Smurfette my ancestor like all others of my lineage have always done everything from the goodness of their heart. This does not mean that her actions were entirely correct. Those that have taken the time the get to know my lineage know what I am about. Those who have only tried to ostracize my lineage have a deep seated hatred for themselves, and my only hope  is that  they find balance in themselves.

 She was shot because she gave the exact same level of respect she received back. She mirrored it back at the person. While this was perfectly in her right to do so, it was inappropriate because the person who was being disrespectful to her, out ranked her.

  In this thing of ours all we have is the hierarchy of rank and this must be respected at all times.   In my opinion, she should have been demoted not shot for her transgression, because the person that outranked her should have been a better example. After all it is the responsibility of those higher ranked in thing of ours  to teach and guide those lower ranked than themselves.  That is all I have to say on the  Smurfette incident and my lineage.

No.  This is silly, in the amount that it is not true.  Smurfette said some ridiculous, disgusting things.  Some so outrageous that city hall chose to erase the words from the collective memory of those paying attention in the street.  She did not mirror anyone's respect back to them.  As a casual observer, not involved in any way, I was appalled.  There are no circumstances where anyone in my family would come to these streets, speak to someone the way she did, and expect to live.  Being a part of this world means understanding how to conductor yourself a hell of a lot better than that.  

Let us pretend; however, for a moment that Smurfette was mirroring the respect given her.  She was speaking to men who have been given the nod to run their own operations.  While there is status afforded to Made members from any city, being made doesn't make you the boss. Made is supposed to mean that you already know better.  It is not up to the leaders of another city to teach button men how to act in public.  

A demotion?  Once you're made, your're made.  Blood in blood out.  Expecting that your mother would be demoted is a joke.   

I don't know anything about your bloodline at all.  You say that if I had taken the time to get to know your lineage I would know what you're about.  I would know the goodness in your heart.  You have an opportunity to start off fresh in this community.  My advice to you would be to remember that your words are all we have to judge you by.  I heard that somewhere years ago, and it has stuck with me ever since.  I hope you take it to heart.
