So the dust has finally settled then huh? But what now? The streets have become eerily quiet. Anton is a memory and with Grin taking some self-betterment reflection time things have become rather mute. Yes the streets are now no longer filled with bitter and horrible speeches, no disputes or debates are currently raging on between rivals...So I ask as someone who is trying their hardest but lacks obvious experience. What can we do? Is it just a sign of the times that the streets are quiet? Is this just a speed bump on a long road? 

Maybe we do need someone who challenges things. But not someone who is over-the-top clearly.  Competitions are cool and sure they being the talented people out to showcase their skills. But what about the daily speeches and debates? Is their simply not enough people up for it now? Is this simply a declining art form that in time won't be utilized?

I understand without war or takedowns or drama it can die down a little. But I've never saw the streets so empty. As someone who enjoys being out here, I am slightly worried. I would love if the old and famous bloodlines gave so opinions or input as to why this is the case and if in their old and dust-covered journals if these slumps are common. And what in the past sparked these old and famous streets back into life.

As always it truly is a pleasure to come out here and ask a little question or two and I always appreciate anyone who interacts with me and gives me any feedback. I am by no means anything above the ordinary but I am passionate about the streets and I will do anything to help making it a better place.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about Selena. The streets are usually a little quieter during the weekend hours. There is always going to be a bit of an adjustment period after something like we’ve seen here recently and this time around is no different. You are doing a great job fostering the streets at the moment, bringing opinions and ideas out without the usual nastiness that we’ve grown accustomed to lately. As long as everything can be done civilly around here the people will be back.

There is a theory that there is nothing new to say. That after so many generations and so many years its all been said already. A quick look back over past speeches shows that we've had a few commentaries, such as your newspaper, and MM-PR's public information skit. There's been a few competitions and a few public information announcements from Thugs and Civilians who think they know how the upper echelons of this thing of ours work. But the vast majority of speeches involved a certain individual and the controversies that surrounded him. 

So yes, with him gone, again, things are quieter. What you now need to decide is 'was the controversy he caused worth the activity it brought to our streets?' Was the abuse and hurt he may or may not have caused worth the entertainment value he brought, to at least some of our community, possibly 33% of our community? If it wasn't, then the only way you will fill that void is for others to step up and take his place, make the competitions, make the speeches, ask the questions or tell the stories. There are two ways this can go. The streets will continue to be quiet, or slowly they will get back to the way they were when Anton's ancestors were last in jail. We will need people with a strong street presence to make it so though.

Thank you for coming out here today frank, I know how much effort you put in as well as I. I look forward to the rebirth of the streets and you know I am here to help with anything if you so need it. I have no doubt that we both shall have a part to play in whatever happens as the community rallies once more! We both have a lot to offer here. I'll look forward to working with you in the future.

Duggee I don't think anyone would disagree that no matter who good Anton was in the streets it doesn't justify what he did. His punishment was fair and if the price to pay is quieter streets we must take it on the chin and pick up the pieces. The other problem is I don't just want to see writing contests I want to mix it up. But I don't have all the answers as to what else would work. I wholeheartedly admit this. I'm here asking for the help to at least try to change things.

"Personally. I like the quiet. Less attention on us. Too much noise attracts the pigs, and when you get the pigs around you it makes it hard to do business. You know what kills more cops than bullets and alcohol? Boredom. You keep it darn fuckin boring around the streets here and the pigs will find us boring and eventually we can get on with making money and going about our daily lives without being harassed."

His punishment was fair and if the price to pay is quieter streets we must take it on the chin and pick up the pieces.

And therein lies the problem; who is able and willing to bring the controversy that Anton did?

Like I said last week - this place really needs a pantomime villain to function properly. Whether that be a brutal regime leader ruling with an iron fist, like a Disorder, or an over-the-top narcissist like an Anton.

The people need someone to focus their debates and criticism on; a large, verbose personality with polarising opinions. Someone with protractors and detractors, able to stimulate debate. In short, someone to hate on. It's not quite so simple as asking a safe, bland, vanilla question and expecting a crowd to erupt en masse.

Since Anton's demise, what we have now is a silent 'woke' utopia. A few of his critics still use the memory of Anton and his indiscretions to try to generate dicussions but there is no controversy anymore, so there's nothing to debate.

Personally, I know I certainly wouldn't be willing to cause controversy just now, for fear of offending someone who doesn't want to address me publicly or directly... so the question you gotta ask yourself is - is quiet and nice preferable to busy and controversial?

The fact that Anton still gets name-dropped in discussions about bettering the streets speaks volumes in my opinion.

Pulling his hat hat off of his head and brushing his hair back into its proper places, Cailen stepped into the conversation being had by all of these strangers...

"Pardon me, but if I do say so myself that sometimes, ever so seldom like, the calm is the peace just before the storm. These streets have been walked and talked by the best of em'! And trust me, thems' old guard have said the same thing a few times and soon came to realize that the calm was just time for you to catch your breath."

Pulling a cigarette out of his breast pocket and lighting it with a match...

"But aye', what the hell do I know?" 

Having listened to the speaker and subsequent contributions, Curtis walked over to Selena and shook her hand.

"Thanks for the speech.

Street activity comes and goes. After a frenetic period of activity, discussion and in some places, argument, it's only natural that there be a lull. Activity tends to come in waves, the larger and more energetic the wave, the greater the lull afterward. Events and people calm and return to normal. This most recent wave was a turbulent one with quite impassioned opinion and vociferous debate. The quiet we have now is a perfectly natural follow on from that."

Looking around he smiled at Cinnamon and shook his hand before turning back to Selena.

"I wouldn't worry. I'm sure there will be plenty of upheaval again soon enough."

Selena have no fear.  Once the relevant permits have been submitted and the appropriate police departments paid to turn a blind eye to speeding motorists, the MG-PPR Street Race Division will be announcing various races around the streets of our wonderful cities.

Soon there will be many noise complaints and such other things for people to pile in on; complaints that they didn’t win, complaints that it looks like Mafia golf (that will be the golf cart biathlon where racers race to be quickest round the course AND shoot the lowest score), complaints that it looks like basketball (no crossover envisioned just yet) etc etc

So agreeing with Curtis, once people find ways to vent their feelings and frustrations at things I can see you coming out asking for some peace and quiet to think!

Thank you all for responding in these times of change, I know most people don't even want to step onto the streets anymore, Cinnamon the handsome Scot does make a good point indeed. Maybe there is another amongst us that will focus our debates toward, but until then we should maybe enjoy the peace. And thank you Curtis you are always keeping me right, I appreciate how much time you give me whether in the streets or otherwise.

How about instead of the bellyaching about how 'quiet' the streets supposedly are and instead of a long drawn out 'speech' of others who don't need a constant mention, that you actually just bring up a debate or speech or anything.  Anything is better than this piss poor attempt of making the streets 'less' quiet.

The streets aren't so quiet when they are filled with the ramblings of how quiet they are..

This guy really loves places that are quiet now and then, we really need silence to get our energy back and make sure our body recovers after long work-days and weeks.
