What is your idea? Remove funerals for characters who retire. Has your idea already been suggested in some form or another before? I checked as far back as I was willing. What does your idea entail? People who retire aren't actually dead. Therefore don't require a funeral. I find it odd that people post RIP at a funeral of a retired person. I suggest a leave a message function instead. Obviously the user can't return with this character. So instead of 'You are dead' replace the message with 'You've retired from this businees' (or something to that effect). The user will see any messages left for their retired character when they start a new character. How can your idea be successfully implemented into the game as it stands? Retired members won't appear in obits anymore. Maybe a new link for recently retired. What major changes would be needed to make your idea work? I'm no coder, but I'm hoping this could be possible to achieve. I think I explained the changes needed earlier. What is the positive impact of your idea? Adds element of realism to the status of retirement. What is the negative impact of your idea? Not sure there is one. How may your idea affect the rest of the userbase? People will leave messages to friends who retire and hopefully reconnect if they return with a new character |

Just like with real life, the funeral isn't for the dead, its for the people attending for closure and to make it a memorable moment to reflect on. Just because someone suicides or retires their character shouldn't force their friends, coworkers and enemies to reflect in the other forums in a unorganized fashion. I think a one-stop-shop is a better deal than the possibility of threads scattered by multiple people in multiple places. |
