Life can quickly become quite...samey...around here, there are only so many collections to make, Elodin's to pickpocket and newspapers to be disappointed by after all. Sometimes, a little bit of action is just what the doctor ordered in helping to prevent things from going stale, particularly where the stakes are high. A good duel usually goes a long way to alleviating idle thumbs and ticks these very specific boxes,  but unfortunately, most of the duels we see are massively one-sided and not particularly enjoyable.

That led me to this and wondering if there would be people interested in proving their marksmanship skills against people of a similar protection status for the entertainment of the rest of us? Not slaves of course, think gladiators. Naturally, I would be seeking a champion (or champions) to represent the glorious city of Chicago and would very likely back my (wo)man to tune of many millions of dollars against anyone of a similar ability. 

Would there be any takers for an endeavour of this type or would I be pissing in the wind taking it any further? Let me know if you would like to participate. Rank wouldn't be restrictive, just the level of protection held by any one participant not being able to significant outweigh that of their opponent. In my head we would be offering prizes to the participants, victors and side betting when my champion trumps Charles_Barkley's slimmest of slim pickings.

Sorry boss, I sometimes get so excited that I don't read thinks too properly.

I am unsure why I and I alone have been singled out!  I’m presuming an element of jealousy from Grin-07 of my bona fide legend status. Mind you, had it been Evelina that was mentioned she’d take three weeks to get here!  

I would like to think that even on a bad day...anyone from our fine, chilled out haven on the West coast would give a good account of themselves in any contest. 

I really like this idea, but am too cowardly to partake.  I am more of a Batiatus than a Spartacus.  I would like to contribute to the prize though, please let me know if you garner enough interest!  I'm sure the masses will love this form of entertainment.  The trick of course is finding 2 worthy/legitimate contestants.  

Perhaps making it a little more enticing (in the form of compensation) to the kin of the loser might help.  Unless of course you want to keep it an all or nothing!

Dueling....seems like something I would be interested in.

I've thought a little more about this and to add a little more meat on the bones, I envisaged something like this:

• Duelists will ideally be of the same rank and the same protection status, unless they agree to waive this for some reason
• It will be a coin flip duel, naturally to the death
• Each participant will be paid an entry fee of say $5,000,000 regardless of success or failure
• There will be a higher prize the winner
• If there are multiple people of the same rank/protection status, they will continue to battle until a victor is crowned
• I will have a champion representing the Grin Gang/Chicago and there will be a bonus for beating them 
• Each city/crew is invited to name their own champion
• I'll be taking side action and betting on whoever I think is going to win each duel
• The action will unfold through Lounge for us all to enjoy

Hopefully that clarifies what I was thinking and if enough people are interested, maybe we can make this a reality? 

Archy has been listening carefully to the new game being offered by Grin-07, being an ex-gambler he found the challenge quite interesting.

Sounds like a great show with fair odds, hopefully the fairness will bring you more participants. I would personally love to participate but I have taken promise not to be part of any big gambling actions anymore, especially one that concerns life. However, making bets on the winners sounds less of a risk that I might take part in. If this ever becomes reality I'd love to participate in that and hopefully end up making some money for myself.

I would have been on if I was tired of my account but since Im loyal as hell I stand out of this and hope that those that are in having a great time on this oretty amazing contest when it starts. Last man/woman standing, I salute those that get killed and not the winner :p

Excuse me Grin-07, I do have something to address if you don't mind me asking. Obviously, we have two challengers that would be picked as the best of the best from their respective city. I do have some worries on lets say we have Right Hand of Detroit family vs Random Joe of Philly. You stated same rank unless waived. They are both same rank. Protection status are the same. One of them happens to have slight advantage in status that tends to push things in his/her favor. Would that individuals status be removed or given to the other person that lacks that status? I mean everything is recorded at the time the offer is accepted and can't be alter until one of them is left and victorious.

Alex sat underneath the streetlight across the road listening to all the commotion everyone was making about the duelist challenge. He looked back at the crew of goons he had behind him while they were bumping their heads and slapping each other like a bunch of stooges and looked down before letting out a cringing sigh.

"Will you Buffoons stop that? You're acting like a bunch of fucking... Buffoons!" Alex yelled out of annoyance.

One of his bodyguards slapped another in the back of the head. "You see that? The boss says you're being a buffoon!" He then turned to his boss with a confused look on his face. "Uhh-duhh, boss, what's a buffoon?"

Alex slid his hand across his face and looked at his bodyguards. "Never mind that... I have a new mission in mind and I need you fellas to come with me."

Alex and his crew of goons walked across the street. "I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!" He yelled to the man making the announcement.

Nipper listened to Grin's suggestion with interest, then watched as the various people had their say. After seeing Alexander_Adlerberg throw himself forward so enthusiastically, he had to step forward.

"I am most interested int his idea. I see crearly organised duers as a source of great entertainment. With firm handed ajudication, arr things poissibre. Is it brave or is ir sirry, I suppose that is defined by who win. Grory to the victor!"

He chuckled to himself, then waved a hand across the gathered audience.

"I rook forward to this. So much that I wirr throw in a few dorrar to sweeten the pot. Good ruck to arr who put barrs on rine."
