A car pulled up in the sand. Sitting stopped while the dust settled. The black Ford stood stark against the orange earth. A door swung open and two figures got out. Standing on the hot sands they looked through the heat waving distance, at the city standing like a mirage in the desert. This was it. Turning to look at each other they shook hands in silence, smiled and embraced, clapping each other on the back.

So this is the future.

Gaius looked at his old friend as he got back into the car. They exchanged an understanding look and a wordless conversation passed between them in an instant. These were the kinds of bonds only years, sometimes generations could make. He watched as the Inspector drove away and walked slowly across the hot sands into town. It was the start of something big. Something ambitious. Something brave. It was a vision. It was going to be beautiful.

In his new offices Gaius was on the phone to Chicago, New York and New Orleans. Discussing the plan for the coming months and longer term goals of the developed city, its role along side the country's other crime cities. There was so much to do. His move had already been given the green light by his own city head. An ambitious plan they had conceived to try and branch out, expanding the reach of the business network out west to the greater benefit of them as a crime syndicate and the other cities they had worked so hard with. After much discussion, maps, plans, facts and figures, the Inspector had approved. In turn Gaius had gone to see Roman and spoken with him at great length about his proposals and designs for the future of the dormant city. Roman had listened and taken time to consider every aspect of Gaius' plan before giving his blessing to the project.

With this he then took his vision to Whatsername in New York and explained in great detail, how he saw a possibility to resurrect and develop the dead city back into the giant gambling Mecca it once was. Whatsername studiously studied the hard facts and numbers behind the passionate plan and finally granted her valuable blessing for the project to continue. With her own interests in the project being so significant, she decided to send one of her own close associates to establish a family of their own under Gaius in the new city.

After some negotiations and much discussion, Gaius set a prime building in place on the strip and designated offices and casino fronts for the New York family. Names were decided and a meeting was arranged. Whatsername would bring the new crew leadewr to Las Vegas and introduce him herself. She said she wanted it to be something of a surprise. Gauis smiled at the idea and the date was set for the meeting in what was to be the new leader's own offices. With the addition of another family from the big apple arranged, Gaius went on his way to the deep south.

Finally Gaius arrived in New Orleans to see RoRoG. Not having worked as closely with Gaius as the other Godfather and mother, he was understandably sceptical initially. On closer scrutiny however, he could see that all the figures and projections had been worked out thoroughly. The math was solid, the backing was there, the infrastructure and long term plan, clear. It was too solid to contest and RoRoG knew a good opportunity for sensible business when he saw one. With assurance from the other great leaders and his own financial advisers, RoRoG gave his consent and the blessings were complete.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I have come here today full of hope and eager to share with you, some great news!

Allowing a moment for the crowd to settle he looked over the faces of all standing before him and smiled.

After much work and consultation with InspectorGadget, we have decided to branch out and develop our interests into another city. With a great deal of planning and considered application, we have acquired the assurance and blessing of the other cities. Godfathers Roman, Whatsername and RoRoG have all seen our plan and approved us to move forward with it. What is this plan? I hear you ask... Vegas baby, Las Vegas! I will be taking my family and my Captain Naenia's to Las Vegas and setting up there as acting city head until such time as I am deemed worthy to assume the mantle of Godfather. Along with our own families our city will be graced by the addition of one of New York's most outstanding emerging mobsters. Marston's bloodline runs back to countless generations and his work so far has only gone to honour and further the sterling reputation of his forefathers. With him along with us, the rich diversity and incredible heritage of families we have, will ensure an unparalleled starting point for the building of a truly great city.

Allowing a minute for the murmurings to settle down, Gaius went on.

I can appreciate this being something of a surprise to some but believe me, the plans in place will see the great city of Las vegas rebuilt! Restored to its former imperious glory, every light bulb renewed, every side walk repaved. The casinos will be bigger and better than ever, the night life will be as never before and the lifestyle will make even the richest, just want to be a part of it. This city will be the dream it once was, the gold mine the mob always created it to be. A river of money and all the fun that brings.

In the background some of Gaius and Naenia's men opened the side of a panel truck. Quickly and quietly removing box after box of champaign and glasses they distributed them amongst the crowd and returned to form a line behind Gaius. All holding bottles ready to pop, they waited while Gaius went on.

In just a few short months you will know this city to be a wise move for any lucky enough to have a stake in it. It will be some of the hottest property on the map and my friends, you are all invited! So please, join me in a toast and celebration to the return of ,The great party town. A toast, to Las Vegas!

Like a ring of shots, the row of champaign bottle popped one after the other. Firing corks and spouting liquid into the air. The men and women walked amongst the crowd filling glasses and handing out drinks to everyone around.

