Kirsty is sad, distressed, and feels that her hand is forced.  Regretfully, she takes to the podium and begins to speak...

"It is no secret that I have long harboured ambitions to get the creative writing community competitive again.  With notable, keen self-awareness, I understood that my ancestor's contests were so hotly contested that they sometimes led to casualties, and that what was needed was someone else, another writer, to front my contests.

And that's where Matt_Murdock came in.  He's a writer.  He has a presence, though he lacks profile and skills in the "rough and tumble" of Streets exchanges.  But Matt isn't so tame and lame when it comes to speaking his mind in other avenues.  But I digress...

So, I harassed Matt, I knew he was the man for the job, so I wouldn't let it rest.  I pushed and pushed and he eventually agreed to be the public face of my contests.  I gave him $10M for prizes, and asked him to get on with it.  And he did. and the contest was a success.  I entered it, but was excluded from being in the running for a prize, which was fair enough, and it gave the other entrants a chance.

It was so successful that we quickly decided to have another contest.  This contest.

Again, I entered, but more just for the love of writing, as I knew the other entrants needed a level playing field to be in with a shot.  But things started to go wrong.  Matt's contests sustained their first accusation of corruption, and their first fatality.  Still, one of each isn't a bad record for a writing contest.  But then Matt started telling me how I should run my crew.  What I should be doing with my people and how I should conduct myself on the Streets.

And that's not all.  He also reduced my numerous stories of masculine love and prison diaries by claiming they were just stories of "guys banging guys."  How dare a writer slander the work of another writer?  He also, shamefully, made wild accusations about a heinous murder that took place in our recent history.  

It is, therefore, with great regret that I officially withdraw my funding from this contest, and formally announce that I will be running my own contest.  Details will follow.

Matt - I like you, I like your writing, but you crossed two lines that you shouldn't have.  I'd be a patsy and a fool not to take the course of action that I am currently taking.  Maybe we can work together in the future, but for now, I'm having nothing to do with your contest.

I'm also having money worries, so this is a prudent and pragmatic decision as well as a moral one.

This is a telegram that I just received.  This speaks volumes.  Matt is the one who hasn't changed.  He is still barking orders, trying to belittle me and ordering me around.

Don't blame you one bit Kirsty.  If some bitch-ass chomo tried telling me how to run my crew when I was calling the shots back in the yard, I would have caught that motherfucker in the chow hall and cut his belly open so wide his guts would have poured into his bowl of prison muesli.  Any one of the reasons you listed for backing out alone would have been enough for me to say FUCK THIS MOTHERFUCKER but a combination of all of them?  You demonstrated a lot of patience and proved yourself the better person in the end.  Good luck with your other contest, and if this Matt_Murdock ever decides he wants to conquer his inner-BITCH and become the man he aspires to be I'll be glad to help him.  I'll have that motherfucker doing so many burpees his eyeballs will bleed.
