I dont see what you can't demote?  Not being in the mafia I don't know if they did/didn't do it.  But in reality surely if someone made a mistake that wasn't that threatening they would be demoted and not killed?

I agree the reason for doing it here is to take advantage of buying cheaper BGs so perhaps solve that and not take away demoting functionality?  Perhaps if you are demoted you can't buy BGs 5 days?    

Izzy has stated on multiple ocassions that wack and defense is currently balanced. Doing anything that would affect the purchase of Bodyguards would only mess that balance up again. I disagree with this idea.

It's a "reset" idea...I came to terms with it awhile back.

Also, there's no justification for being demoted in the mafia. You either don't fuck up or have a minor fuck up and pay out the ass for it. Demotion is death.

In the mob, there wern't demotions, it was either you're forgiven, or you die. There's no such thing as getting 'un-made'.

Perhaps those who are given the rank of Made Man can not be demoted lower than Made. If you aren't a full member of the family who says you can't be demoted back to thug, but like other's have already stated once you are made the only way out is a box.

As it has been pointed out many times, not everything in Mafia Returns can fit the real world. The way this would hurt BG purchases, I'd think, is obvious. If you can no longer get demoted, you can no longer buy them as cheap. If you can no longer buy them as cheap, they cost more and you most likely end up with less protection. This would mean that the MIAs/RIAs and NPCs would have to be adjusted to fit the new "Average" protection. As I stated before, I do not like this idea.

So'd there would be less MIAs/RIAs? Seeing as the defense average is being lowered, the average gun level would have to be lowered to match this correct? Less targets? This also makes gun hunting more competitive, which people have been looking for for ages. Phreaking Panda the point of, it would make BGs too expensive is just asking to be screamed at? The argument made by many when people ask why thugs can have BGs is that people with the money have the power (in this case the BGs). So what your saying is screw making the game more competitive, lets just keep it easy, how about we lower HQ prices so we can all have Crews and fill them up with NPCs so we all have thousands of millions of billions of dollars and max BGs aswell.

I don't see any drawbacks from being unable to demote past Made man. I may have missed something here so if anyone sees that i have kindly fill in or fill me in.

Are you kidding me? I know of several people that struggle to hunt down RIAs without some other trained hitters getting there first. Lowering the amount of them would make this more common place. I'm with Panda on this.

This can't be inacted as-is.  If it was, you would have people that were able to take advantage of getting demoted for BGs, and every new account that is shit out of luck.

Have you fired your gun at an IA lately? When all of the hitters on the site are IA hunting, you're lucky if you get one or two a day. It's already competitive enough because everyone and their mother can shoot now with the implementation of MIAs and NPCs. The only way to stop this from affecting the BG balance in the game is that hitters would stop being promoted to Made Man until they had their BGs. Then, the site would be full of Wise Guys. This idea would change nothing at all. If they didn't hold hitters at Made Man, and they were unable to be demoted back to Thug, it would affect the BGs able to be purchased, thus affect the wack/defense balance as I already stated. If you can't see this, you're rather blind.

Although some people will say if you have the money you should get the reward, fair enough but under what circumstances can some one be demoted to a bottom associate after being made? I personnally can see no action that would make that happen, if someone can please reply to this and tell me.

Wouldn't less targets deter a good number of these people? So then not everyone and their mother can shoot, just the shooters, or people that are determined and put the time into getting better which are the people you want shooting, who care and want to become better? The fact that it is competitive at the moment because of lets say 5 people are all gunning for one target, means that the title of hitter has been reduced to something that is laughable and the balance is already upset that people without BGs are forced into competition for guns? As for holding people at made. People already stack on BGs to their friends/ancestors at a young age, so the argument of them holding them there is void. What we want to stop is bosses or consigs who stack on the cash then ask for a demotion then stack on the BGs.
