Tier 3 for me - If I venture out of my house for more than an hour, they have legal grounds to put me on the naughty step and make me miss Christmas dinner.

Tier 4 out here and lemme tell you, this just feels well the same as all the other times, fucked.

Can't go out unless for shopping or exercise, did neither really, but still, feels the same. So hope everyone else is holding up well!

In my state in America, my governor has been pretty good with regulations.

It's been interesting to see how everyone has been doing regulations in all the countries and major cities.

I didn't quite understand the UK 'Tier list' for a while until I actually started reading about it.

It sounds effective, but sucky for parents :c

I don’t know about the UK but here in Quebec we are under curfew now from 8pm to 5 am and I don’t like it. Not that I want to go anywhere after 8pm especially since half the stores are caution taped off, but sometimes I like to go to the corner store at night for choccy milk or chippies... now they close at 7:30 so I have to see people. Ew. 

truth be told, im not completely understanding the tier list but i have enough of an understanding that most, if not every store is shut down. I really dont care how they do it at this point, i just want to feel some sense of normalcy. I would like to get back to going to my hockey games again and reallly want to catch one while the season is in full swing again.

I think most of the Uk is getting fed up of being in lockdown, The problem is the more people don't follow the rules the longer we end up in lockdown. It's stupid people don't follow the "rules" and moan when they get stricter :D

South UK here, I live in one of the first few tier 1 areas and In the beginning it looked great but that soon changed and within a couple of weeks we were slapped with tier 4 like the rest of the UK 

I do feel that nobody should have been tier1 it just made them look like desirable areas to visit and that was the end of that

Lockdown is the most fun I've had since never.  Honestly the sooner the vaccine is mass distributed the better!  

Could be worse...Nobody cares enough in America.  It's great.  Someone screams distancing, so my town throws a giant pool party, makes national headlines and goes viral LMAO

What are England's lockdown rules?

People must stay at home and only go out if you have "a reasonable excuse".

You are not to meet people socially unless you live together or form a support bubble.

People breaking these rules can face fines, including an £800 penalty for those attending house parties of more than 15 people - and a £10,000 fine for the organisers.

How long will lockdowns last?

• Scotland - Beginning of March
• England - next announcement expected around 22 February
• Wales - until at least 19 February
• Northern Ireland - lockdown has been extended until 5 March

Over here we have had a curfew, but apparently its illegal if not at war, so a judge ruled it illegal. Then another judge said it still has to go on.. What a mess..

I must admit I'm getting pretty fed up with the lockdown in the UK, but it does seem to have been effective at bringing the numbers down.

As a family we've been pretty strict about abiding by the rules because we understand their purpose. It was brought in to sharp focus for me pretty brutally recently, I've seen my Mother once since mid-January last year. The only time I've seen her was at my uncle's funeral a few weeks ago. He died from covid. Let me tell you, being at the funeral of a much loved relative is crappy enough, but when you're there with your mother who is incredibly upset at losing her brother, and you can't put her arm around her to comfort her, that's really hard.

It is fairly interesting, as per Tammy's comments, how far emergency powers can go for certain governmental offices. For instance, the Pennsylvanian Supreme Court found Governor Wolf's emergency closure of basically everything to be unconstitutional. However, there's no doubt it smacks of politics, if not a strict understanding of documents that might not have foreseen pandemics, without flexibility of interpretation. At the end of the day, there will be a significant economic impact stemming from the failure of governments around the world to mitigate this pandemic. And that won't be pretty to see. 

As someone living in Florida it's insane to me hearing people are still locked down and unable to go do things, FL has been wide open for months now. How do you guys think it's affected you living in lockdown for so long? 

Well, New York has just been ... loads of fun. Though restaurants are opening back up at some sorta capacity so it's not terrible.... just far from normal.
