Yesterday evening, through the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago, my father had been minding his own business - busting degenerates from their cells, kneecapping those who wouldn't or couldn't pay
Whilst counting his meagre takings from the evenings work, he noticed a someone had successfully pinched his pocket
What a rascal - I mean honestly, I don't really give a shit, but perhaps he'll be the decent sort and send it back - maybe the pickpocket was just trying to impress a fellow mafioso - in which case, I'll tip my cap sir - good work
Without giving it too much though, my poor old Dad went back to counting his sheckles, but was disturbed once again - this time someone had taken a pop shot at him - now this WAS serious, but dear old Daddy managed to glimpse who it was - a slightly higher ranked individual from a Philly family.
Well, as you can imagine, Daddy dearest was irate - and more in fact - worried that this was the beginning of something more sinister - he found the nearest booth and rang in to his family. Within minutes, there came reassurance that this earner had been acting rogue and taking pot shots at junior members of another family was his way of acting out. A little bit of a prick it seems.
Daddy wasn't the only one who thought he was a prick of course, the sentiments echoed from both within his family walls - and from the kid's sponsor in Philly...where in times gone by, a grimmer view may have been taken on the sponsor, these days, encouraging people into the life was important, so a lighter hand perhaps was required when bringing kids through.
Daddy -not overly happy with the lay of the land though decided to visit his grave and piss all over it - not just on the guy - but I mean evewrywhere, the flowers, everything - my Dad after all had invested in this life -sometimes you have to spend money to make money after all - and this dipshit had tried to take that away - fuck him - in fact - fuck him twice, he was where he was supposed to be 6 feet under and drowning in the urine of his enemies. https://mafiareturns.com/comm/funeralhome.php?funeralid=2421565
Now, Daddy was aware this was frowned upon - but, frankly, given the crime he had be the victim of, this lesser crime was perhaps tasteless, but most certainly warranted.
I awoke this morning to find dearest Daddy dead in his bed - killed by his own boss, the very person tasked with having his back had seemingly come under scrutiny due to Dad's poor taste and decided, whether under pressure from others or not to punish the transgression with a bullet to the back of the head leaving the following message.
" Open disrespect in a funeral is not acceptable. Regardless of what the deceased did the debt is paid. Rest in peace "
Has nobody heard about proportional punishment around here? Yes, what Mac did was disrespectful - but lets face it, he had been the subject of a much larger disrepect himself. A boss is supposed to have his family's back - not surrender to appease the wider populous. |

Cash sighs and picks at his guitar. “Looks like another one of those keep your mouth shut and don’t get shot situations to me.” He said as he used finger quotations around... “keep your mouth shut and don’t get shot.” Cash strums our a few more lines with his head looking up as he gathers his thoughts. “Respect and omertà are two of the foundational blocks of this life of ours. 2 wrongs does not make a right, sir. Cheers.” |

Duggee stops and listens to the man tell his tale of woe about the death of his Father. Whilst sad it is not particularly old or different from so many others. "Woof woof. Ah woof. Woof woof woof wooof. Woof woof wooof woof." Duggee takes out a sheet of paper and holds it out to the young lad.
Yes Duggee, every crew I have been in has had a rule like this in the crew rules too. I can't believe that Clarkson doesn't have a similar rule in his own HQ. Even if his rules are as simple as Don't be a Dick, your father was most definitely a dick in his actions. And yes Duggee, for as long as I can remember the punishment for funeral disrespect has been death. |

Cash - not sure what Omerta has to do with this case ... it seems like you've been breastfed soundbites that you now consider to be fact
Duggee - punishments should be proportional rather than how they are currently viewed in the status quo |

There are a set of rules which we live, and die by. Cash has just told you what those two are. The first, which you broke, is respect. Yeah, you were disrespected, but that didn’t give you a pass to go and be disrespectful yourself. Omertà is simply the second, cash never accused you of having broken it. As for punishments being proportionate? This is the mafia. Not a tea party. Not nursery or kindergarten. We aren’t here to teach you how an adult should behave, would you prefer to have been made to go sit on the naughty step? Would that have been a more fitting punishment for your transgression? There are two, maybe three, punishments here in this thing of ours. The first, is death. That is the general, one size fits all punishment, and as an associate of a family, that is about all you can expect if you fuck up. Noone is about to go putting their neck on the line for a Goomba who doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. The second is a demotion. A very serious, but rarely used punishment, for lesser transgressions committed by a made man. There’s no point in demoting a goomba. He’s lost nothing through it. The third? A fine. A hefty one at that, and something I’ve only ever seen used once, a long, long time ago. Those are the punishments, and as i say, most of the time, you can only expect a bullet. Now rather than picking arguments with folk who are simply trying to educate you here in the streets, and risking having accusations of disrespect being levelled at you again, take the lesson, even if it is a bitter pill to swallow, and learn from it. Don’t go making the same mistakes your father did. |

Cash shakes his head at the obliviousness of Hairybaby. “Here you are, still talking. That is not omertà. Omertà is an oath to your boss to not only be silent, but also (to me) it’s the ability to deflect unwanted attention from yourself, your business operation and your family. Your soliloquy here in the streets suggest you know nothing about that. The fact that you did not bring up respect suggests to me that you already know you are being disrespectful - so I guess we don’t need to talk about that. We can just agree to disagree.” Cash plays a few chords on his guitar as he reflects. “I’ll be sure to visit your funeral and pay respect. I am sure it’s not far off. But, good luck with whatever it is you are trying to accomplish nonetheless!!” Cash leaves, knowing how these conversations usually degenerate into personal attacks and battling for the last word. |

