"Look, it's simple. You can count it your damn self or you can trust me." Audacity stared at the gentlemen before her that were questioning her money laundering skills. They stared back at her, she rolled her eyes, and then started packing all the money back into the bags. She didn't waste her time and she surely wasn't going to waste it on these guys. Some hotshots thinking they were gonna be the next big guys on the block. "Wait!" The guy slammed his hand on the table and gritted his teeth. "Sorry, doll. We're just used to doing business with a different sort of crowd." She looked at them extremely unimpressed. Then rolling her eyes again she started taking the money back out and then placed her gun next to it. Her hand right on top as she leaned over towards them. "You mean, a woman?" She smiled at him as she leaned closer and saw him starting to sweat. "Spare me, sweetheart, you aren't used to doing business with anyone. You're so green I could launder you instead." The man in the back chuckled at her jab before quickly shutting up once all the others glared at him. The man who originally spoke to her puffed out his chest and scoffed. "You should learn to respect those you're working with, bitch." Audacity's hand snapped so hard and so quick that before anyone could blink her gun was at his chin. "Your name must be Richard...because you're quite the dick." She licked her lips while all his men had their guns now pulled on her. "You don't survive on these streets by questioning the person who cleans your money and expect to be treated with respect. You really think if I pull this trigger your men will shoot me? Do they respect you that much? Huh?" She winked at the gentlemen behind him and then lowered her gun before motioning for all the men behind her, who had been chilling in the back where the lighting was too dim to notice them, to start packing up the bags for Dick and his men, while also collecting their payment. "Next time when you want my services...Bring more men if you're gonna try to shake me down like that." His group of about six cowered slightly when they saw the fifteen men who now lined the walls and table watching them. The whole time they thought she was alone, the way she liked it. She kissed the last one of her men's cheek and waved goodbye. You could tell he was the one who was in charge when she wasn't around. The men snatched up their newly laundered money and scuffled out to their cars. She was newer on the block, but she had earned her boss's trust. If she was to be a prissy little girl she wouldn't keep that trust or respect. She needed to keep bringing in the dough and, well, she was good at that. Money was her thing. Making it, cleaning it, and tossing it up to the man in charge. She wasn't like her mother, her mother reveled in fashion and toying with men to get the information she wanted. Audacity liked to play a little rough, a little gritty, and if needed she would use being a woman to her advantage. Yet, mostly it was hard to get the respect around here when you had your balls on your chest and not between your legs. She also only gathered the information she needed to avoid the cops. She preferred to stick to the shadows and work behind the scenes. Money laundering was an easy way to do that. She had her meeting places, a different spot each time. While it rotated between five different ones, those she did the work for would never know which till the moment they got the call that they had to pick it up. If she ever felt a location was getting to hot from local heat she would sell it and find a new spot to add to the mix. She had her fill of sleazy men in suits and decided to head back to her place and enjoy a hot bath. With her new "button" she had upgraded a little from the slum she used to live in. Now she lived in a quiet neighborhood. One of those respectable ones. The people here were so oblivious to the friends they entertained. The man right next door killed his associate the night before, but these folks were so full of themselves they couldn't see past their nose. The rich...oh how flabbergasted they would be if they knew the secrets they all had. Yet, for now she just wanted a nice glass of wine, maybe some candles, and the relaxing sound of silence. |
