and it wrote so smoothly. He twisted it and began to write...

Dear Lucio,

I hope that this letter finds you well as you continue to get things going with that new venture of yours in South Philly. I don't believe our two lines have worked together much in the past if at all. So I hope that perhaps we can change that with our two cities being so close to one another. You speak of bringing back strong business and 'unified' business. I myself have a strong invested interest in the Business District of New York. While we are more focused on liquor during these dry times, I do hope to see where else it goes.

Hopefully we will have a chance to talk about our two cities and what could be accomplished in the business districts. I think that there could be something great brewing for the future. No pun intended. I suppose we will have to see what that may be. I look forward to what you can accomplish and to hearing from you in the not too distant future hopefully.

With that he folded up the piece of paper and put it inside an envelope. Mirko melted a bit of wax over the seal and then pressed his stamp into it. What remained as he lifted it up were his initials in wax...

"Here, get this mailed to South Philly. Lucio's headquarters to be exact." He said as he handed off to one of his men.

Now that he was done with that, he could go get some well deserved lunch from one of the many fine delicatessens New York had to offer...
