| L(Eve)ing for Philadelphia | Started by: West on Apr 24, '20 15:41 |

It was an extremely sad day for West. For weeks he'd been lounging around the Tranquillity headquarters doing basically nothing. Some said he did even less than Right these days, although West did not think that was possible. Meanwhile in the office one over from his Evelina was neck deep in paperwork, constantly yelling at Charles_Barkley on the phone about doing more mafiaing and less basketball, and generally doing everything West should have been doing. Occasionally Grin-07 would call to remind them how important, great and handsome he was. West would just patch him through to Evelina who really knew how to humour him, then hear through the office wall, "Yes, that's right, we'd be nowhere without you, yes you are responsible for all our success..." But all good things come to and end, and today Tranquillity was losing Evelina as she became the head of Philadelphia. Rebuilding Philly seemed like it would be really a lot of work, and there was only one person around who did any of that, so while it was a big loss for Seattle the choice was still an easy one. West walked in to Evelina 's office where she was busy packing up. "Please leave the picture of the sleeping cat that is clearly not a raccoon. I know you love it but that was expensive, I'll send you a print when you get to Philly. In better news FatherJack has agreed to send the real life TrashPanda with you to lend a hand overseeing South Philly. He's supposedly fantastic and all that, I've no idea why Jack was so eager to see him go. I know you're going to do great without us holding you down, but try not to make that too obvious please. Have you thought about a name for your new family out of interest?" |

| Usually I could give two shits about new auths, but today is different. Today, one of the brightest stars and most capable people these shores have ever seen gets a chance to shine. Eve, I’m super proud of you, and fully believe that you’ll turn Philly into a top notch city in no time. As a gift to you, I’ll make sure VoxNeruda showers and has a new set of clothes for this evenings celebrations. | |

Congratulations, Evelina. I've read journals of our ancestors working together and although it didn't end with them both living, they always said you fought hard, and remained loyal until the very end. I'm excited to see what you make of Philadelphia! |

Eve laughed and hugged Hawk after he finished speaking. “You’ve always been such a great friend. Thank you honey… Can you point me towards Zapata?” Hawk motioned toward the back office. She proceeded to the back to ask about the whereabouts of Lucifer-Morningstar. “I sent him over to visit this homeless nobody I know, he said he needed to release a little steam. Guy’s name is VoxNeruda; he normally hangs out under the overpass near the lake.” Zapata gave her a few more details to help direct her before she made her way out the door. When she arrived at the location he had described, she was surprised to see a small crowd standing in a circle. She loathed to even get out of the car, the ground was wet though there was not a cloud in the sky to explain it, and the air smelled rank. She had to find Lucifer and be on her way, so she hurried over to the boisterous crowd, hoping to get some information. She was shocked when she finally managed to break through the group of hooting men to see what they were shouting about. Lucifer lay on the ground being pummeled by a dirty looking vagrant. Breaking into the circle she threw herself between the two men, blocking VoxNeruda from landing another blow. The smell emanating from his person nearly bowled her over. “Enough,” she exclaimed. Lucifer groaned and rolled onto his side. Coughing he stumbled weakly to his feet. The crowd of men shouted complaints as the fight ended abruptly. “Get in the car” she ordered, annoyed. She reached into her purse, grabbed a few bills, and shoved them toward the victor. “I trust this will cover the fight?” The last thing she heard distinctly as she pushed through the crowd was an unknown man bitching that he had only seen eleven of the kicks that Vox and delivered to Lucifer’s beaten body. The drive to the airport seemed interminable with Lucifer whimpering and cleaning blood from his mouth and hands but eventually they were boarding the plane on the way to Detroit. Ignoring her very good, yet clearly pretty stupid friend, she thought back to her last conversation with West. He had stopped her from packing the ugliest painting that ever existed. He had a habit of collecting and overpaying for legitimately horribly grotesque art. She was very disappointed. She heard that the weather in Philly was still unseasonably cold. She had intended to burn the painting in her fireplace for warmth. “Have you thought about a name for your new family out of interest?" West had asked her. She sighed. She had literally no idea. She had thought seriously about calling her outfit “The Grin Gang” but unfortunately that was already taken. When they arrived at the airport, Chalk was waiting to greet her. He had clearly heard about her move to Philly, and offered her well wishes. She thanked him heartily and was glad to be able to catch up with him as he brought her to meet with FatherJack and Farage. She stretched her stiff limbs as he drove to their destination. This had been a long day of traveling. Thankfully she only had this last stop to make before reaching her final destination. The two Consigliere’s were beyond welcoming, offering her a glass of aged scotch and a bed if she wanted to rest for the night before continuing her travels. The offer was immensely tempting, but she had already made arrangements for the night in Philly. “Honestly gentlemen, I just wanted to meet with you personally to tell you how grateful I am that you have agreed to allow TrashPanda to come with us to Philly. If he wasn’t going to be there, I might have needed to send Lucifer-Morningstar to recruit for me in the south, and that clearly would have been a disaster.” The three of them talked politely for another hour before she realized she needed to be on her way. “Again, thank you. I know he is going to be very successful in South Philly.” When Evelina finally boarded the plane to her final destination, she sighed with relief. Lucifer was snoring in the seat next to her before they even made it to the runway. “Philly, here we come” she thought to herself, and closed her eyes for a short nap. |

