ok, here's a thought. i know that the vote +'s have a bonuses in the petties and felonies, but what about incentives the other way. there are bonus, but what if there was a penalty.

the specific idea i have is that you must have voted in the last 12 hours to do your OC. so if you don''t vote, you don't do OCs.

It is an interesting idea, but the entire idea of offering bonuses to players for voting is just so people vote. If any change was added that takes away from the game unless you vote it just doesn't seem fair. If people want to vote go ahead, if not? It is still your choice. If you don't want to vote you don't have to, but why penalize people for something that isn't required?

no. the +s are there for people who wish to vote. you cant take away a game option from people who dont wish to vote.

You cannot punish people for not voting as there are many reasons they do not vote that do not include laziness.

If you read some of the sites you are voting on they ask if you were FORCED to vote which is essentially what you are proposing here.

Voting is not mandatory and never has been. It's up to the player if they wish to enjoy the benefits. If someone doesn't want the extra cash, experience, credits, and other bonuses then that's their choice who are we to force them to accept these gifts of thanks?

alonzo, i was actually thinking more in terms of benifits for the game then for me.

Voting sites will ban your game if you require users to vote. No feature in the game can be restricted by voting. You can give bonuses, as we do already, but that is the extent of it. We also try to keep the voting links as un-interfering as possible, they are there so you can click them, as a reminder, but they shouldn't interfere with normal gameplay.
