Sensitive issue is this one, it’s certainly a conflicting set of events that challenges much of the sanctity of our chosen vocation and as such it’s understandable people are considering their own standing before deciding not to comment within the public realm, clear indication would be the fact that a long serving member of this thing of ours, a relatively new Godfather, was clandestinely assassinated along with his most loyal subjects and yet the fine ladies and gentleman of the current six occupied cities didn’t come out in numbers to speak on such an intriguing set of events, little even was there of the usual irrational mentality from a member of the deceased party, though the latter may be down to the quality of bloodline that surrounded the late Godfather of Los Angeles.
There is no getting away from the fact that Foxxy’s decision to orchestrate the removal of her superiors and contemporaries from the so called and now defunct ‘City of Angels’ was highly immoral, to most it was a grievous violation of the code to which we are bound, it was clearly lacking in a great deal of ethics even before her disastrous attempt at nullifying any further potential fallout with her poorly executed public relations speech, perhaps if she’d contemplated her ruthless verdict on Drexler’s failings in a more diplomatic manner she wouldn’t have received so much ire from the community, directly or otherwise and things potentially could have differed in outcome.
One has to question the timing of Foxxy’s removal, as outwardly it looks highly indecisive, clearly having taken much deliberation from the current figureheads who’ve all differed in their approach to unfolding circumstances. New York’s role for instance, while undoubtedly they considered their approach carefully, they still chose to aide Foxxy, in unceremoniously eradicating a very stable and innovative organisation from Los Angeles, thus it must be recognised that they were well aware of the treacherous actions that Foxxy endeavoured to initiate and gave blessing by default with their actions. It’s worked out extremely well in their favour, Foxxy has done them a wonderful turn by becoming a public figure of hate, a scapegoat if you will but do remember, New York pulled the trigger. The finality of the situation remains on their decision to ally themselves with Foxxy. New York chose not the route of diplomacy but shunned it for aggressive measures, hence their lack of communication with Chicago, a rival city, who gave Drexler the city of Los Angeles to begin with as a satellite initiative.
Foxxy could never have been allowed to sit at the table as she differed from the rest, she orchestrated her short-lived ascension to power by removing those in her way, in this case her superior. Nobody else at the table has had to go that route, while I do not question the work ethic it has taken to arrive, it has come through much more passive means for the rest, a gift of a city for the most part, having had sanctuary to progress during a period of stability, or what some may call stagnation.
As for being on a radar for the use of deception as a means to an end rather than diplomacy, I must say that everyone should be on this radar. Chicago itself holds a family under the description of The Masters of Deception, though perhaps it belongs elsewhere.
Salut. |

I'll address this briefly, Dash. I'm glad you brought up a lot of what you did, because in this business, perception is everything. You speak as an outsider who is ignorant to a lot of how higher up dealings actually work. Firstly, I think you're confusing Drexler's removal and Foxxy's removal as one and the same, when in reality they were two separate occurrences. New York removed Drexler as they had begun to tire of receiving intel about Drexler's higher ups continually spreading rumors about war and discord among the cities. Foxxy's role in Drexler's demise was, as I mentioned, quite small. Her role in her own demise was much larger.
I think you're confusing a lot of our tenants, Dash. As city heads, if we were constantly trying to deceive one another, we wouldn't go anywhere. One of the sole purposes of our being is to make a lot of money without having to go through the drudgery of working a 9-5 job. We rob, we cheat, we steal, and we kill when the situation warrants. However, there is an old saying that states, "There is honor amongst thieves", no truer can an example be found than in the mafia. We may not come by our wealth on an up-and-up fashion, but we understand that most of the time cutting into someone's operation will cost us something as well.
You are also wrong in the aspect that people who sit at our table are all authed to be there. Maybe if your memory goes back so far as to remember Cherokee, who led a coup against Joey Cesari to take over Saint Louis. We recognized him as the leader of that city until his improbably death. When you make that kind of move, you need to make sure all your ducks are in a row and that the service you can provide is greater than your predecessor. Foxxy did not contact any of the city heads that I'm aware of outside of New York before or after being left alive in Los Angeles. When you go about obtaining power in a manner meant to deceive those around you, that's fine... But if you get caught, you will always pay. That's an important lesson to learn, Dash, deception can become a part of this lifestyle, but you will always reap what you sow if found out.
Finally, there's the idiotic notion of "rival cities". Dash, maybe you've only heard tales of our history, but I've LIVED that history. The idea of rival cities is something made up by people like you to make your thoughts on matters seem more relevant than they are. People called Chicago and New York rival cities when TheDean was around, how did that observation turn out? Our "rivalry" was so fierce we only rebuilt empires and made each other freakishly rich. Whatsername, RoRog, Premeir, InspectorGadget, Gaius, and I enjoy that same success today based off of that foundation. If we were always working to one up each other or sabotage the other's operation, then we would lose money, end of.
I can understand where you're coming from in some of your points, Dash, as I think you voice a lot of what the paranoid portion of our society believes, and I appreciate the chance to address those ridiculous thoughts head on. |

