"Tell me Rom, are you really trying to operate within the lines we gave you? This is a big business and when we hear news of some competition, do not get it wrong that we won't take away all the luxurious shit that you've tried earning from the cut you've received. We know you guys are out there operating in the streets, we know that they know about us. This a very big business, one that doesn't end with me and I do not wish for this to end with you laying six feet under, your Mrs crying at the funeral. We need some clear understandings, my father needs to know that you are giving us the best distro that we could possibly ever have, understood?" Angel Cordelia was someone that was at best, a low-level enforcer for his father. Someone who didn't like the way he was moving with his business, those like Angel were not going to make it long with this alliance. Still, he was not going to give this kid what he wished for, this business was not going to suffer for one kid and his flights of deciding that he could be above the business he and his father were making for all of them, including his guy and his boss, Gimpanzee. Yet there was a certain level of respect that Rom had earned throughout his trade, he had been given this chance to give the Cordelia's a moment of shine again. He was the one that brought them back to the states, the one that made them mean something again. It wasn't the defunct and fucked Pavanno family who had sold them down the river, getting one of their many son's dead and one of their daughters pregnant, no. Rom knew where his line began and where it ended, it wasn't with them. "Angel, do not get too big for those fucking cowboy boots you're wearing. This is our fucking place, The Tops is where all the cool cats come to play and have a good time, we're not really looking to bring you here and let you fuck up the ambience, you get that? We need you to calm down, take a nice little sip of the water we graciously gave you and let me get down to why you're really here, eh?" A chuckle escaped Rom then, he and his people, among them being vGoddess who was already proving that she had a mind of this. A lot of people doubted that the pair would make money for the organization, yet they had been proven wrong, nothing was going to be going awry for them. They had earned their way to the monies they were earning, it was a good partnership and one that looked like it would expand into Las Vegas and Chicago soon enough. Then there was Newt_Scamander, the man that had the cool smile and had managed to make sure that he had stuck to the rules. If there was anyone besides the boss that Rom feared, it would be Newt, the man knew how to work with what he had. A colt and a briefcase, plus a few documents, making sure his place ran like a business was one thing that separated them from the petty gangsters trying to make a quick buck. "Fine, I'm listening, what do you have for us? I've heard that you've made some money, some investments and only a little has made it back to my father. What's going on there? Tell me, let me know, so I can then go back to my father and make sure his faith in you stays." Rolling his eyes, Rom knew that the man was nothing in the right set of circumstances. His father trusted different men than someone who clearly wished for the business to be taken elsewhere instead of the US but for now, he would entertain him. He wished for something to keep him occupied and the times when he had nothing, well that proved to be boring, so here he was, ready to talk and see what he could say to shut this bitch up. "I have many things, one of them being this very casino, which is a great hub of business and one that includes your father's products. In the process, I am opening up another casino which will provide the same business and under the deal table that gives your father more bucks. So do not tell me that his faith is dwindling, he has no one else to supply this fucking business too. The Pavanno's are long dead, my distro is the only that works long-term for the Cordelia's, something that even your father knows. So tell ME, why the fuck are you here Angel?" The kid was walking on thin ground now, he thought about this for a while. He had tried to muscle his way here, a jealous fucking kid who knew next to nothing about the way he and his father worked, it was something that pissed him off to no end. He wondered, was this what the kid wanted? To be the one that replaced him, he sure hung around enough with a sly grin, Rom leaned forward with a now blank face on his visage. "I don't like you, my father seems to think that you're the saviour of half the things we do here, so tell me, what makes you so special! I'm the one that should be making him the money that comes next, I'm the one that should be standing where you are. You have no right to take this from me, who the fuck do you think you are, eh? Who the fuck do you think that you are? Somebody who means something? No, you're a nobody and I can't wait for the whole organization to know that. When that day comes, you're going to be nothing more than a bitch boy who tried to work his way up the ranks in a society he's not even full-blooded enough to be a part of..." Craning his neck to the side, oh they were going there now? He turned to look at Gerry, the man had certainly been something during the AllyGarcia business, Gerry, the ever faithful, had wondered what was going on there. Yet that was a story for another time, his life, the one that led up to this moment was something that a lot of people poked fun at. Yet here he was, earning the motherfuckin' cash that made him the distro, The Guy that nobody came near. And nobody was challenging him, so who did this guy think he was coming for him? Shaking his head, he knew better people than him, he knew boys like Sync that continued to make sure his guys ate at the table. One of the few that Rom would never forget, nor would he begin to think that he hadn't earned his position. The man had done what they all had done, he had become someone that people talked about, that was not to be forgotten. "Angel, you're jealous, are you? You think I haven't earned this shit? That I didn't work for what brought me here, I've changed my ways. I'm not the same man on the court that started out with scraps, I'm not the guy who did this to get out of a fucking debt. I'm the one who decided to enter this game and become someone! That's me, so walk back out my joint, before I make sure that you go home with a busted lip and more...you get me now, pendejo!?" Yet the grave tone in his voice, Rom knew that this was grounds for a war, one that many people would push. It was not like Angel stood alone in his organization, yet they were minimal people who clawed at his heels wanting for him to take out Rom and his organization. One that had made the Cordelia's over fifty million in the past month alone, it was already becoming so much that people believed he would try and branch out on his own "This ain't over you know? We got more people than just the ones you think, alright!? Threatening me, you might just find a change in leadership soon. Where would you go then?! So choose your words carefully Rommy, don't think that we owe you shit, you ain't no one to us out south, don't think you become someone you're not." With that, Angel stormed out of the building, a few goons walking out behind him. Shaking his head, Rom knew that this was going to be something alright. His life was getting heated, he knew what he signed up for but if Angel wanted to head into this with him, Rom knew he would need some serious backup. "You still got the Irish and Latin connections, Gerry? I have a feeling that soon enough, we're going to be needing it with this whore about to cause us trouble." Gerry grave a grunt, affirming that he did. Humming, Rom walked out to the floor of The Tops Casino, knowing that right now, he needed to present himself a certain way and right now, it was in full effect. |
