It was a lonely day, TheGreenFairy roaming around Paris with no particular mission, as everyone who needed her the night before was now passed out. As she flew around the Arc de Triomphe, then the Eiffel Tower, she decided a change of pace was in order. Seeming as she had nothing to pack, she rested for the last time on the top of the Sacre Coeur, enjoying the view of Paris twinkling below her. |

Sweeney was sitting with some of his friends and family members in a booth. Keeps glancing at the bar to see a women all alone. Everytime she looked at him. Quicky looks away. Trying to have courage to go up to her and talk to her.
After a couple of drinks of vodka in his Mnt Dew can he gets up. Walking around people to get closer to the bar. Goes slow; trying to think of something to say. But, Sweeney can't focus as he's walking. Looks up to see her looking around. He takes a seat next to her. Puts the can down between his legs.
He studders: Hello, madam.....How...how are you?
Takes a quick swig of his drink. Trying to relax. |

Green was all she could see, she grew a little confused and looked closer, she still could only see green. Fox tilted her head and closed her eyes then pinched them together before opening them again, still she only saw green. Why is this all I can see? Have I died and gone to green hell? I think I drank too much. With that last thought, at least she thought it was a thought but soon found out she said it out loud…someone spoke with her.
“Is there such a thing as too much drinking? I think not. Now go and drink some more of that delicious absinthe. Become lost. ”
A whisper tickles her ear and with that she didn’t see green, she was back in the speakeasy seeing everyone dancing around, jugging more drinks, and laughing themselves asleep. She sighed with a relief, she was beginning to worry about her sanity again but now felt there was no need to worry. She could only vaguely remember someone just whispering to her and soon forgot about it as she made her drink. She grabbed a clean class and poured two shots of absinthe in then she placed the silver diamond shaped, perforated spoon with a ridge cut into it, perfectly on the rim of the glass. Grabbing two sugar cubes she laid it on the spoon before pouring yet another shot of absinthe over the sugar; giving it a good soak she then lights the sugar on fire. Her eyes grew big and full of color as she watched the blue fire burn the white sugar until it caramelize and melt into the glass. Finishing up her drink she poured a quite shot of ice-cold water over the flame and then stirred the drink till it louche. She always had the habit of taking a small sip before to test and make sure she didn’t get that bad shiver down the spine before she jugged the drink. Her tongue decides the absinthe was prepared well and she takes it all with one gulp.
She was sure she was okay as she danced around enjoying the music and the fuzzy feeling that took over her body; she couldn’t feel her feet and started to think she was floating. That’s when she started seeing green again, just green and nothing else. She looked around confused trying to see something other than the vibrant shade of green…she looked closer and saw shiny glitter like substance on the green. She wiggled her nose and tried to think what this could be…Was I in hell? Did I drink too much?
“Do not be silly, we had this conversation before there is no such thing as drinking too much.”
“Oh yeah, that is right, I remember now. I am sorry, pardon me.”
Making the movement to walk away, Fox suddenly stopped and realized she talked to someone…but whom? She looked around to just see green so she asks.
“Do you see the green too?”
She could her laughing and chuckling but no other response was offered, she was growing tired of these mind tricks and started to truly think she need to go to an institute. After that abrupt thought she could see her surroundings again and her fellow drinkers; she shook her head and agreed no more drinks for her.
“Do not be silly, drink, drink, and drink some more. Do not fear you are not in hell.”
“Who said that? Show yourself this very instance.”
She had grown tired of these games and wanted no more mind tricks; a green fairy all of a sudden appeared in front of her face it came closer and closer until it blocked her vision only showing her green. She then realized she had just been looking at the fairy to close, she chuckles at herself and realizes what a silly goof she was being. She wasn’t at hell oh no she was seeing fairies was all. |

As soon as Melody was about to walk into the bar, a patron had stumbled out from the doorway almost falling face first onto the pavement. Melody was able to catch him with some effort so she herself did not end up on the ground with him. He looked at her with a blank stare. Cocked his head and began his walk down the street murmuring something about a green fairy. Melody paid no attention to the man, he was drunk. Explained it. Mel walked in like usual and headed straight for the bar. Grabbed a stool and placed herself down on the padded seat and called to the bartender. She quickly glanced around and heeded no attention to anything particular.
What can I get you miss?
Just a beer good sir. Nothing to hard tonight.
Coming right up.
As he walked away Mel watched him pick up a bottle from a box behind the bar...she could have sworn it was glowing. No. Than she saw the bartender give it a man a few seats down the bar from her. What the... The man had a spoon with sugar cubes on it. Than poured this glowing liquid onto the sugar. She focused more on the man as he also light the sugar on fire. No way! Than he chugged the liquid down with one gulp. Than out the corner of Mel's eye's she began to see that the whole bar was lit up with the glowing liquid. Everyone had it at their table do the same thing. Her eyebrow raised. She was confused. She startled herself when her beer was already in front of her. She was so lost at what she was seeing, she didn't notice the bartender place her beer.
Excuse me sir...can you tell me what that it is everyone has?
Sure. It's Absinth. Just got it in.
He gave her the bottle to inspect herself. She held it up close to her eye and squinted. It seemed so otherworldly. It felt like forever she had held it in her hands looking at it. It put her in a trance. Just a glass... |
