In the back of the Sedan on her way to meet Goldust, Kirsty wondered just why he had been selected for an interview.  He was, after all, a hand in a Chicago crew, erstwhile publisher of a newspaper and an enthusiastic contributor to the Streets.  What he lacked in ability to make a succinct point, he certainly compensated for with sheer, blood-minded verbosity.  Selective in the target of his wordy commentary, he zeroes in and often makes relevant points.  Was he well known?  Certainly to a few people he was.  Not destined for fame, he was nonetheless recognised as a very, very hard and loyal worker.  Kirsty still wasn't quite how to introduce this man, and instead decided to allow the interview to speak for itself.

What is it about being part of the upper structure that appeals?

"Firstly, let me thank you for asking for this interview. I don't think my family line has asked for one in perhaps a couple of dozen generations. My family has walked these streets for almost as long as any. During that time we have held just about every position you can imagine, including a few that no longer exist. We don't particularly seek out positions of power, I have records going back 10 or 12 generations where my family members have turned down positions of power, leading their own crew, Hand positions and so on, so we don't necessarily seek out positions of power. However, due to the length of time my family has been here, we are seen as experienced mafioso. I personally believe in Grin's Vision for Chicago, and therefore I do what ever I can to make that Vision come true, I go where the boss needs me, and where he thinks I can have the most positive impact. Working as Fidd's Left hand man gives me a unique opportunity to help the newer members of the Chicago Families, to pass on the wealth of knowledge that my family holds, and perhaps help those new to our shores develop and become the best that they can be, becoming productive members of our society, and finding their place in Chicago and its bright future."

You and your bloodline have spent a lot of your writing career focusing on Kuku's bloodline.  Why is that?  How do you feel about that particular bloodline?

"Honestly, if you look back over the years, City Hall holds records on my family back to '09, its only recently that my family has paid any attention to the Kuku bloodline. It was never an conscious decision, its just that Kuku's family is somewhat of an enigma. On one hand, we have a group of people who are obviously intelligent, with a gift for public speaking, and the ability to take those talents and put them to a lot of good. However, what we end up with is usually someone who uses those talents purely to venerate their own feelings of worth, and stroke their own ego, usually by stepping on anyone that they see as below them. Generally unless you are a strong CL, with a huge gun and an army of hitters, the Kuku bloodline see's you as worthless. My family has tried on numerous occasions to capture that spark of talent and nurture it, sometimes by offering genuine assistance, and often by pointing out his short comings and trying to get them to change their ways. However, it has become apparent that that bloodline is tainted beyond help. No matter what I have said or done, private or public, the Kuku bloodline don't seem to be able to control their actions. They don't seem to be able to move beyond their own selfish goals, and everyone is a tool to be used and discarded, you, me and even cityhall.  As to how I feel about his bloodline? Sad, disappointed. There is a wealth of talent there that could be harnessed for the betterment of our society, and instead it is wasted."

What would you like to change about the Streets?

"That's a bit of a loaded question. Personally I believe the streets are in a good place. People are out there talking, debating and communicating. In my own opinion, I don't believe that single person monologues about your family line or your actions previous to joining the mafia have any place in our streets, there are plenty of places for such dialogue to be made, however, it is the view of Cityhall that this is a perfectly legitimate form of communication, and as such I respect people's rights to talk about whatever they want in whichever way they want. I'm a big man, I am perfectly capable of walking on by and ignoring the speeches that don't appeal to me. Generally those who speak out about such speeches are only interested in furthering their own agenda and causing trouble, such as Commissar Kuku did most recently. The amount of new blood coming to these streets in recent times is dwindling, so we can't afford to drive bloodlines away from our streets, and our lifestyle, otherwise some day we will all pay the price."

Given unbridled power, what would you do to change this society?

"I am a regular in Suggestions Avenue, and I regularly make suggestions to Cityhall on policies that I believe would make our society better. If it were in my power though, I would like to see less Godfather's, perhaps 7 maximum, one for each city, and larger families, like we had back when my Family first walked these streets. Crews of 200 people were a regular occurrence, and it helped people develop skills that they currently don't have an opportunity to develop. Sub crew leaders, In charge of teams of 10 or 20 people, made them almost mini crew leaders in their own right. These guys reported to underbosses, and made suggestions on who did and didn't deserve their button. In turn the Underbosses reported to the Hands and the CL. It was a beautiful system that the current Sponsor system just doesn't come close to equalling. Now, we don't have the member ship that we had back in the early days, so I do realise that crews of 200 people just wouldn't work now days, but I don't see why we couldn't see crews of 50 or 100 people again. Sure, we would have to have a lot of tweaking of what Cities and Districts mean, but its not an impossible task."
