It was a cold morning in Seattle as the fog was swept through the streets and against the buildings as it poured in from Eliot Bay. The wind that was bringing it through pushed against the window Vito had left open the night before, causing a faint banging as it hit the side of his apartment. It was loud enough to wake Vito from his slumber, even with all the whiskey he drank the night before.. He pushed himself up in bed and began to rub the sleep from his eyes as the window continued to bang against the wall and echoed into the rest of his apartment, reminding him that he was all alone. Most of his family was back home in Sicily from where he fled, only his brother Vincenzo, who was also in on the botched bank robbery they committed, came to the states with him. Vito let off a long grumble as he pushed the blankets off him and placed his feet on the cold hardwood floor and scurried over to the window and quickly pulled it shut and turning around to face the rest of his bedroom again. His suit was hanging from the closet door, finely pressed and waiting for him to fill it. He had done pretty well for himself since showing up in America, a Boss in a crime family known as Capsized in Seattle, money was flowing in to his pockets faster than they ever did back in the old country, but he had his eyes on the biggest prize in Seattle, Seafirst Bank. He let off a smile as he thought of it and began to put the suit hanging from his closet on, along with a few of his gold rings and watch from the stand next to his closet before stepping to the side and wiping himself down in the mirror. "Soon.." The voice in his head said as he continued to think about robbing that bank. Benny said they have close to ten million stashed away in those vaults.. ten million fucking dollars.. I'd be set for life he thought to himself as the comb ran through his hair as he slicked it back in the mirror. He glanced down at his watch after setting his comb down on the stand and cursed at himself when he read the time.. 9:15 am.. he was late. He stormed out of his apartment building and barked at the guard standing outside the front door to go and fetch the car. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the pack of lucky strike cigarettes and stuck one in his mouth and began to pat around for his lighter as he glanced up and down the street he lived on before finding it in his front pocket and quickly igniting the cigarette hanging from his lips and taking a long drag in and exhaling, the lightheaded rush came quick before he casually strolled down the steps and into the back of his sedan. "Take me down to Wally's.. my brother is probably already there waiting for us."
The driver replied back yes boss before the car darted away from the curb. Wally was the shopkeeper who paid Vito's boss, Selena, for protection.. she didn't bother with collecting petty protection money, herself but this particular shopkeeper had refused to pay for weeks now and threatened to call the cops.. It was Vito's job to get him... on board with paying again. Vito's sedan came to a halt once it finally arrived at the destination and just as he thought, his brother was already there with his enormous gut sticking out. "Vito! il tuo ritardo.." Vincenzo grunted at him as his brother stepped out of the back of the car. "Stavo per prendermi cura di questo stronzo da solo" He said with a chuckle as he hugged Vito and gave a slight acknowledgement to his driver. "Is he here? If so.. lets waste no time."
Vincenzo nodded at Vito who then took a final drag off his cigarette and stomped it out on the floor and exhaled as he walked across the street and inside to Wally's Hardware shop.. the golden bell rung overhead as Vito stepped through the doors followed by his fat brother and two other goons who worked for him. Wally quickly recognized him and tried to greet Vito but was quickly met with a swift right handed punch from Vito who had slipped on a pair of brass knuckles as he entered. Wally immediately whaled in pain and fell down the the floor and began to crawl away towards the back in fear, but was caught by the leg and yanked back by Vito who pummeled him again in the head with another right hand and breaking the skin this time. The blood began to run down the store owners face as he trembled in fear was Vito hovered over him.. he tired to mumble something but only caught a foot to the face which caused some of his teeth to go flying.. The man sobbed and begged for Vito to stop at this point and swore he would pay on time again.. "If i have to come down here again and personally pick up this money again, its going to be the last time I'm taking it from you.. hear me?"
