Splinter had made a name for himself as a hard hitting no nonsense Journalist with the Sewer Pipe. Given that he was only six years of age, publishing a newspaper was a little beyond the capabilities of Gecko. However, like most kids, his grasp of technology was way above that of his foster father, so Gecko had decided to make a news broadcast instead on Radio. His Uncle Fidd had leaned on the Fair Department Store, co-owners of WMAQ Radio with the Chicago Daily News and gotten him a slot, seemed the easiest way to get the kid out from under his feet in the HQ... not like a six year old was gonna rob grannies or wack people... yet.
Continuity Announcer: And now something new to WMAQ Radio, The News at Six, sponsored by Haywards Military Pickle, made from wholesome Vegetables blended to a mellow flavour, not too sweet nor yet to sharpe. It has to be Haywards Military Pickle. And now your host, Gecko. Gecko: The Time is 5.30pm, and its time for the News at Six. Today's Headlines: New York's duplicity fails to derail the world. Bong! Nipper, Latom and _Tish_ Move to The Big Apple. Bong! King Fidd, Ruler of North Side. Bong! Nipper Nipped in the Bud Bong! Good afternoon. Former New York leader, Koyuki, for reasons known only to himself decided to go to war with the rest of America in the early hours of Thursday morning. In what experts are calling the worst planned first wave in the history of early morning back stabbings, Koyuki lead a handful of loyal troops into battle, managing to kill Don Grin-07 of Chicago and Don Fatherjack of Detroit before the battle quickly turned against them and the obituaries filled up with members of New York. Someone came to the streets claiming to be the son of Don Edge, who had quickly become the 7th Victim of the war. He claimed a moral victory, saying that trey had only tried to live in peace, and therefore they were stabbing their friends in the back in the name of peace, because those who they had stabbed in the back weren't peaceful, only those doing the stabbing, before being struck down by the Gods for having a very apt yet unsavoury name. This despite the fact that Godfather West had personally vouched for the loyalty and trustworthiness of Koyuki, only to have him spit in his eye. Koyuki himself, shortly before he died, came out to claim that his botched attack had been revenge for the previous takedown of LA and out of a fear that New York would be next. Having spoken to Don Zapata, the current leader of Chicago, we were assured that New York, thanks mostly due to GF West, were considered allies in high standing, and there had been no plan to remove them from power, the LA takedown being down to a mixture of incidents that left their exact loyalty unknown. The one shining beacon of hope for New York came from Consigliere Donna who laid down his?/Her? life in exchange for all those at Wiseguy or below from New York to be spared. This offer was agreed to, and at 11.38am Donna died at his own hands. This was obviously the actions of a brave leader who cared for those under their control unlike Koyuki who didn't even bother to inform half of New York that there even was a war. Despite the loss of several Key players, Detroit and Chicago quickly started to rebuild. More after this break.
The Fair Store, at the corner of State and Adams. The Fair Store is still, as it always has been and undoubtedly always will be, the store of the people, the down-town shopping center for the Savers, the market place for the Thrifty. 20,679 Physicians say "Luckies are less irritating" IT'S TOASTED Your throats protection against irritation against cough.
Gecko: Following the destruction of New York at the hands of its own leader, Chicago and Detroit wasted no time in taking over the running of the city, thereby preventing it from falling into the hands of infamous bad man, Tyler Durden. In a street speech, Don Nipper said, "My own operation will be taking the central district of Brooklyn. Tish's family will be setting up in the Manhattan district. And Latom will be starting her own family in the thick of it down in the Bronx. There will be an abundance of opportunities and work for all manner of mobsters. We welcome you to pay us all a visit." Several noted mobsters including LonelyWolf, Simplicity and __________I_________ came out to wish the trio their best with rebuilding the historic city of New York. Don Nipper did manage to throw a spanner into the works early on though, making a separate speech where he revealed that he wasn't actually from China, and that Nipper was simply a nickname his father had called him, his Father being none other that dastardly villain, Disorder. For those unfamiliar with the name, Disorder had been a big cheese in the mafia almost 3 years ago, who had ruled the underworld with an iron fist from his HQ in Las Vegas. No one had been able to stop Disorder, and it was only his arrest and execution by City Hall that put an end to his rule. Many mobsters literally ran for the hills after hearing Nipper's announcement, preferring to believe that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree than give the man a chance to shine in his own right, a man who had been pretty benign and humble for the preceding 68 days. Gecko: Consigliere Fidd has proclaimed himself King of the North following Cityhall's closure of LA and expansion of Chicago and other cities. In a public announcement, Fidd, who has only managed to make it to Consigliere in 70 days, said, "I hereby declare that from this point henceforth thou... shall refer to yours truly as King Fidd, King of the North, King of Kings, King of Chicago or King Fiddy Fidd Fidd the First of his name and last of his kind in the history of the world." King Fidd went on to enact several new and somewhat unique laws for Northside, outlawing Mugging against him specifically on pain of death, an attendance tax for anyone visiting the district of 5k per visit, or $100k for life, and outlawing female flatulence within the borough. These new laws have been updating in the City Laws section of your Mobster Handbook, and its advisable that you pay attention to them in if visiting the borough. In other news, the News at Six would like to congratulate DaBaby on setting up in The Waterfront, EdwardTeach on setting up in Paradise, Stitch in Summerlin and JohnnyCage in Corktown. The Six cities have never been in safer hands or so it seems. Finally, we would like to offer our sympathies to the family of Kirsty who passed away during New York's treacherous attack on the rest of the World. A fledgling crewleader in her own right, we are sure she will be missed by her family. And that's all from me, Gecko, this evening. Stay tuned to WMAQ Radio for our next featured program, an hour long session of Louis Armstrong Hits. And remember folks, PJ Masks all shout Hooray, because into the night, we save the day.
