Ennio pulled his collar tighter to his face. Besides the light rain, he certainly did not wish to be recognized in this crowd.

Commissioner Mitchell continued to rattle on about Sean's commitment to the community and how he'd be tougher on crime. Sean's death was a surprise and travesty. The truth being, good ole Georgie had to be rich in his own right from the channels of cash flowing by him. He had to be blind from all the bright dollars going by.

Sean Oehl earned $6,226,593 for Ennio alone, and word was the department was littered with corrupt cops.

Integrity.. Now we are slipping integrity into the speech? Please?! Not happening with goodman Sean. Many a time he went above and beyond to locate a drug deal to help the Bounty Law coffers.

Ennio looked over at the widow and three young children. Three... well, he didn't spend all his time with me at the bar and alleys. Ennio needed to look at his own work life balance and figure out if he'd leave anything for anyone, or would his legacy be a drug mule. A shove brought Ennio back from his thoughts and he found himself eye to eye with Mitchell's deputy commissioner. His eyes tried to place Ennio.

Your face, you seem familiar. Do you work in the department?

Nah, I come by for other reasons. Thanks. Lovely service. Need to run.

Ennio pushed his way out to the street and made a mental note to look after Oehl's family. Kin is kin, and until he had his own family, he'd look after those who looked after him.

Bregetta, that was the best Kartoffelkloesse, I have ever eaten.

Ennio finished his potato dumplings and sausages, licking his fingers. He grinned at the boys across the table who really needed a lesson in the use of a hankerchief.

Sean Oehl's wife gave a soft snort from the kitchen. Her apron was wound tight around her waist as she hurried the dishes through the sink. Her boys, Hans, Ernst and Friederich sure were evidence of her sturdy German cooking. Ernst golden hair was so long, Ennio had mistaken him for a girl during his father's funeral service a month earlier. And Ennio was known for his accurate eye. Oops.

Bregetta was a bookkeeper and working hard to make ends meet. She was delighted to discover Ennio, when he introduced himself as the lawyer of Sean's private will. The packet of cash went to quick work in restoring her home. She had given up any hope after her late husband's death. Thinking he had squandered all his money on booze. Ennio drew a lavish lie, saying he spoke at length of his lovely wife and sons. Ennio warmed to the idea that he had an education, and the fake life he drew for Bregetta was one he could easily slip into. By the easy laughs and invitations to meals, he was sure he could. A consideration for sure. He tried to remain loyal to his old compatriot friend, and decided it was time to leave before he had a tough decision to make.

He walked to the door, held his dinner bag and gave a shout goodbye to the boys. For sure, Hans could possible join Bounty Law crew in time. He had the toughness for sure.

Always a pleasure Bregetta.

Oh, thank you, she replied as she twirled her hair and gave a low goodbye as Ennio skipped down the stairs.
