So we’ll say I knew some people back when who would do this so called “witness statement catching” The stuff dates back since before most of you were even here. However I do believe that they fixed it to a point when the game change come where you could no longer see everyone in your locals. The reason being is because you could no longer know exactly who was with you in the locals and online. Now like anything else in time the game has evolved like it always continues to do. With that being said we move onto the hustle points that were introduced to the game and also the fact that with rolled stats you know exactly what your character is capable of. So anybody can point the issue out but I believe the best thing is to also have a solution. (or at least maybe something that could be worked with) The issue is the people who do this witness statement catching are not dumb by no means, they are a well organized group who understand the game in ways that many of you are still yet to figure out. Let me lay out a little example So the local Don says at his back room meeting with a beautiful table having the letters WA burned into them and many high-ranking member sitting around it listening at any given point. The don says “hey I have a problem with this little Harry Cox” The Consig sitting across the table from a different family is quick to jump in. “ You know I have a problem with that little Harry Cox too” Before the consig could even take a seat the little trigger-happy Boss also jumps up and says “ I say we wack that Harry Cox” The don quickly taking his place at the table tells the men and women of the table to calm down. We don’t want anything premature to happen before we are ready. So from the sounds of it Harry Cox is in deep and may end up getting wet tonight. You know swimming with da fish. back to the table The gentleman sitting to the left of the Don leans up towards the table and says ”OK it’s official then we’re going to wack this little Harry Cox tonight” First thing we need to do is gather locals and find out what back alley this Cox is hanging in. The young lady at the table who may be only the rank of the capo leans In and says “ I just went to the eye doctor and have been told I have perfect 101 vision, I can find Harry Cox anywhere. The Don speaks up “ Are you sure you can find him? I heard he is quite stealthy and fits in the tightest places not seen by many.” The lady speaks up and says “ Why I’m sure I can find that Harry Cox. Let me just go cash in a few of these golden tokens I won at the casino last night so I can fly around in my private jet looking. I hear the market place is doing quite well so I will not be long. Tick-tock tick-tock 15 minute pass All of a sudden the door slam back open in the office where the table is. The young lady and 200 bodyguards push in with her. She says “ I found him, first I looked in the New York logbook and seen he was not here with me so I flew into Las Vegas hoping he thought he was big playing at the casinos. Sadly that was little to no prevail so I hopped a flight over to Seattle and found him sitting here in waterfront.” The Don with a smirk on his face says to her “ Is there anyone else with him moving around in the streets” she looks confused and says “well how would I ever know that? There are so many people here. The Don leans up and says well for five of those gold coins you won at the Casino last night I can sell you this amazing watch that not only keeps multiple timers on it for any occasion it has a special feature that is almost like magic when you look into the logbooks or as many call them the locals, it will now define with a bold lettering the people who are actively walking the streets with you. Tick-tock tick-tock a couple minutes pass on the clock. She looks up and says wow this watch is amazing I can now see even better than ever before. She say there was just a made man walking with me but it looks as though he has gone away. The Don with a big smile on his face slammed his fist down on the table and says “ Everyone go get on your private jet and fly to waterfront Seattle, we are going to wack this Harry Cox now. Obits: Harry Cox Dead The Don asked “ Did we get The witness statement?” Yes sir a man in the back replies. “Just got done tossing it into the fireplace, that Harry Cox is going to be stiff one in the morning. The Don replies perfect I will send out a mass mail now asking for the witness statement. Job well done once again. Now I know that’s a “Harry” situation and a quick example but the understanding of how this is done is all there. So now back to the game evolving like it always does. I think what we should do that would not only make this next to impossible to be done anymore it would also completely change the way wars are done. Simply take everyone from the rank of made man and above out of the locals. This way ia list can still be made without issue. Outside of that there is no reason for any one person to truly be able to know who is all in and active within a city at any given point I’m sure there’s plenty of room for improvement on this ideal but until something a major action is taken witness statement catching will always be a part of the game. If the witness statement catching is really going down in this specific way that you just illustrated then 98%+ of the time the leader of the soon-to-be-dead player already knows about it, and could very easily be persuaded into giving the exact location of the person being killed which sort of defeats the purpose and ends up making large operations more powerful while weakening smaller groups that don't have this same ability. Unless you're saying that even that should be private as well? At that point I think this may be a little too ambitious and completely changes the game. Don't know if I support that or not, but I don't think that I do. |

| These groups of people who do witness statement catching do not need to be of any significant rank. They just need one person with a gun, one person with 101 vision and a few people to help catch the witness statement. It requires nothing more than that. | |

Was just going off of your example up there where it is a bunch of Don's and Consigliere discussing the removal of someone they mistrust which funnily enough is the one thing this change would potentially not solve. Witness Statement catching will always be a thing and I think it should be viable, just more difficult. I'm all for being removed in the middle of the night if enough planning and effort goes into it and there's a chance that it could backfire. Making it so that it isn't district-based and instead everyone in the city can potentially get the WS would be a move I'd be more open to than completely removing locals for Made+. |

I personally like the idea. Its a new concept to the game that strikes made men and above off of the locals. This makes war harder and stops a few other things as well. Solid idea. It has my vote +1 all day |

This would for sure change how people have caught statements in the past at least for made and above. If this is truly a problem then I think it should be taken into consideration. |

Better yet, make it so CA's and residents of the city where the murder occurs catches the WS not people visiting from outside. They shouldn't have the vision in another city to catch the WS anyway no matter how active they are. This would end ws catching by the shooter's city |
