What music inspires you?  Is it the same music everyday or does this change according to the mind set you are in? 

I love music, I was born into music. My parents had  a band and played gigs my whole life. My mother opened for the Goo Goo dolls, she jammed with Carlos Santana at his personal house parties. Both my parents worked for Leo Fender also.  A legend by his own right in music history. Music is my best friend, it is always there and always consistent . A true friend I can rely on. 

I am very eclectic with my music likes. So all music inspires me. Which kind depends on my state  of mind as I am sure it does for many of us. 

I invite you all to share your music of inspiration or stories like I have done about how music has been in your life and/ or  how it has affected you. 

LIFE GOES ON is a very inspiring song for myself, especially since I became sick. It's meaning changed for me as music often does after some life altering event.  It is by a musical artist called Satsang. Which means a spiritual discourse or sacred gathering, it is a sitting together with an enlightened person who usually gives a short speech and then answers questions.

Not all inspirational music is what we  call sweet as cherry pie.

Some music of inspiration is aggressive, but have a message that resonates with our ideologies, or our current thoughts, perhaps our current emotions. 

Some music even tells us how it really is, no sugar coating, just plain truth. 

This artist is an independent artist. meaning he is not mainstream, he produces his own music, and can say what he wants without mainstream censorship.

For me music is generally a mood things with me, though i would put rock as my preferred music in general, the likes of FFDP, A7X what i have listened to the last few years,    I will go through everything from musicals when i am down in general or emo My Chem type music, to 90's indie music from UK generally.

If i am out on the town though, i will want that cheesey pop era of music from the 90's as a lot of music these days i just don't relate too.   Music though sadly as the years have passed, became less and less of my life, as work etc began to eat up more and more times.

what do you feel is the impact or benefit of music in your life?

I ask this because you said "...music is generally a mood thing..,"

The truth for me has helped with depression at stages, my vision is somethings that been persistently getting worse for years.   I need special keyboards and sooner or later even that wont be enough.

I find something more cheerful/cheesey is good when stressed depressed.    I just didn't want to be popping pills from the doctor, and sometimes found the combination of music and exercise especially more effective.

But i train to rock music for the gym, I find it is more stimulating when trying to hit the weights.   It is partially an agreession, energy things when something like slipknot is blasting and gives an extra edge.

As for music in general, growing up was the more political music, and helped shaped some of my political views for a while.  I found it easier to explain things with music than articulating them myself even.

Not sure which music inspires me per se, but dependant on my mood there are a few which make me feel uplifted, nostalgic, upbeat etc.

the list is too long to mention but waterfall by the stone roses is always up there.

So, I ask you also. what do you feel is the impact or benefit of music in your life?

The impact is huge, it has a massively positive effect on my mental health.
I've grown up with music lovers and play a few instruments but music to me is basically joy, even the music that reminds me of sad occasions.

I genuinely pity those that don't delve into it because there really is something for everyone.

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream. I listened to it every day back when I was young and going through some real bullshit. I didn't have much except good music.

Funny how music about real life issues mirror what is going on this game at the moment.