Vito yelled at the man as he slammed his fist against the cash register and caused it to ajar. He pulled all the cash out and stuck it into a crisp plain envelope and placed it in his back pocket before spitting on the man and walking back out of the place with his small crew. Once outside he came to a stop as he let off a sigh and began to pat himself down again for his cigarettes.. |

It was cold, it was foggy and it was dreary. Most would say it was a miserable day but for Liliana it was a perfect day. No, she didn’t prefer the cold weather but that coupled with the fog made it a good day to work her magic. With the last sip of coffee down, Liliana tossed the empty cup towards the trash can sitting on the corner of the street. Did it go in the can? Of course it did.... well maybe it didn’t but it was close enough that she just decided to leave it. Plus she was in the perfect spot, propped up against a building near one of the doors, leaching the heat from inside when the door was opened. Which building? She had the slightest clue. Seattle wasn’t what you’d call familiar territory for her but after a brief run in with the law back in her hometown of Chicago, she needed to get away for a few days. Just a long enough time for things to cool down, enough time for the police to forget her face. She had hopped onto the first flight out of town, of which had led her to the lovely city of Seattle. She had been there a couple days now and has made a killing on these streets. The old ladies were easy targets but the real money came from the business guys. There was something about these Seattle guys, they always carried around a lot of money. Made it even easier that they never expect her to rummage around in their pockets. It was the perfect storm for her, which generously filled her pockets. Standing there, propped up against that building, Liliana watched the foot traffic pass her by. It was quite early in the day, people were rushing around most of them probably headed to work. Was the perfect time for her to make a little bit of cash. Pushing herself off the building, Liliana joined the crowds walking around. She was rather particular on her targets, took her time to decide on who the mark was. This time it took her until she was stopped at a crosswalk, across the way was a rather portly businessman. He donned a fancy suit, one that the normal person couldn’t afford. Which meant he probably had a bit of money in his wallet and knowing the type the wallet was probably in his back pocket. This was gonna be easy. Took only a couple moments for the light to change and for the crowds to start walking. Liliana weaseled her way into position, making sure to be right next to the guy as he walked by. The moment he passed her, she came from behind him and subtly remove the wallet from his back pocket. She then quickly turned back around and continue with the flow of the crowd. Was one of the easiest wallet pulls of her visit, the man had the slightest idea and by the time he would find out she’d be long gone. Sliding the mans wallet into her own pocket, Liliana continued with the foot traffic flow for a couple of blocks. She finally removed herself from the mix and once again propped herself up against a building. She gave a quick look up and down the street before pulling the wallet out. It was loaded with cash, couple hundred dollars at least. She didn’t count it, just tucked the cash into her own pocket. The rest of the wallet contained an ID, some business cards and some woman’s phone number. None of it important to her and she had no need for a wallet, so she tossed it to the ground. Staying in that spot for another moment, giving the lay of the land a look over. Liliana looked left than right she needed to find the next spot to find her next target. Unknown to her though, she wouldn’t have to go far for that. |

He finally found his cigarettes in his pocket and a wave of relief came over him as they slipped out of his pocket and stuck one between his lips before noticing the small amount of blood that still resided on his upper arm and quickly wiped it away as he pulled the scuffs of his suit down and began to fumble around for his lighter before Vincenzo stepped closer and ignited his for Vito. "Gratzie fratello.." Vito said before leaning in and igniting his cigarette. Vito exhaled after a long drag and began to take in his surroundings as the nicotine gave way to lightheaded thoughts. Selena would be pleased with his efforts in collecting the cash from the pesky store owner, but still on his mind was making big money.. a name for himself and his family like the Patangeli's did for themselves so many years ago.. stuck as a damn steward to them here, he needed to do something big.. Seafirst Bank.. He sighed at the thought.. all he had was this ragtag group of individuals his brother mustered up.. why he decided to let his fat brother decide who was worth for a job was beyond him but now he was stuck with.. mindless idiots. Vito began to walk down the block slowly as he thought more to himself, Vincenzo and the.. idiots.. laughing and acting a fool a distance behind but still following.. Vito wondered though how much they were actually even paying attention. "Pigri bastardi" He muttered to himself as he turned the corner and stumbled into a woman standing up against the wall.. "Dannazione.. the hell are you doing just standing up against the fucking wall like that.. ahh fuck it..."