Congratulations! This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your family. I know that you will do well.

Angel hands over a bottle of fine scotch to her dear friend and gives him a hugs before moving out of the way.

Whatsername sipped her champagne and smiled. It was great to see the Godfathers work together to allow the city of Las Vegas work together. So many cities had fallen in the past few months and the mob presence had started to lessen. Having some strong families rebuilding these cities is just what this thing of ours needed.

Gaius your father had started something great when he was moved to Detroit. I know you can succeed in Vegas as he had then. I look forward to seeing Sin City flourish under your command.

Marston as sad as it is to see you leave my HQ, I know this is a great opportunity for you. Working for Gaius and helping to rebuild the mob presence in Las Vegas will be a wonderful task and I know you are up to it.

Whatsername finished her speech and stood back watching the celebrations.

Don Gaius congratulations on your move to Las Vegas. A fine city that needs organised crime to make sure the gamblng venues there are running as they should.

My father watched your progress and you showed the leadership and drive that is needed for a City head, I know he would be proud of this day if he was still here. I for one are very happy to see you head Las Vegas but at the same time I am sad that the time has come for you to move from Detroit. You will be missed around the city but it is the best thing to do in the wider picture. I cannont wait for your plans to start and look forward to Las Vegas thrive again.

Don Naenia and Sir Marston congratulations on the move I am sure you will both do a fantastic job and work hard with Don Gaius to make Las Vegas great again.

After finishing his champagne in a single gulp, doogle felt the excitement hit him like a ton of bricks. With the giddiness of a child, he made his way through the crowd to show his respects.

Gaius, my father spoke greatly of yours and predicted this day would come for you. I'm priveledged to have worked with you in Detroit, and even though we now have large shoes to fill, I know you will continue to prosper.

A grin appears after his words as he shakes the mans hand.

I'll have to make trips here from time to time to check up on my old friend!

Nuked tipped the glass up to her lips and took a small sip of the champagne. She was very pleased with the announcement of rebuilding Las Vegas, she was also eager to see the city be taken back from the sands and desert.

At one point Las vegas had a prominent place in my mind, but as the gripe of criminal activity withered away the city was no longer enjoyable to visit.

She smiled before continuing.

Knowledge, strength and money can bring a city back from the dead. Passion for that city will bring life back into it's eyes. Any city, especially Las Vegas with all of it's blitz and glam, needs that passion. Craves for that passion.

Gaius, as you presented us your plan anyone standing here can see the passion in your eyes, can hear it in the words you speak. I couldn't think of a better person to stick out her in this hot desert than you and the ones you've chosen to help.

Congratulations not only goes out to the ones that run the city, but to the city itself. A fresh start for this gambling oasis.

Nuked raised her glass and nodded her head slightly.

Smiling at the familiar faces from her home city and a few from others, Simplicity raised her glass to Gaius and nodded towards him.

"It will be nice to finally see Las Vegas brought back to the city it should be. The city of lights was one I used to love to travel to, but recently it has just been a quick drop by and leave."

Turning to Marston she also nodded towards him.

"You both will do great and I wish you the best of luck."

Congratulations Gaius! You and Marston are just what LV needs.

IGB was one of the crowd who was listening and waiting for this good news, he goes directly to Gaius and give his hand to shake with him.

It look's like that day is finally here, your father would be so very proud, it wasn't to along ago i set in his headquarters, god rest his soul.

You have come so far, and done so much already, your father was lucky to have a son as strong and dedicated as yourself.

If he was here today he would be just as happy as i am right now.

My father lived and died in Las Vegas, although too young to understand why. I'm sure he would be happy to see the city being rebuilt at last.

Iestyn had forgotten that Gaius had been promoted and actually showed up to his old HQ only to find it empty, of course. Realizing his error he smacked his hand against his head and had his driver drive him to the airport. As he sat on the airplane he thought of Gaius' time in Detroit and what he brought to our great city. His presence, along with Naenia's was definitely one that would be missed by not only Iestyn but by a lot of people in the awesome city of Detroit. Luckily his friend had moved to a city that wasn't too far away and Iestyn wasn't exactly short on funds so he and his bodyguards could visit Gaius and Naenia anytime he needed to(or wanted to...).

Approaching the celebration, Iestyn takes a glass of champagne and raises it in the air.

Congratulations, Don Gaius. It has been a pleasure working alongside you in Detroit and I look forward to seeing what you do with Las Vegas. You better believe that I will be here often to visit...and...to gamble. Lets just hope I don't drink at the same time because me and gambling drunk does not make a very good combination. At least not for me.

Anyway, I know that you are an excellent leader and will do great things with Sin City.
