Chicago, The Windy City. Home of The Grin Gang, named after infamous mobster, Grin-08. Like 07 before him, 08 had an eye for talent, and a need for hard workers and smart asses alike. This need was a perfect match for young Ragnarok. He had joined the Grin gang as a lowly associate, cleaning bins, running errands, constantly spending his meager savings to feed Elodin's never ending stomach. They had been hard days, but they have been good days. He had learned many things, vital things to progress his future in this world.

Over time, he earned 08's trust, and was promoted to Left Hand Man. Gone were the days of cleaning bins and running errands, but the constant drain on his wallet to feed Elodin still existed. Despite his disdain for being broke all the time, he carried on. Growing the family and being vital in whatever way possible was the only way forward, so he endured.

After a brief period of time as Grin's right hand man, an offer to take up a crew of his own in Seattle was presented to him. Such an offer was impressive, and he quickly agreed to take the deal. A few days later, he arrived in Seattle. After greasing a few hands, and overpaying for some properly, he established his HQ in Waterfront Seattle.

The Dock Workers

Ladies, Gentlemen, and Elodin, I present to you The Dock Workers. We operate out of Waterfront, and we control everything that comes from the ports. If you want something shipped in, reach out. I'll take a cut of the action, and ensure it arrives to your destination without issue. My operation is open to all hard working, dedicated individuals who arn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and do the things that others may frown upon.

I've joined Curtis who has taken over Pionner Square, and Taps-Man who is running his operation in Ballard. Together, the three us will rebuild Seattle. Before I wrap this us, I'd like to thank Curtis, Grin-08, Elodin, Hush, Cromwell, Octopuslegs, and most my lovely right hand woman Cassi for your support. Without your individual friendship and guidence, I wouldn't be here today.

I invite you all down to my work-in-progress Head Quarters for some light refreshments, just as long as you leave Elodin at home. Thank you all.

Hush was taking a stroll through the streets of Seattle on a clear evening. His new operation in Chicago gave him new business opportunities that he was following up on. As he tossed his nub of a cigarette to the ground, mashing it into the cement like he dreamt of one day doing to Elodin’s tail. He doesn’t watch where he’s waving it. And it constantly tickled the back of Hush’s knees. It was embarrassing when he was caught giggling from the torturous tail. He noticed his friend and colleague Ragnarok giving the final touches on his new HQ. He rushed over to shake his friends hand, proud of the accomplishments he was making. 
 

“Rags, my friend. I’m proud of what you’re putting together here. We grew up together in the Chicago syndicates, and it lifts my heart to see you rising to these heights. If there is anything I can ever do for you, all you need to is ask. You’ve got Chicago’s full support.”

Cassi stood off to the side, listening to her boss as he gave his speech. She was beaming with pride for him as she listened. Waiting until the cheers and applause died down a bit, she stepped over and gave him a hug.  

"Thank you for your kind words. It is an honor and a pleasure to take on this endeavor with you. Our bloodlines go back a very long time and I know that you will do amazing things here in Seattle. Congratulations Boss. I'm so proud of you."

She smiled brightly before taking her leave. There was work to be done and she wanted to get a headstart.

Curtis arrived at the gathering and listened to Ragnarok's announcement. When the new head of Waterfront was finished introducing his new Dock Workers project, Curtis walked over and embraced the new arrival.

"Ragnarok. I was delighted when Grin told me there was a chance you could come and help with the rebuilding job in Seattle. When he confirmed it, I knew we had the foundation for a strong city. With The Dock Workers taking care of all goods being shipped in and out of the city, I know we will get what we need, and get it where it needs to be. The flow of business begins and ends in the harbor. I can think of no finer man to control such a pivotal aspect of our trade. 

Welcome my friend."

Curtis embraced his old friend warmly before making room for other well wishers.

Cromwell shouldered and nudged his way through the small assembly until he was close enough to slam a hand into Ragnarok's back and clutch his shoulder in a hearty congratulatory grasp. 

"What a terrific day, Rag, what a fine occassion! I can't wait to see what you make of this opportunity. If it's anything like the work you put into Chicago, The Dock Workers are going to be a runaway success. Take a break from the Pacific Northwestern rain and come see us in Chicago every once in a while, would you? God damn is it ever damp out here, like Elodin after a dive through the bins at our local Pho place."

Stagging over drunk and smelling of opium Dirty-Sanchez manages to to get out "Great to see you in that bold suit Sir Ragnarok," before ushered away by one of Ragnarok's most trusted men.