He patted his suit down and gave her a brief mug before turning and walking away slowly as he took a long drag off his cigarette and waited at the corner to cross. |

It didn't take long for her next target to come into play, he basically fell right into her lap. Well walked into her but it was close enough. She wasn't expecting it and it all happened rather quickly. As he turned the corner and bumped right into her, it sent her sideways just a little bit. In order to gain her balance she had to use him as a prop to stay upright. It was perfect... As she gripped onto him for stability, she was able to slip her hand into his pocket. It didn't take long to find something. It was what felt like an envelope that was hidden inside. There were a couple things she knew about envelopes like these; one they usually contained a nice bit of money and two it was usually dirty money. Which also meant that if she got caught, this good day could turn bad very quickly. In the midst of it all Liliana was able to pull the envelope from his pocket and quickly tuck it into her waistband behind her back. It was a rather quick motion, something she had done more than once before. This time playing out just like it had in the past, without the man even knowing. He was too worried about her being in his path, like he owned the sidewalk or something. "Dannazione... the hell are you doing just standing up against the fucking wall like that.. ahh fuck it.." The man blurted out. Which caused Liliana to let go of him, taking a step back for safety precautions. She watched as he patted his suit down, she thought for a brief moment she had been had. Though he was just adjusting it from their collision. She continued to watched as he gave her a sharp glare before walking off towards the corner. Liliana let out a slight sigh before craning her neck around to see where he was headed. Clearly she didn't want to walk in the same direction he was headed. In fact she wanted to go the complete opposite way. The man didn't even look back towards her but instead kept dusting off his suit. She knew if he kept on doing what he was doing, that he would eventually realize he was missing something. And on that note, Liliana decided now was the time to hightail it out of there. Taking a step around the corner, making sure she was slow enough to not cause any suspicion. She looked back once more, this time not being able to see anyone. Picking up her pace, she walked a little bit faster than normal for a moment, making sure to give herself a bit more of a distance from the man before pulling the envelope from her back. While still walking she opened it up... her eyes lit up as she gazed upon the amount of cash in it. "Oh shit..." She muttered to herself. "This is some serious cash... time to get the fuck out of here Liliana.." She said to herself as a smile crept onto her face. |

ith a stomach full of vanilla ice cream, Vito reluctantly emerged from the back of his sedan which was parked out front of Selena's home.. He was here to deliver that cash he extorted out of that damn store keep, but his legs were just not reacting the way he wanted them too.. he was so damn bloated he could barely move.. how the fuck did his brother manage feeling like this all the damn time. The car door shut behind him quickly and caused him to jump slightly as he was still trying to gather himself. "Fanculo! don't slam my fucking doors like that you idiot.. idiota maldestro" Vito said shaking his head
He began patting himself down before remembering he put the envelope full of cash into his back pocket.. but as he fumbled through his pocket.. it was nowhere to be found.. the immediate worry flew over him as he now carelessly rummaged through his pockets and emptied them onto the back of his sedan until there was nothing left in them.. his mind began to race even more.. that was fifteen fucking grand for his boss, an envelope and cash like that doesn't just grow legs and walk the fuck away..... "Merda..." Vito muttered under his breath as he leaned forward and placed his palms against the car as he realized JUST where that money had gone.. sure the money didn't just grow legs, but that woman he bumped into.. she must have slipped into his fucking pocket when she groped onto him! His eyes widened even further at this realization and he quickly became enraged and kicked the side of his car, leaving a huge dent in it as he flipped around now and leaned against it.. His breathing was heavy as he fumbled through is pack of lucky strikes and stuck one into his mouth and combing a strand of his hair back that fell during his rage before igniting it with his golden zippo and taking a long drag off it.. His fucking guards were absolutely useless, his fat piece of shit brother included, they were too busy laughing it up and didn't even notice a pickpocket had slipped that envelope out his back pocket... "No good dirty fucking thief.. feccia" He muttered again as he exhaled a cloud of smoke and spat onto the floor next to him. Seems he would have to cover that fifteen grand from his own income this fucking week, but tomorrow.. he was going to go out and find that damn thief. He knew them all in Pioneer Square but had never come across her.. he took another drag off his cigarette before stomping it out on the sidewalk and quickly heading inside the house to conduct the rest of business. |

