Legend of the Grayfox: Legacy of Larceny Started by: Grayfox on Mar 04, '08 17:34
Heavy rain pelted the streets... yet the masses assembled. Torches roared, as did the angry crowd.

"Hang the bloody thief" They screamed.

A local shopkeeper spat on the ground as the criminal passed and his armed escorts passed. Soon enough they reached the gallows.

"Any last words." The local sheriff questioned.

"The thief is sorry he is to be hanged, not that he is a thief" The condemned replied.

He glanced out at the crowd and offered a smile to his wife and son. Tears streamed down both their eyes, he meant his words.

"Good-bye my love."
He muttered as the trapdoor fell beneath his feet. Fortunate for the thief his death would be quick. His eyes struggled but eventually locked onto his son across the courtyard.

The boy would bare the torch of thievery, as did his father's fathers. From his cradle, his father taught him the essentials and now the responsblity was on his shoulders to be his father's son. To be the Grayfox.

That day, the rich folk celebrated the death of an infamous criminal, while the slums and underworld mourned an iconic burglar. The son promised him, the celebration of the rich would be short lived.
