Michigan State Penitentiary, Michigan 1933 It was raining hard outside the prison. Michigan State Penitentiary the home of some 6,000 inmates all from all over the state of Michigan were locked up in here together. Many for crimes they committed, others for crimes they say they didn't do. Each of them had a story. "You'll never guess who's gettin out today." "You're shitting me. Never thought they'd let him out. How long has it been?" Two prison guards were talking about the inmate being released today. Inmate 1192318, he's been in here for the past 13 years and has built himself a sort of small empire inside. If you wanted some smokes, a bottle of coca cola, drugs, and maybe even some pictures of nude women. You'd talk to inmate 1192318. "Years. I stopped keeping track. Thought he was a lifer." "Time flies. Got used to seeing his ugly mug. Dude really lived like a king in here." Inmate 1192318 had also built himself a reputation. Don't fuck with him. All throughout his sentence he had killed many prisoners and started fights. Guys from the outside from his crew would also find ways to contact him so he could kill some of their enemies doing time. Last year he killed Jim Jones who pissed off his crew back home in Detroit. It was lights out for the night and then Inmate 1192318 found some keys that he took from a guard when they weren't looking. Made his way into Jim Jones cell and killed him. "Well it might be tough for him on the outside. Life out there is very different than in here." They made their way to the cell and hit the bars with his Baton. "1192318. It's your lucky day. You're being released." Inmate 1192318 only grabbed himself a pack of smokes that he had in his cell and walked with the guards. He saw the faces staring at him as he made his way to the office and on his way to his freedom. Some were jealous, why him? Why not me. Others were happy for him knowing that they too were getting released soon and could contact him for work if needed or kill him because of old grudges they built during his time inside. Inmate 1192318 found his old clothes that were waiting for him and put them on. He asked one of the guards for a light and lit a cigarette as he made his way to the main gate. An old friend was waiting for him with a car. "Tommy! How ya been. It's been years." "Frank. It's good to be free again. You know there's a sign on the other side of this gate that says never again. If there's one thing I'm going to take from this place it's that. Never again. I'm never going back inside." Tommy put his arm around Frank "Now take me to the nearest bar. I heard it's legal now. Yeah I still managed to get the paper inside. I need to get drunk." |
