Kirsty has been up all night, agonising over the decision that she has to make...  She makes her way to the podium and starts to speak.

"Friends, firstly, thanks to those who entered the contest: Meliodass, OldBumMaggy, Mandalore, __________I_________, Carmine and Zapata.

They produced excellent work, of that there is no doubt.

And now, for the moment that everyone is waiting for...  Who won?

Well, I actually felt the quality of the work was of a very high standard, and someone from my own crew entered, as did a former boss of mine, so I have decided that the winner is...

ALL OF THEM!

I'm going to split the prize pot among all six entrants.  

For the next contest, I'm really gonna need to get a couple more judges involved.  I found this very difficult - so in interests of fairness, everyone gets something $4.16M in this case!

Does this seem fair to everyone?  And will the entrants enter the next contest?

Sisyphus overhears that the writing contests winners will be announced soon and so with that goes to track down Kirsty to find out who had won. While he did not enter due to low confidence after finishing fourth place in his own attempts at joining in on one of these things a few weeks back, he was still excited to see which of the entrants would get that impressive first place.

ALL OF THEM!

All of the hair stood up on his entire body. Could it be? Everyone was a winner? No loser? Sharing the wealth? These words all seemed so familiar to him, but had been blocked out of his mind for some reason. Suppression, maybe? Wait... it couldn't be, could it? This was the idea he had for the contest he had entered.

With a scowl on his face, Sisyphus walked over to the winners section.

Congratulations to you all, you lucky son of a bitches. Attempting to play it off as playful banter he began to laugh loudly and aggressively, his eyes still showing pain more than happiness. Why was he never lucky? First a fourth place finish, and now watching others bask in the glory of what was rightfully his idea.

I hope you're all happy with yourselves.

A few tears began to form in his eyes and he knew that this meant it was time to depart. So with that he ran out of the vicinity of the winners and towards his home where he would stick to doing the more mundane mafia things like robbing post offices and give up on writing competitions... forever.

Sisyphus - if you enter something in the next two hours, and it meets with the approval of myself and one other independent judge, then you can be included in the winner's circle.

My aim is to foster a creative writing community.

Just as he was about to turn the corner and be gone for good, Kirsty's words echoed into his ear and he stopped in his tracks completely... dare he stay and write? What if he's hurt again? His mind was racing, but quickly a sentence was composed and ready to be spit out of his mouth box.

Question, do you have an independent judge already in mind? I know this may sound a bit unorthodox but I'm willing to be that person for you. In fact I am very good at being unbiased, even towards myself and while there's a very good chance that I would give my writings a pass, that would only be because I'm very gifted at the craft according to my mother.

I'm delighted to hear it, Kirsty, and while I considered my piece to be a heartbreaking work of staggering genius, I do not mind sharing the pot with my fellow contestants. If future contests continue to offer me the opportunity to pad my bank account with more millions, you can bet I'll be there. 

Sisyphus - usually I'd use the late, great Matt Murdock, but the  brains he would use to judge are currently splattered all over some windowless basement somewhere.

But yes, I do have an independent judge in mind.  But you can help me judge the next contest?

Jimmy is wondering to himself why his short story was over looked and not added to the six winners pile, he spent a good hour coming up with the story. And he is pretty sure it met the criteria of the rules.

by my calculations, $25,000,000 divided between seven winners is $3,571,438. I’ll just take $3,500,000, you can call the $71,438 an administration fee on your end. 

You know, JimmyTheWeed, I actually hereby ban you from all writing contests, and your entry into this once is cancelled.

I don't like your attitude, and I suspect you of wrongdoing.

The creative writing community needs sensitive people, not oafish characters like you ready to start pointing fingers and trash-talking those who make a simple administrative error.

So that means the other six winners get a bigger cut of the $25,000,000 prize pool. Instead of $3,571,438 each, they will now win $4,166,666 each. Make sure you pay them accordingly.

And what, exactly, are you going to do if I don't do as you say?  You're a weakling.  You've nothing on me.  Get back in your box, you fucked up little midget.

Didn’t say I was going to do anything, just pointing out the fact that if the winners pool got smaller, the prize each contestant wins gets bigger, in case you may have over looked that fact.