Thank you for addressing the matter, Roman. I must say that Foxxy's actions left a bad taste in my mouth, as I was a big fan of the things happening in LA.
With the removal of Foxxy I hope that this whole unfortunate event is brought to an end. Its clear our city heads are happy with the outcome, each having their own reasons for their actions and coming to an overal agreement on the recent actions.
Rest well LA. |

I am in complete concurrence in regards to your observation on the importance of perception within the fabric of this society, it’s these perceived notions that keep us from descending into chaos, it’s organised crime, after all, though it’s also these same notions that create a forum for the more tedious moments in time to be seized upon by those who’re perceived to be looking out for the interests of the masses and completely suffocated to the point that the essence of what we once represented is a distant memory and the vision that was shared is completely eradicated, my apologies, here I am digressing.
It’s also factually true that I do speak as a relative outsider, in more ways than one it would seem, though as you’re clearly aware until your request for my deposition I did hold a hierarchical position in a family within the realms of your city, Chicago, so it’s fairly safe to assume, for the most part, I hold counsel with numerous counterparts throughout the cities who would be of a generally high standing and who’s information and perceived notions that I hold in my deepest respects and would go as far as to say recognise as an equally valid stance.
As for confusing and not recognising the perceived untimely demise of a Godfather and the instigator of said events as separate entities does somewhat confuse me as it seems all parties have done their best whether publicly or private to explicate the fact that they’re clearly interwoven, regardless of the time scale between the intricate detailing which is now being confirmed. In this regard I may still be missing the point, if so I apologise.
As it happens, in regards to your example of Cherokee completing the removal of Joey Cesari from St Louis, which echoes certain similarities along with Ancalagon’s debacle of New Orleans as another relatively recent example come to think, my lineage at the time was outwardly vocal in questioning the merits of such actions and gave condemnation for the distasteful act to which he was publicly critiqued and privately championed as a sign of the dissolution of the code we chose to live by. I would also like to make note, that it must be said that Cherokee had the full backing up his fellow leaders of the city, along with whomever else but having spoken with the descendants of those leaders in private, I don’t mind sharing that their journals speak of regret of the mutiny of Joey Cesari, not all but some and as a final note on this example and this is my perception again, though Cherokee was accepted by fellow city heads, he wasn’t accepted by the people, I attest to this.
I’ll be honest, I love propaganda, it’s enthralled me over the years, there are some who deliver it with such brilliance that you simply must take a moment to appreciate, I consider yourself to be a champion of the art, it’s exquisitely executed. Tarnish me with the paranoia label if you must, it would seemingly fit to the untrained eye or those of a more ignorant disposition but I’d have to say it simply isn’t true. I’m not trying to convey a sense of negative rivalry for the mere sake in doing so in regards to the Windy cities relations to that of the Big Apple, I’m one of the first to recognise the important of dialogue and diplomacy when the need arises but I must make it clear that nobody is deceived by the ideal that they’re one and the same. There is of course a perceived level of threat from all walks of life, New York simply happens to be the largest in terms of numbers and reputations. Rivalries are there just as friendships are to be championed, they bring a competitive edge which is necessity to continue fuelling a city.
Prior to my line coming to Chicago it sat in the upper echelons of New York, my ancestors frowned then on causing unnecessary disruptive ‘paranoid’ criticisms to would be rival cities in regards to non issues. It still stands.
I’ll finish on this, there is an old saying, predating your own and it goes “there is no honour amongst thieves” I stand by that, in the civilian world and that of organised crime.
(Apologies go to Phreaking_Panda and his family for my earlier remark, it was a simple play on words but I recognise it could be construed as offensive, to you that was not my intention. I had no business using your family name as an example, I apologise.) |

