Belle Isle Downs - A Fairest Racing Track Started by: Abby-Whitehill on Oct 14, '20 13:29

Rich with natural beauty, and history, Belle Isle is a gem that one could only find in Michigan.  This 987 acre features a conservatory, aquarium, museum, picnicking areas, a zoo, and 150 acres of pristine wilderness overlooking the Windsor skyline.

Amidst all this manmade and natural beauty, you will find The Belle Isle Downs.  A Class A horse track opened by Abby Whitehill of Aloha Conservation Inc. lead by the fantastic Mist_and_Shadows in cooperation in cooperation with Mr. Keats and @Mercy Fiorentino creator of Fairest Racing.

Belle Isle Downs features a multi-million dollar racebook, sports bar, and event venue: 'Belle Isle Park' which is open to the public with free admission.

Of course, the centerpiece of Belle Isle Downs is our 5-level glass-enclosed and climate-controlled grandstand with a seating capacity of 5,000.  Enjoy the races in comfort no matter the weather or season!  Our top level of the grandstand features a VIP box that accommodates up to 150 guests and 20 penthouse suites which can accommodate up to 30 people each during our living racing events.

A press box is near the edge of the track where local media are provided the best view of the finish line for photo finishes and guest announcers of each race provide an extra level of excitement week after week.

Belle Isle Downs consists of 10 barns with accommodations for 300 horses.  It also includes a receiving building, holds and test barns, administrative buildings and a maintenance barn.

The track is a one-mile dirt oval with seven-furlong and 550 yard chutes, 90 foot wide with six-degree banking on the turns.  It's 930 feet from the final turn to the finish line.

As you arrive for race day, Abby Whitehill and her business partners are mingling among the crowd welcoming you and directing you to the place where you can place your bets!

Vasili entered the establishment brimming with nostalgia. The place reminded him of the Moscow Hippodrome where he had spent many a Sunday afternoons with his grandmother. It was just as well that she never lived to see what became of it. Watching Stalin shut it down would have broken her heart. As he watched the guests milling about, he contemplated about the state of his childhood haunt, wondering how long it would take before the property collapsed in a pile of flames and rubble.

With an exhausted sigh, he shook away the past from his eyes and made his way further inside away from the gentry towards the social elite. Pausing only to place a modest bet and grab a drink, he settled into the VIP box, eyeing the penthouses curiously before turning his gaze to the pristine track below him.

He intended to take in a bit of fun and reconnect with his past before finding the properietor to deal with the business interests that had intrigued him so.

Quadir went to Belle Isle Downs, he loved betting on the horses, he knew a few of the retired jockeys who would spill the beans on which jockey was having issues with another jockey.  Which horses had posted consistant best times.  This gave him a more competitive edge agisnt the house.  The house takes in 30-40 thousand per race and pays out 1-5 thousand in winnings.  Quad was the guy that wanted to win 5 out of 10 weekly while it was racing season.

Joker was at the Belle Isle Downs betting on the horses and meeting with mobster's Bugsy Calhoun and Snake eye Willie.   They wanted Joker to kick up 10 points to operate in the motor city.   Joker wanted them to kick him up 20 points to continue operating in the moter city.  They talked for about a ten minutes before Joker looked at them and asked are they finished.  When they said yeah Joker made his counter offer and then told them they had till tonight to kick up or push up daisy's.

Calhoun then laughed and told Joker he was a dead man.  Joker gave a long sigh as he nodded yes.  Joker then looked at Willie and said I'll see you tonight and then told Calhoun it was nice to finally meet him and one day he will see his point and realize that 20 points was pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.  Joker hand Calhoun his winning tickets and told Calhoun he needed the money more than he did and left the two men their with five grand in winnings.
