Yeah, I was a 90s kid.  Went to raves, saw Oasis, liked Suede, all the trendy things.

But listening to Jagged Little Pill actually causes flashbacks to sitting in rooms with a load of other people my ages getting wasted.

Is that cool?  Is Alanis Morrissette cool?  Is any particular type of music cooler than nother? 

Mainly Prodigy and various DJ's from the rave scene

Early 90's I wasn't really into music but mid to late 90's would have been happy hardcore or garage. When I couldn't sleep at night I'd play happy hardcore & fall asleep listening to that.

Alanis is definitely cool.  I saw her in the summer of 1997 standing outside in the rain at an outdoor concert venue with the only ex that I now hate.  A better memory is when I went to Lollapalooz II in 1992 with four of my buds and saw Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Chili Peppers, and others.  Wish I would have stayed sober for that one, but noooooooo....

Happy hardcore isn't particularly soulful or emotive music, or at least, it wasn't for me.  I went to raves every six weeks for a period of time, and saw Charley Lownoise & Mental Theo once.  I hated it - I felt the comedic vibe was at odds with what the rave scene should have been, which was togetherness.  But then again, I am something of a hippy.

I preferred Dave Angel, Derrick May.  I saw Sasha and was underwhelmed.

But, yeah, I had a tape (LOL) that had Jagged Little Pill on one side and What's the Story on the other, and that was the soundtrack to a hundred ecstasy drenched parties.  

Backstreet boys, Five, Bryan Adams and some solft rock like romantic ballads.

I had quite the journey during the 90's musically. Started with pop and Rock, then moved in to a rock metal phase before going big in to indie. The indie phase definitely had a crossover with happy hardcore though and that was my main genre mid to late 90's Hixxy ftw!

90s were defining for sure...

Although our crew is quite enrapt with a 1985 release A-ha 'Take On Me' ~ word is that it makes a great funeral song.

Perhaps a slightly later song, the 1987 wonder Rick Astley 'Never Gonna Give you Up' might soon edge it out as background funeral parlour music

The same as i was listening to in the 80s the 90s pretty much sucked for music.

Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, 98 degrees, New kids on the block ❤️

I was listening to just about anything country, ganster rap, heavy metal, grunge, anything but gospel and rave music 

Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, so many great bands in that era.