That was a good speech Roman. Thank you for explaining some of the stuff that happened known to the public. I think it is good that you decided to come out here and tell us all of this. I for one did not like what foxxy had done. I liked Drexler and thought he was a pretty good guy. When I noticed he had died, I was shocked. I spent the next little bit searching for who and why. When I came up with foxxy, I was rather shocked. I think what goes around comes around. And it came back around on foxxy. |

Bag was outside of the room where the meeting was held between the Godfathers, eavesdropping. HE knew drex as Drexler was one of the really great mafia who helped him out in the starting of the game, being really patient with Bag. So, Bag had to make a speech, he just had to. He opens teh door an denters the room
" Well, sorry to intterupt the meeting, but I jsut wanted to say a couple things. First of, I believe Roman had just make a really wise decision. I'm glad to see the right actions taken. Ever since I have joined the game, Drexler was there to help me out. He was a really good guy, and the speech made by foxxy regarding why she had people shot him and his crew dead, well, whether it was true or not, which I realyl doubt even 90percent of it is true. What foxxy done was wrong. Drex had gaven her the opportunity to be where she was, and instead, she thanks him by having him shot dead. That really shows how ungrateful she is. And in my opinion, she acted out of lust for power, greedy and selfish reasons. Now that's not how a mafia should behave.
So well, I guess that's all I have to say. May the familes of the dead be at ease . and ciao"
Bag ended his speech as he made his way out |

Having seen Godfather Roman's car drive up, Angel paused to see what was going on. Seeing his massive throng of bodyguards moving toward the soapbox, she moved closer as Godfather Roman made his way up to address the growing crowd. After listening to Godfather Romans speech, Angel raises her voice a little and says |

Clarence listens intently to all that is being said, and rather than mess around like he normally would, decides to speak up.
I still think it's fresh to see an explanation to the masses for events that have unfolded on such a gargantuan scale, So thank you Godfather Roman for taking the time out to explain these matters.
The demise of Los Angeles so quickly has saddened me deeply.
He sees an old foe walking through the gathering crowd with a smirk on his face.
Just keep walking buddy!...
Anyway,like I was saying,
I'm hoping the efforts, the promise and potential will not be lost in the ruins and ashes of the City of Angels, I for one, was looking forward to trips there, now just a derelict, desolate place of ruin. I do hope it can be rebuilt as quickly as it has fallen. |

You are missing the point, yes. The timeline is purely coincidental to the actions taken against LA in both instances.
"Tarnish me with the paranoia label if you must, it would seemingly fit to the untrained eye or those of a more ignorant disposition but I’d have to say it simply isn’t true."
I'll have to disagree, any time you offer your thoughts on something without being near the inner workings it is pure conjecture and does indeed spark paranoia both in yourself and others. I understand not being in the inner circle in what goes on can be a frustrating issue to deal with, but we do our best to inform the public as much as we can without endangering our own operations. Again, I appreciate your interrogation of the events that occurred, blunt and without merit as they may have been, it allowed me to reach an underserved part of our way of life and to dispel some of the most popular misconceived ideas that float around our world. |

Simplicity listened in to Roman talk about what happened and why Foxxy was brought to her demise. In her mind it was bound to happen for such traitorish acts that Foxxy had made, how Drexler's own RHW that he put trust in would go to these lengths to decieve everyone she worked with and get him killed. She could even recall a similar reaction from quite a long time ago.
"As happy as I am to see LA clean of such a traitor, but my bloodline has seen such events take place before."
Pausing for a moment, Simplicity began to remember the time in Philly.
"My family was quite young at the time, but I had the story passed down to me by my mother. The time of when the Godfather of Philly chose to war. Yet, sitting back and doing nothing was his whole city. Many considered Philly a traitor to their own Godfather and then not long after they were wiped out for it. You can learn a thing or two from the past. You may think that we're all in this thing for ourselves, but if you think that way...you will get wiped out. This thing of ours is directly related to 'honour among thieves', whether you believe it or not."
Simplicity smiled at the reuse of the quote. She then worked on closing up her little speech before heading back to work.
"Hopefully Foxxy's next in line understands this now. For you will quickly meet the bullet of a gun if you do not."
And with her last statement, Simplicity made her way back to her car and then told the driver to be on his way. |

Gaius stepped up behind Godfather Roman and pulled a cigarette from his wrist pack. Striking a match against his boot he stood and motioned for his throng of bodyguards to remain as they were, while the old man stepped up on a nearby cart. Gaius had listened to the individuals before him. Godfather Roman had explained in detail what had transpired in LA last night, and was now being challenged in pointlessly articulate fashion, by someone too educated and insecure, to be content employing the common tongue.
