So yh, basically i've been looking to get a new phone for quite a while but I have no clue what to get. Had a whole range, Iphone 3gs/4 blackberry curve, sony ericsson W995, the list goes on and on but I seem to get bored of phones pretty quickly. 

I'm a texting fanatic if that helps, I text more than I phone, you can say i'm pretty lazy when it comes to talking lol. 

Ive been saving up for quite a while now about a couple of months and have saved up £400 ($648.48) , from b-days and what-not, if anyone asks for my budget lol, I could stretch to about £450($729.54), but that's a maximum.

So yh, the main question is, what phone should I get, and if you have a phone; What phone have you got and any particular reason I should get yours?

Although I am not sure what phones are available for your carrier, I can assure you that after all of my phones and using of others that I would pick something on the android platform every time. I have never had a more functional phone/OS than with my current android (I have the HTC Incredible)

Droid X - love it.  All kinds of apps.  Speed is good.  Touch screen no problem.  Camera is a little big, but I live with it.  Does everything I want.  My emails come through generally quickly.  Screen is big so I can play MR when necessary.  Sweet phone.  Make sure you get the protective case(s) and chargers.  They may add a little to the price. 

I would also recommend any Android phone, I have the Galaxy S and love it, thoguh a new version is coming out shortly, and as Drexler said, The HTC range is top notch too.

Be prepared to see a massive difference in battery life though due to constant data connection, you can obviously switch that off and power save in other ways, but defo androids for me!

The Mrs has a Blackberry torch though and loves that, for a texter that would be a good option as you have a quesrty keypad that slides out and  the touch screen functionality....but it aint android obviously and you may have to pay more as blackberrys require an additional feature to fully function so be careful.

Yes I would also recommend an android phone. I have the HTC Incredible and I love it. Rico has the HTC Inspire and his is better than mine. I love texting on these phones. I thought it wasnt going to be good for texting since it is a touch screen and no QWERTY keypad but as soon as I got it I loved texting on it.

             The best parts of the phone is the variety of apps you have available at your finger tips, the camera (8.0megapixels), and it's all around style. The bad parts are insignificant. The battery tends to die out quicker if you use certain apps frequently (but that happens with most smartphones) and can be avoiding by charging it at night while sleeping or something. The other bad part I am noticing is that with certain apps it freezes (but this might be from having too many apps). Overall, its a really good system and I recommend having it.

Well I am quite partial to my iPhone, it has some very nice features with the 2 camera positions and the ability for video calling to someone who has an iPhone or with the available skype app. My word of caution when looking into getting any smart phone make sure that your contract has enough data! Any phone with a decent browser you will find yourself playing around on the web often.

I agree with any of the HTC range. I have an HTC Wildfire myself. More of a basic HTC, but still has all the functionality. Very happy so far

I agree with Paxton. My best friend just got the Droid X and it is fucking incredible. It can do pretty much anything from play ROMS, to sync with a wii remote to play old-school nintendo games, epic variety of FREE APPS (gotta love opensource), the HD screen is orgasmic on the eyes. Also I don't know if you've seen the commercials for it or not, but the "Swype" texting actually works really well and sounds to me by the thread that it would fit you well.

If you text alot then Id stick with the Blackberry. Thats why I have mine lol...I got a BB Bold and love it.

Have to say, in regards to the texting, just tried the Swype method instead and it's top notch.

ANDROID!

Having tried both android phones, symbiant, comon phones, as well as iphone 3gs and 4, i gotta say, i prefer the 3gs cover, but like the clearness of the ip4.. As such of course it must be jailbroken..

I absolutely love my samsung galaxy s tbh. Amazing phone. one thing the galaxy has that the Iphone can't do which I've found to be essential is that I can carry a spare battery around in my wallet and just put that in if my phone dies. Iphone can't do that, and I find out essential with thebattery life of smart phones being pretty poor. Swype is amazing too lol.

I've got one of those Nokia things that have been around for years. It texts and phones and everything. Just what I need from a mobile.
