Philadelphia Business District Festival Started by: Timothy_Petrov on May 03, '11 02:44

Out from the shadows a tall, thin Russian makes his way to the center of the street up to the trusty soapbox that so many mafioso had used before him.  Giving it a swift kick, he tests its durability before deciding to take a step up to address the already growing crowd of onlookers beginning to form around him.

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, it is my pleasure to announce to all of you that I'll be hosting a festival in the city of Philadelphia over the next couple of days for everyone to have fun, relax and get down to party hearty.  Oh yeah, and to win prizes!  After all, no celebration could be complete without them!

The festival will take place in the Philadelphia business district May 10th  and will continue through the next couple of days ending May 14th.  There will be a variety of new businesses opened up for the public just for this event by many of Philly's fine citizens.  AND they will all be operated by me, your gracious host to make sure the party keeps rolling.

Prizes will be given out for those who take part in the festival:

1 million dollars for the most unique customer.

1 million for the most hilarious customer

1 million for the customer that leaves the most lasting impression.

All prizes will be judged and awarded by yours truly for the 5 day event and will be chosen from any and all customers for the duration of the contest.  Also, all businesses will be flagged by the acronym PBDC, just so you know that these are the ones specially opened for just this event.  I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Mr Barkston surprisingly emerged from the Red Team headquarters and made his way to the streets. The event was spectacular only in that those within his family knew that he was never happier than when he was lounging at home. He didn't like to be bothered, and he certainly didn't like to walk the mile and a half out of his way to the center of the city. Today, however, he was on a mission. He was on the hunt for a hot dog. There had to be vendors somewhere, and he was going to find one even if it took all day--y'know, as long as it didn't interfere with his sleeping schedule. This walking business was tiring.

While he strolled at, let's face it, an extremely casual pace down the sidewalk, he overheard a fellow Philadelphian proclaim something about a festival. This caught his ear. Festivals equaled food, right? He plopped down in the shade and listened. It didn't take long for the dog to realize that the man was not going to talk about food. The only thing he took away from it was that the man intended to run a number of businesses single-handedly. Mr Barkston found this to be amusing. Wouldn't the business owners want to run their own establishments?

Taking a moment to pause, Timothy steadied himself as he channeled his mind reading abilities. Sensing that some of the hungry onlookers might not wish to partake of a festival operated solely by him, Timothy decided to announce an amendation to the previous plans.

By all means, the citizens of Philadelphia that would like to open and operate their own business in name of the upcoming festival instead of contracting out my services may do so.

Just make sure that you signify it is to be part of the festivities by making the acronym PBDC easily visible when you open shop on May 10th.

All prizes that are to be given out will apply to these businesses as well!

With a nod and a smile, Timothy surveyed the crowd in search of anyone else that had questions about the upcoming festival wanting to make sure no concerns were missed.

Mr Barkston was out in streets again with no one paying him any mind. Honestly, he though That Guy He Knew cared more about him, but apparently it didn't bother the man in the slightest that the dog was out playing in traffic and all sorts of other dangerous things that would certainly result in a deep feeling of guilt when the dog ended up getting hurt. That asshole. So, the dog wandered down the street, looking for something to get into. He vaguely remembered that there was some sort of festival in town. It had started, hadn't it? He hoped that this time there'd be food, and headed over to Philly's business district.

Taking a step back up on the soapbox after a busy day, Timothy pulled a list from his his pocket and addressed the crowd once again watching from the corner of his eye as Mr_Barkton dogded Semi trucks on the busy freeway.

The festival is officially underway ladies and gentlemen and the following businesses have been opened specifically for this event!

Bello Motors, operated by the one and only Mr_Barkston.

Crawford's Irish Pub and Rare Books

Durzo's DDD festival and fairground

Lovegun's Taco Stand

Folding the list and placing back in his jacket pocket, Timothy lights a smoke and continues.

Seeing as preparations took longer than expected, I've decided to extend the operations through 17th at which time prizes will be judged and awarded on the 18th.

LoveGun's Extraordinary Taco Stand!

She shouted to the masses while standing on the hood of some car.

Really ya be not livin' till ya be havin' one of these tacos!

A man started to beat LoveGun with a rolled up newspaper.

"You crazy woman! Get off of my car or I'll call the police!"

LoveGun glared at the man, hopped off the car, took the paper bat and turned it on him.

I be seein' ya havn't had a taco sir! I highly advise you t' change that!

LoveGun ushered him towards the taco stand.
