Wheeler looks on at the people discussing "hate crime" and shakes his head. He decides to put his own two cents into the conversation and says 

"The problem, as I see it, with being able to label something as hate crime, and punish, or atleast, accuse the perpertraters of this alleged hate crime for it, is it gives people a level of protection which might not be afforded to others.

As a straight white male, if I was to be shot, and then my son came to the streets crying about it being a hate crime, he'd be ridiculed. This is the Mafia. We shoot each other on a semi-regular basis. Its just kind of what we do.

Now, if someone was to creep up on you in the street while you're taking a stroll with your family and whisper into your ear this is for being a *insert minority label/insult here* just before they pull the trigger on you, then it might be fair enough for your children to label it a hate crime and act on it. But just your being that minority doesn't automatically make your shooting a hate crime. You're a part of the Mafia, it's the risk you take.

Therefore, to summarise, stop whining about hate crimes unless you have concrete evidence of yours or your parents shooting having been directly attributable to you being targeted because of your characteristics. Otherwise, you're just another crank being a crank."

Wheeler then takes out his tobacco and begins rolling himself a smoke whilst waiting to hear others opinions.