Liliana made sure to venture quite a bit away from where she had just been, sure the profits were great in that area but after the score she just had there was no need to risk running into that guy again. Cause running into him again, at this point, wouldn't be good for her health. Not getting her ass beat, would definitely be a step in the right direction in regards to that. So, she headed east. Towards what the locals called Waterfront. It was from what she heard an up and coming area. Had a lot of big waterfront houses and a ton of businesses. Most of which were geared towards the ocean. You know the kinds; fishing boats, seafood joints, water tours etc.... Whatever you could think of ocean related you could find out here. Now it wasn't as financially rich as Pioneer Square, there were no bankers, there were no stock market people but there was still money to be had. Clearly she wasn't going to score in one pick pocket like she had recently done to that Italian guy in Pioneer Square but money is money. All the little bits add up at the end of the day. She spent the next couple of hours, doing her thing within the district. Making sure not to stay in one area too long, cause that's how you get caught. And getting caught with all this money on her wouldn't be ideal... It was that thought that stayed in her head most of those hours, finally culminating into a day cut short. There was no need to keep risking it, was time for her to head back to her room. I night out on the town, going exploring some, was definitely in the cards tonight. Perhaps grab a drink and get into a little bit of controlled trouble, too! So that's what she did, Liliana made her way back into Pioneer Square and to her room at one of the downtown motels. Yes a motel and not a hotel... Hotels were too expensive... Making sure to double lock the door behind her and draw the curtains. Liliana emptied her pockets onto the bed. There were wads of cash, a couple of coins and the one envelope sprawled over the bed. Sitting down next to the contents, Liliana began counting. She first counted the bills laying on the bed, which added up to $404. A nice score for the day. That $404 would go a long long way for her but that was just chump change as she knew that envelope was all $100 dollar bills. She smiled to the thought of it as she reached down picking up the envelope. Opening it up, she pulled out the cash and tossed the envelop aside. Counting it once and than counting it again just to confirm what she had counted. Fifteen Thousand... "Holy shit!" She muttered to herself. "Night out on the town, exploring a bit and find a spot to drink it is!" Tucking all the money from the envelope back into the envelope, Liliana hid it in the ceiling tile above the bed in her room. That money was to stay up there until needed later. That was not going out money, that's what the other cash was for. Getting off the bed Liliana glared up at the ceiling tile, just to make sure it looked like it normally did. Satisfied that things looked like they should, she went and got ready for the evening. Made sure to dress up in one of the nicer outfits she had and did up her hair and makeup. After about an hour of getting ready, Liliana was ready to hit up to town. |

The day had been long since finding out that fifteen fucking grand was just missing. Dirty fucking pick pockets.. Vito never understood the merit in someone going around and lifting wallets and money out of someone's pocket behind their back.. why not just beat the leaving hell out of them and take it by force.. perhaps he just had a different style. The warm sunshine overhead was beginning to fall as Vito and his small crew of men searched the streets of Pioneer Square for that woman before he came to a pause at the corner where he ran into her.. He looked around at the surroundings for some sort of clues but found none.. not even in the area itself. On the corner there was a donut shop owned by an old chinese couple and a few doors down was Joe Montessori the butcher.. he was kicking up money for protection.. this block was in his territory and on the way to the cigar shop.. how the hell did he get pick pocketed on his turf? That shit wasn't allowed... Shaking his head with a deep sigh he took a drag off his cigarette and watched as the smoke drizzled off the end and into the air before pulling it from his lips and exhaling a cloud into the ray of sunshine beating against him. "We been out all day boss looking for this chick.. she's not around. Aint no pick pockets working this turf.. you sure you ain't might of dropped it or something-" Vito quickly whipped around and gave the man a vicious glare and took a step towards the man. "You calling me a fucking liar now? Non mento mai, cazzo!" His voice rose in anger before he gave the man a slight slap "No - sorry boss just.. saying" Vito slapped him again but this time with a bit more force. "Well, next time keep your fucking mouth shut. Don't need any comments from the fucking peanut gallery.. niente cervello"
His frustration with the day was not what he needed as he was due to open his new club tonight, losing that money was the last thing he needed or fucking expected but oh well it was done he thought to himself as he glanced down at his gold rolex for the time and sighed as he read it. He needed to get over to the place for its grand opening in the next hour so this matter would have to wait for now. "Alright fuck it.. lets call it a day boys. Head on home and get yourselves some supper and come down to The Dionysus Club for its grand opening.. and Marty your working security so make sure your fucking there at nine sharp."
The men all nodded and left besides one who stayed with Vito and accompanied him for protection. Tonight was a big night for the Rigazzo's, the opening of their very own business.. it was huge, even if it was financed by Patangeli Inc. .. Vito had something of his own finally and he was proud. He took a final drag off his cigarette and exhaled as he stomped it out on the sidewalk and hopped into the back of the black sedan his bodyguard had pulled around and off they were to The Dionysus Club... |