Latom was both extremely happy and satisfied. A few weeks earlier the upper structure of UKIP had been gathered to a secret meeting, all expect TrashPanda that is. Things had been a little run down at the HQ at that point. A big mess and smelly. They all knew something had to be done. It had been a very productive night and The Five Step Program had been born. And now they were finally at step 3 - Sending the little garbage dipper off. Finally. Someone else's problem. Things were looking up for all of Detroit and 12th Street especially. Now the real planning begun with arranging for step 4 and 5 to go smoothly. But before everything was said and done Latom had been asked to accompany Farage to a meeting with the soon to be head of Philadelphia. It was nothing out of the ordinary and she always jumped at the opportunity to see that things went smoothly. It had been a quick meeting and Latom hadn't even had the time to get bored or anxiously firing her gun at random things. Which was a huge win for the restless young woman and a good thing considering the gathered reputation of the people inside the room next to her. As Evelina walked out Latom stood up and gave her nod. "- Congratulation. I know you'll rebuild and do great in Philly. Hopefully you'll not have to do all the hard work yourself. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Good Luck!" She followed Evelina out the door in order to see that she made it safely into the car and watch as it speed off. Exciting times lay ahead for the city of Philadelphia. It was going to be interesting to follow. She allowed herself a few more moments of fresh air before walking inside to make sure Farage hadn't fallen asleep at the table. They had celebrating to do as well as planning for the upcoming steps of The Five Step Program. |

Evelina, despite you still pretending to be angry at me, which is of course an absurd concept, I want to wish you the very best. The rat-infested alleyways and dumpsters of Philadelphia are near and dear to my heart, and I'm glad the city will be occupied and lead by a leader such as yourself. Whoever decides to join you in this city will be glad that they did, and I'd encourage anyone who is looking for an organization to work for to pledge their allegiance to you. I'd also like to commend you on your choice of RHM, Lucifer-Morningstar, who has already proven himself as a loyal and dedicated right hand in other organizations. I wish the two of you well in your future endeavors. Salut. |

After directing Evelina towards the bum fights under the overpass, news came in to Zapata that the (now former) Seattle RH had in fact been granted permission to lead her own operation. He made sure to write a note for her to receive upon her arrival in Philadelphia. "Evelina, Congratulations! Philadelphia could not be in more capable hands. I know that because Grin is always saying things like, 'Why can't you be more like Evelina?'. Although I'm sure you have all the bases covered, I am always happy to help if you ever need anything; simply reach out to Grin, I am extremely vigilant about reading his private mail. Best of luck and, again, congratulations. Your friend, Zapata" |

RC had just finished being fitted for his new suit since being Made. He felt handsome. Not as handsome as his leader Grin-07, but handsome nonetheless. He needed a break from looking at his framed photograph of Lia_Vazzi so decided to head to the Streets where there was a gathering starting to build.
Congratulations Evelina. I have fond memories of Philadelphia and from the commendations you have received, can tell it's in great hands. Good luck to you and your family. |

Well, surely this is a failure of recognition on your parts? He should not have had to make that call. Nonetheless, congratulations |

Since his unexpected meeting with FatherJack and Farage where the plans for Philly had been revealed to him TrashPanda had been looking forward to this announcement with great excitement. Not just the chance he had to build his own district from scratch, but far more than that, to help build a city being led by the real real brains behind Seattle's success that is of course Evelina. Her reputation for hard work, strong leadership and indominable spirit would be infection acrss the city and he didn't doubt that it would soon be a thriving lively and wealthy city under her charge.
He hoped that Evelina had received the bottle of whiskey that Tamo should have arranged to be taken to her new HQ, although he was more than a little worried that his drunken right hand Gash might have got to the HQ cellars before Tamo was able to rescue it. Hopefully that wouldn't be a cause for embarassment at their first meeting.
"Well I'd better go find Gash so we take a drive across town to give our congratulations to Evelina in person" he said to anyone that happened to be stood nearby |

Grindelwald had been practicing his speech all day. He was on his way to the city that never sleeps for some official business and was passing through Philly first. Rumor had it was experiencing throughout changes so he had to see how it was going. He stepped out of his car and went on to the new headquarters in the city center where he found Evelina. After a quick handshake and giving out some gifts he had brought Grindelwald started talking. "I wish you best of luck on this journey of yours Eve. I know you'll kill it!" As he was finishing he lighted a cigar and went on again. "On another note, as soon as you left, he started doing the Spain thing again. It must be controled!" And they started making plans how to handle the situation. |

I apologise it has taken so long for me to appear here and offer you congratulations Evelina. I am genuine when I echo the thoughts of many here that it is something a very long time in coming and thoroughly overdue. I am missing having you moaning about this that or the other, nagging us to do more mafiaing. We do things right like drinking coffee and playing basketball. If there’s anything we can do…like provide you with the names of people we have invited then let us know! |
