Hello all!

In association with the Fairest Writing Competition's host, LSD, we're working on an event which can be played site wide. In a few words:

Horse racing, where users will "bet" on which horse will win prewritten race. Over the course of x number of races, we keep a tally of the users with the most correct bets of who will win each race. At the end, those at the top of the leaderboard will win prizes!

There are factors to consider in this game, it won't just be blind guesswork.

• Horses will have profiles with statistics and race record, tracking things like:
  • Weight
  • If they are familiar with the Course/Distance
  • How they perform on different Track Conditions
• Other hints will need to be detected when picking a horse
  • Their race history
  • How long since their last race
  • Track condition/distance
  • If they suffered an injury in a previous race
  • How they performed on previous races

How the game will be played:

• A "Race Opener" will be posted in the streets. This will detail
  • Which track is going to be used (1 in each city)
  • The horses that will be racing & their performance modifiers
  • A link to the horses race history spreadsheet
  • A link to the current leaderboard
• Users will place bets in the streets, which will be recorded on the leaderboard
• The Race Report will be posted in the business district of the track being used (The race report will be a previously written back alley thread with a date stamp previous to the beginning of the competition)
• The race report will contain the overall outcome of the race, but also may have small hints of how horses may perform in other races.

And that's about it. Horses stats will be updated on the live sheet as they win/lose races, at the end of all the races the users with the most correct guesses will win prizes!

To get things started, running a small competition

We want Mafia Returns themed horse names. There are 20 slots to fill with fine MR equines, and for each one of your submissions that we use, you'll get a credit. 

• Must be double barreled name (e.g. Midnight Purge)
• 5 Entries per person. Any entries after the first five an individual makes will not be considered

The bottom line is, we want to gauge interest. There is a lot of background admin to this sort of thing, which isn't an issue if it's worthwhile.
