I really need to stop this...

Ald stubbed out his Columbian cigar in his Mercedes's ashtray, and stepped out of the car.

Another day, another dollar.

He stared at the building, a small two story brick complex, a single pane window on the front, a door, and carcasses in front, above the windows was a sign that read Monticelli's Butcher Shop. He grabbed a baseball bat from his passenger seat and shut the door. He walked up to a group of kids on the sidewalk by the shop and pulled out a $50 bill.

Kid, i'll give you this, if you watch for any cops, and tell me when you see them. Or at least signal me.

The youth nodded, and told his pal to look out, Aldo walked in the store, with the kid intently watching through the window, to see the butcher's eyes widen at the sight of the bat. Without a word, Aldo walks up to the counter and smashes a glass case.

You think because we're the Nanny Syndicate that we can be fucked around with!

N-n-n-n.

before the butcher could stop stuttering, aldo smashed the cash register clean off of the counter.

Where the fuck is out cut, meat boy!

The butcher pointed towards the back rooms. Aldo looks and nods, then smashes the right knee of the butcher, with a force that could hit a grand slam at a White Sox game.

We expect our protection payments ON TIME! Ya got that!!!

The butcher nodded, and as Aldo turned to the back, he whimpered in pain. aldo stided into the back and up the stairs into a notorious gambling racket. But upon reaching the top, a young thug, around age twenty, rushed at him with a Bowie knife.

This is our turf now you old fucker! Fuck off!

Tsk tsk, no respect for your superiors.

The youth lunged, and Aldo slammed the bat at the point where the spine contacted the brain. If he wasn't dead, he wasn't going to move or a long time.

Now does anyone else here, want to try and stop me from getting MY FUCKING MONEY!

Everyone backed up to the wall, and aldo strided across the room to where the 'pit boss' stood with a satchel. He grabbed the satchel, checked it, and threw it over his shoulder.

Never again, you hear me!

Aldo left the store, handed the kid a $50, and looked up. He saw dark clouds, then looked to his convertable.

Well, another day, another dollar.

Aldo got into his roadster, drove back to his loft, and relaxed for the rest of the day. There would be more to do tomorrow, maybe with a partner..... To be continued.

Se7ven watches the scene unfold from inside a local cafe across the street. He smiles to himself as he recognizes the man as a fellow mafioso.

Se7ven smiles at the man's words.

"Another day, another dollar"

He tests the words out with his own mouth, he smiles, thinking that it is a perfect motto to live by. Leaving a light tip, Se7ven grips his coffee and walks down the street, thinking of his own plans for the day.

Mel had come out of a local cafe with her coffee in hand. She threw back on her sunglasses and straightened her tie. Blew her hair out of her face and began walking down the street. She was startled though when she heard glass shatter from across the street and yelling from inside the butcher shop. She took a sip of her coffee and squinted her eyes to see what was going on.

Than she clued in and smiled. Than conintued on with her day.

The phone rang once. Stopped for 20 seconds then chirped up again. EvilClown placed his espresso gently down onto the saucer walked over to the booth at the back of the diner dn picked up the phone.

"Yes?"

"One of chicagos boys has just cleaned out a new venture of mine, a racket at Monticelli's Butcher Shop. I want you to go over there and sort this out. I will not accept those fuckers thinking they can step on my toes any more." With that the phone clicked off.

EvilClown sighed... So much for a peaceful couple of days, his uncle was due over from the old country tomorrow and the last thing he needed was to get embroiled in some petty turf war again. But the voice payed well and usually the jobs he gave to Clown were inconsequential, nothing that a couple of 9mm pieces of lead couldn't solve.

Picking up his coat and hat he flicked a coin towards Mo, the diners owner, and headed over to Monti's shop. He knew that fat prick well, a greedy bastard that liked counting his coins, his shop had doubled up as a card den for a couple of years now. He'd use that as his first lever. Monti was well respected in the local community not many knew about his little deviancies.

Clowns Cadillac pulled to the kerb 2 blocks from the butchers not long after, he walked slowly over to the shop. A group of youths were milling around the window and door, it was obvious what ever happened here was still bubbling over, 3 of the cities finest were standing guard outside the door blue shirts and brass shining in the sun. Clown walked over.

"What happened here officer?"

"Get yee gone , ya punk.. None of yer dammed business what went on here."

Clown ignored the constable and looked the sergeant in the eye. He had dealing with this guy, caught him cock in hand a couple of times at the brothel he ran.

"Sergeant, surely you can tell this young pup of an officer, I'm only being friendly, let me step inside. I have an order with Monti that is ready for collection."

Saying nothing the old sergeant inclines his head. Taking this as an affirmative response Clown steps inside. The front of the shop has been smashed up good, but that wasn't what concerned him, he stepped into the back room. The fat bastard butcher was sitting on the floor holding his knee.

"Monti..." As Clown spoke Montis eyes jerked up and he instinctively shuffled back a couple of inches "What have you let happen here? My Boss is VERY displeased!" Clown smiled and stood on Montis damaged Knee, he let out a pitiful yelp before stammering:

"It was a fucker from the nanny state, just marched straight in here smashed the place up and took off with all the cash."

"Well that just won't do now will it Monti. Consider your operation closed... for the time being at least. Oh and I'll be expecting my usual payment next Tuesday, have a good day."

Leaving the pitiful butcher sobbing in the corner EvilClown walked out of the shop, tipped his hat toward the sergeant and headed back to his car. This was going to be a long fucking day.
