Best mafia film? Started by: Anton on Jul 18, '20 18:05

I will forever answer this question with Goodfellas. The most accurate representation of the mafia life movie wise imo. It is not glorified, and is basically accurate throughout the whole movie. I mean to get the actual Henry Hill to praise Ray Liottas's performance is crazy

Too many great options, gonna have to binge out soon!

I don't want to say the its best mafia film... but man I really enjoyed The Offer mini series. It was a great!

yes, have good options. I keep loving The Irishman movie a lot, even though i just watched the Godfather's movies. It was very well written and holds your attention until the end.

I don’t care what anyone says, the godfather cannot be topped. Especially as a whole, all of the films.
Iconic and unbeatable.

I'm a big fan of Bronx Tale. I liked the concept and the way the movie included a lot of Italian tradition.

I love Godfather I and II followed by Goodfellas.

Im not sure how the godfather isn't first on every single post.

The amount of shit that they went through to make that movie and the acting? next level.

I heard there were Real life people getting wacked by the real mafia to try and get the movie smashed,,,

The godfathers, goodfellas and casino but the movie gotti with armand Assante is seriously underrated.

Dornie Brasco and departed probably up there as well and Carlitos way even though it's not really about the mafia.

It has to be Goodfellas for me. The writing & plot of that film is second to none. I was so upset when Ray Liotta died.. absolute legend of a role!

My top picks would have to be The Godfather films but i do know a few others that were not too terrible

- The Boondock saints

- Goodfellas

- Once upon a time in America

- A Bronx Tale

- The Untouchables

and then theres the over hyped Scarface lol

The Untouchables, holy shit, amazing movie.

I liked your list, Madam_Rose. I would only add more two movies, Pulp Fiction and Mean Streets.

FredDurst I totally forgot about those movies!!

By far the godfather, to my opinion. Acting is really great and the story also, an icon in the movie-industry :)

I like others to but this one is on lonely top

obviously the godfathers, goodfellas, casino etc but stuff that's underrated like the gotti movie with armand asanti and gomorrah which is about the mafia in naples
Report Post Tip

goodfellas has to be the all time number one mafia film, closely followed by the other greats, donnie brasco, casino, god father(s), once upon a time in america. all classics but goodfellas takes the win for me personally.

when i was little the kids on the block carried my mother's groceries home, you know why? it was out of respect.

(i hope daily hustle considers this to be 'well thought out')

I love the Godfather series, the rise and fall of it all, Way too many great lines.

" A friend should always underestimate your virtues and an enemy overestimate your faults "

My father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the contract. "

" Leave the gun, take the cannoli. "

Though it's not a Mafia film but more Gangster orientated, Scarface is another great movie, Shows how Greed and Morals don't mix with that kind of business Leading to the demise of Tony Montana.

Then you have The Untouchables, Kinda shows you the perspective of the other side of that window with the federal government and how they brought down Al Capone.

Goodfellas it's simply the best as its about the street guys not the uppers, it is based on the life of a real associate who lived the life, the acting soundtrack and direction are second to none it was a masterpiece.

The original gotti movie Armand Assante and Antony Quinn play there parts so well its Al's way better then the new gotti film
Report Post Tip
The godfather is by far the best Mafia film
