| A Tribute to Greatness! | Started by: Gunther on Nov 26, '20 01:10 |

Gunther had spent months hunting down, interviewing, and vetting artisans of marble sculpture. He had spent well over a million dollars in marble, travel costs, lodging, and various other expenses. He would task them with various statues, essentially commissioning them for projects that would never see the light of day. All of this in search of the very best. On the eighth month of his search, he found such a person. An old man, in his early sixties. This man was capable of great things. Effortlessly bringing marble to life with extreme attention to detail. This was the level of perfection Gunther sought for his project.
He had the man flown to New York City, and lodged in the finest hotel, with anything he could need at his finger tips. Gunther was able to acquire a massive shipment of precious, white, Turkish marble. The massive block was two stories high, and shined brilliantly when exposed to the natural light of the sun. Gunther had the large marble block transported to an abandoned aircraft hangar, purchased the best sculpture tools in existence, and gave the old man a task. He handed the old man an album of photographs of his leader, Giyu.
"Your job is to bring this man to life through this marble, waste not an inch in height from this block, and ensure that when it is complete, that no person could ever mistake who this monument pays homage to."
The old man looked through the album for a few minutes intensely. He nodded his head a few times, scratched his head, and then smiled. His eye's met Gunther's and he gave a strong nod of affirmation. He did not speak. He simply picked up a pencil and began putting marks on the massive block of glistening marble. Gunther left the man to his task, and left an associate to keep track of progress, and to report to Gunther when the old man was finished.
Four months had passed, and Gunther was caught off guard when his messenger came sprinting into his office.
"Sir it's done! That statue is done! You've gotta see it sir!"
Gunther jumped to his feet, grabbed his jacket, and was at the hanger in minutes. He walked in and there it was, in absolute sheer glory. Standing tall at 25 foot tall, Giyu. It captured him perfectly from every angle. The old man had done something beyond Gunther's imagination, and from photographs no less. This was sure to please his glorious leader, and impress any that visit New York City. Gunther ordered his men to have the statue installed in the large courtyard in front of the Murder of Rogues headquarters in Brooklyn. He would inform no one of this project, it would be done overnight. It would be discovered by all, and admired by all, as the first light of morning broke over the horizon. |

Gunther stood before the impressive statue erected some two months ago. It was still standing tall in all of its glory. He couldn't believe how many people had come to admire the workmanship put into it. There were crowds of New Yorkers all around. Some were drinking coffee, some stood around discussing current affairs, some were even laying wreaths under the statue in honor of the great hero of the revolution. It was an amazing sight to see. Gunther was filled with pride in commissioning such a wonderful sight for the city. Yet another New York land mark for all to marvel before. |
