Following a recent recruitment drive by Aughustus (silent Au and silent tus), the group Aunty Grin And Friends are proud to announce their first studio album

This album is not endorsed by the Anti-Grin and Friends Alliance.  MG-PPR are taking no credit for the success or failure of this work of art and are releasing this statement as a pro bono (definitely not pro-Bono) service to the fledgling group.

To coincide with the release of this soon to be classic, MG-PPR are opening up a contest to provide talented wordsmiths the opportunity to create a new set of lyrics for the cult classic

“I Will Survive” by Gloria Grin-nor

A prize of ten, yes ten whole credits will be on offer to the entry which is as good or better than the effort cobbled together by the MG-PPR Janitorial Staff who are often found dancing to this with their brooms.  Submit a minimum of one verse below, here is what you are up against:

You’d think Grin was afraid, he should be petrified

With Anton in his ear, every time complaints were near
But then he’d sit there satisfied at all the salty folks who cried

Alex had always been a fan of Grin Day and somewhat of a record collector (he had to do something with all those spare dollars he made), so when he heard on the radio that Auntie Grin and Friends were releasing their first record he had to buy it. He felt a bit stupid queuing up behind a group of screaming teenagers outside a Bronx record store but was able to shake this feeling off when he saw them. There they were Auntie Grin and Friends in the flesh, his heart skipped a beat and his palms became clammy. They were there to sign copies of the new record and Alex was almost at the front of the queue. 

"Next!" shouted a suited man, presumably part of the PR team. This was it, Alex stepped forward towards the band "Thank you, I can't wait to get home and listen to it", is what he had meant to say.. Instead he had managed to trip on his own laces and fall forwards onto the table the records had been stacked upon. Throwing $500 at the PR man, Alex grabbed a copy of the album and ran out of the store embarrassed. 

"Well done, idiot" He'd said to himself, as he walked back to his apartment red faced. 

MG-PPR whenever  I see a post from yourself I just know it will be a great insight into the world we live in. Never did I anticipate such fantastic musical talent to be in your repertoire as well!

So, some fantastic efforts there from Cinnamon and Rowley.  It was always to be expected from Cinnamon, anyone that can get away with writing a song containing wanker is always going to handle this sort of challenge with aplomb but Rowley's effort certainly is good for such a drunk.

We have had some correspondence asking what the judges are looking for.

• Originality - don't just write down the words you've found listening to phonographs and the radio then shoehorning Grin etc in there. 
• Quality - Quantity is not king, with our limited attention span it's not a contest to cram as much as you can in.  That's the upcoming MG-PPR budgie smuggling contests.
• Humour - Don't just dive in with "Purging is for c***s".  That may or may not be true but be slightly more nuanced, nobody ever really got killed for being amusing...for being an arsehole perhaps (amongst other things) so go for the laughs.

The temptation to do as so many other contests and just flee the scene like a Nigerian Prince was almost too much.  Quite simply, nobody here managed to follow the simple brief:
