This site has a verification letters that seem to be designed less for fraud prevention and more for making me run through 3 or 4 clicks.

I would like to suggest MR end their affiliation with such an organization.

Having also had problems with this particular voting site (Always getting the captcha wrong and sometimes 3-5 times), I agree with you. However, they would need to replace it with another vote site.

i liekwise have trouble with this site on a regular basis. even when i'm triple sure i have it rght.

I found an easy way to go through this a little bit simpler. Instead of clicking submit click anywhere on the screen that doesn't activate anything. If you just click, it says if it's OK or not.

Never had problems with it. I do what the guy above me suggested.

DeadlySin, voting is not supposed to be something that takes effort. You click the link, put in the code and go. Especially when there are 12 or so vote sites like there are on MR. If voting took alot of effort, most people wouldn't do it at all.

Well then obviously "most people" are missing the whole point of voting.

The whole point of voting is to support the site through an action that takes little effort. I am not saying we shouldn't put effort into supporting MR, but this vote site is troublesome as it's hard to read the captcha. This has been stated by many people in this very thread.

On a related note, replying on a suggestion thread with a belittling tone and sarcasm is very rude. If you can't state your opinion in a nicer toner, perhaps you shouldn't state it at all.

I usually reply with the level of effort that I see put into a suggestion. This is text... you cannot hear tone. As for telling me whether I am or am not allowed to state my opinion... good luck with that. Perhaps instead of attempting to berate me with this, perhaps stick to the topic at hand. On a side note I think it's rude to the people that put the effort in to make this game and keep it running to come and suggest that putting a tiny amount of effort in to help promote the game, is apparently such a ridiculous request. Back to the topic at hand though, since we are here to discuss the suggestion, not descend into a petty argument...

There is nothing you will or can say that will change my mind. I like showing my appreciation to the people who make this game possible, and considering they also reward people for voting it really isn't too much to ask :)

I have to agree with DeadlySin here. Frankly, if you cannot be arsed to put in a little effort to vote then basically you're showing, in my eyes, a lack of respect to all the admin team. The people who stay up often long into the morning hours to ensure that this game is functioning and that all the bugs are fixed asap. Is it too much to show them even a little support by putting your arse into gear and clicking and typing a few measly letters to vote? Really? Think about it.

If you had paid attention to the suggestion instead of jumping on DeadlySin's back, RoryRourke, you'd see that the problem is not that we have to type in letters at all. The problem is, in fact, that the captchas are often very hard to read and it takes several tries to be able to type it properly. Whether or not you consider this a lack of effort is of no important.

I started this fucking thread because I had a suggestion. Deadly and Rory can just kiss my arse. My option will be to quit voting entirely at some point, rather than keep fucking around with this worthless, dishonest, click happy sight. Anytime the "admins" feel I am disrespectful they can ban my ass....

Your thoughts? No, your thoughts, given respectfully, would not have included the "OMG it takes EFFORT" part. You can be sure I put in "effort" when required. I just dont put the effort into brown nosing that you seem to. You also seem to miss another salient point. A suggestion was made based on my experience and other players verified it based off theirs. What does that tell you about the silent majority? You could have chimed in, that you hardly find it annoying or something. Instead both you and Rory decided to twist around my suggestion and portray it as some sort of disrespect. You can be sure both of you have lost all of my respect, but the admin has it, thus my "suggestion" in the proper forum and proper format. As for acting like an ass, you wanted Asshole Bennie, you got him.

Moving right along. ok, so, deadlysin. i'm with you and i am willing to put effort into my voting, my issue is simply that the site in question appears to be malfunctioning on a regular basis and whoever runs in has not fixed it. when i see something malfunction ofr a sustained period of time, i do not wish to use it, and i feel that would be a waste of our time to attempt to support the game via a flawed website.

I do agree with you that seeing something not working properly for a long time does put you off. I've never had any problems with that one myself, but then I always click off the box and wait for it confirm so I guess I haven't experienced what you have :)

So, what you're saying is that you came here to argue because you've never experienced the problem at hand. Thanks for clearing that up. If you've never personally had to deal with the problem, you'd not see how it's an issue. Therefore, you would think the people agreeing with the suggestion are lazy. It'd be like me going over there and replying on a suggestion to change something about crew leaders when I've never been one.