Wheeler - much as I appreciate the lesson in decorum, and even in going through the ABCs of being a mafioso - what I'm challenging here is the status quo .
Death seems like an overly harsh default punishment for any offense. Given that my lineage has been around these streets some time - perhaps even longer than your good self, can we both agree to dispense with the condescending tone and actually debate the topic at hand. We've said elsewhere that sponsors shouldn't always be held accountable for the failures of the associates they home - largely down to the fact, we want to encourage new mafioso to the way of life. IU would contend that the hard punishments being dispensed for tasteless, but not much more than that behaviour would also send people packing from this way of life.
Cash - again you conflate omerta and the topic at hand. Though, what you suggest is that discussing anything of relevance in the streets is a breach of omerta - I'll watch in anticipation as your sense of ethical behaviour once again comes to the fore next time the reason for a war or a takedown by a larger force is discussed openly here.
You also suggest I won't last long around here - well, here's another revelation for ytou - the sky is blue fucktard. You think I didn't know that voicing dissent to the established way of things would end in my being 6 feet under? Of course I did - the real question though is why is debate such as a scary thing to you - is it because you might have to exercise thought and perhaps enter into discussion that requires thought rather than repeating what you hear elsewhere? |

While on his walk to the local ice cream parlor, Bandito notices a large crowd gathering around a soap box but can't see the person who's addressing the crowd. He walks towards the group of people to see who is giving the speech. As the speaker comes clearly into his point of view, he is met with a rush of horror and disgust when he sees what appears to be a toddler covered head to toe with hair. Bandito thinks to himself, "Man that is one hairy ass baby". He continues his stroll to pick up his Triple Scoop Cherry Sundae. |

I can see why you would get clipped for that; one of those unwritten rules that has now actually been written down. Personally, I probably wouldn't have killed one of mine for that. The victim was a shitbag and whilst pissing in his funeral is a pretty low response, it is clearly the lesser crime and if you want to act like a lowlife at the funeral, I'd likely just frown and get on with my day. |

I’ll apologise for assuming you were new to these streets Hairy Baby, I simply assume that someone with previous knowledge of this thing of ours would have known better. Perhaps you have been around longer than I have, my bloodline has been kicking around here for 11 years on and off. If you have, then my point stands even stronger than it did before. You should have known better. But it is done now, and Mac is dead. Nothing for it but to move on with life and remember, that no matter how long your bloodline has walked this soil, showing a lack of respect and decorum will get you killed. Now I hold no ill will towards you, and genuinely hope that you take the lesson to heart and show us that you do, indeed know better. Your father was killed for his actions, and now you’ve got a fresh start. |

Wheeler - I think you're missing the point - you're assuming that the lesson to learn here is my own rather than yours/the community's
Grin-08 - I should have said what you said, seems a little more succinct - what I would like to draw out on a little bit though is that this - like every other decision made around here leaves a lasting impression - in this case, the question that needs to be asked is whether anyone should join a crew where the CL backs his people or whether they are killing off those who make smaller infringement. Obviously up to each individual associate to decide, but this is exactly the type of thing that needs taking into account - if only things like level of aatrition within a crew were visible to people coming through
Jonatik - thanks for coming, place wouldn't be the same without you. |

Not sure why this is even an issue HairyBaby do you generally sign things you do not read? let me bring your attention to the respect section of the rules your ancestor signed
Please pay special attention to the last section, your ancestor was shot at I dealt with it accordingly so there was no need to do what your ancestor did tbh. |

Clarkson - maybe take heed from the fact the rule sucks and its strict enforcement is not proportional to the crime? a strongly worded letter may have sufficed - at the end of the day, it's your family to run - but don't let that disguise the fact it is also an indicator as to the type of leader a young mafioso may be joining. |

With Mr Clarkson’s previous response, I think that there’s nothing more to discuss here hairybaby. Your father signed the rules, which clearly state a breach of the specific rule we’re discussing would result in death, he then went on to break that rule and now his son is out here complaining about it. You accused Mr Clarkson of bowing to pressure from others, clearly this isn’t the case. He simply stuck by his guns and enforced the rules he had previously laid out. Kudos to you Mr Clarkson. Sorry for your loss HairyBaby, now let’s lay this matter to bed shall we? |

Tell me where in any walk of life would you find it acceptable to piss on someones grave?, so yes in my opinion the punishment is more than proportional to the crime you just don't do certain things in life and that is one of them, so yes I hope every young mafioso does see what type of leader I am, if you break the rules you yourself agree to then don't complain about the punishment when it is there in black and white, or should I just turn a blind eye and let whoever get away with whatever the fuck they want what kind of leader would that then make me? |

I guess it would make you the type of leader that engages in proportionality. As regard the incident itself - tasteless - sure, no argument there, it was in poor taste - was it worth a bullet - no Also - tell me where in any walk of life its acceptable - how about if they'd been attacked and shot at? Your dealing with it is the minimum that can be expected, as it would have shown a weak leader had anything else resulted. This does not signify the end for the member however as there was no discussion as to what a sufficient response would have been.
Wheeler - sure. |

The man was killed for his transgressions you couldn't ask for much more than that, so to then do what you did was totally unacceptable I appreciate you were angry with what he did but that is still no excuse for what you did and as stated the rules you signed say clearly what would happen in those particular circumstances. |

My dad was in your family, and it was your decision to make - his kin will not take the same road. As much as there's an element of sour grapes here, the over riding theme is around choosing your family carefully. |

I’d say the overriding theme is to show respect even when you feel disrespected yourself. Maybe with subtle hints of not breaking rules that you’ve agreed to follow... But I guess we’re all different right? |
