Actually Anonymous have already stated they have nothing to do with this and it's problems with Sony's own servers.

I just know it sucks ass as nobody can get online for a couple days. I think its gonna be some crazy update!

Why exactly is the playstation network inferior? The only things different are you can't get netflix and it's not as community driven. When I pick up a controller, I want to play a game, not look at what my friend's have been doing. Even if I were to go for the whole social thing, does the Xbox have a browser? No. Does the Xbox have a built in virtual world? No.The complaints I always hear about playstation network is that the gamers aren't as good. When I get into a match on halo or any other FPS on the Xbox, all I hear are guys cursing at each other nonstop or 10 year old kids whining about people killing them. The Xbox is complete shit in the gaming world. The original Xbox was complete shit compared to the PS2 or even the PS1. In general, Microsoft is a greedy company that produces shit.

The Xbox is like a big computer. How often are computers hacked? If someone wanted to, they would hack Microsoft with ease. It's quite apparent that no one feels the company is important enough to do so.

Or the hackers enjoy playing Xbox, so instead they ruin the gaming experience for Sony users.

The PSN wasn't hacked. Geohot, the guy who makes your iphone jail breaks, decided to jail break the ps3. In doing so he opened up exploits in the PSN to decode your credit card information. So really all he did was exploit a weak firmware encryption so that he could run his own OS on the PS3. Which he got sued over. Which bring Anon fags into it all. Which ends in Sony taking down the PSN on Wednesday to rewrite and recode so that your credit card information isn't stolen. All Anon did was "try" to protest and failed. Plus whoever is stupid enough to even attack a big name company like that is going to see how fast they burn.

Ha i've been to 8 Anonymous protests. I finally got a Guy Fawkes mask on the third protest. Now it would seem they've resorted to more of a agressive approach.

Why do people feel an affinity to the console they own? I got a 360 because it came out first in the first year i got the RROD, Not too bothered the console was replaced by MS within 2 weeks + some free Xbox live vouchers. The PlayStation is as flawed as the 360. I know people who have had bad experiences with both consoles.

As for the online advantages the PS3 browser is OK but isn't great, I would like one on the 360 but it isn't a deal breaker. Netflix is good, far superior to MS' Zune and the like. Having played both consoles a fair amount having lived in a house with both for 2 years, I preferred the 360 for online and so did my house mates (Call of Duty and FIFA) we didn't have a great internet connection and the ps3 suffered most.

Was this problem ever fixed?  I don't really care other than I'd like to get a PS3 at some point and want to know I'm going to have a network when I do. 

As for which system is better?  I don't know.  I don't care.  I'd own every gadget available if I had the money.  I bought the x-box for the same reason as others - it was first.   There have absolutely been problems.  I'm on my 4th xbox.  2 covered, 1 had to pay for...crazy.  I think I like xbox because I'm used to the controls.  I can't change now.  :) 

Can't wait for the next incarnation of the xbox.

Advantage of PS3 - blueray player.  I imagine the next incarnation of xbox will have that technology too. 

By the way WII 2 coming next year.  Like I said, have to have every gadget.
