Outside of the plot, there is plenty of activities to do so too, as constructing the likes of a trading post would allow you to acquire valuable goods, while a shipyard would open up the possibility to design your warship. Thanks to your hard work, it is also very rewarding to see a lifeless camp steadily progress into a bustling city.

The worst part of the story of Valhalla is undeniably all that concerns the sinister institutions of the Ancient Ones and the ludicrous subplot of animus, two of the largest narrative tropes that incorporate all the entries of the Assassin's Creed. As Ubisoft's effort to suit Valhalla into the same world as the likes, Valhalla will profit by removing itself from the Creed sequence entirely. As Ubisoft's effort to fit Valhalla into the same world as the likes of Origins and Odyssey seems like a hindrance to this Viking RPG, Valhalla will profit from removing itself from the Creed series entirely.

So, I bought AC Valhalla on release day because it combined 2 things that I adore: AC and Norse mythology. I do have to say that of the three newer AC games (Valhalla, Odyssey and Origins), Odyssey and Valhalla are my favorites. I loved the concept of capturing zones by choosing to fight for the Romans or the Greeks in Odyssey, but I love being able to choose who to create alliances with and go and raid and plunder churches in Valhalla. I do have to say that I prefer the environment in Odyssey, but I feel like Valhalla has more depth in terms of gameplay. You can even build and customize your settlement! In terms of characters, I prefer Eivor much more than the ones in Odyssey. I also really love some of the small things in Valhalla, like throwing torches on houses whilst raiding and seeing the houses slowly turn to fire because the roof is made of hay and that the more you approach your objective while raiding, the sky reddens and blackens because of the smoke the fire causes. Finally, the story is much, much better in this game than Odyssey.

I can speak much more about this game, but all in all, visually, Odyssey wins unless we are talking about when you are playing as Odin in Valhalla (fuck me, that map is absolutely gorgeous and the feeling when you dive in the pool is fanfuckingtastic), Valhalla wins in terms of story and character and world complexity, Odyssey has better finishers, Valhalla has better weapons and slightly better combat.

I have played majority of the assassins creed games and this is one didn't disappoint, it had some bugs which were annoying but overall I really enjoyed this game. my personal favorite will always be black flag. odyssey was pretty good too. 

I have to say it took me a while to get into it but once I did I absolutely loved it.  I think Odyssey is still my favourite but the valhalla is stunning and loved the asgaard piece and more challenging loot.

I thought the ending was a bit 'meh' and I still don't think the present day characters add anything but on the whole, really good, about to give it a 2nd run through

I haven't played AC Valhalla myself, but it looks beautiful on next gen and PC. I plan trying it when the price drops down.

Got stuck on a part when I first bought it because their was a glitch and the thing was unfinishable.. haven't played it since. Heard they updated it but meh maybe another time lol

I loved the game. I put a good 130+ hours into it, and loved every minute of it. I loved certain characters, and then hated them later, only to love them again. It was less “assassiny” than other games, but honestly it added so much more to the established lore, that I can look beyond that. There is so much I can talk about with the game, but I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. So for your question, as a “real” AC fan (played all the games, read some comics and novels etc) I can say I love it, and it may very well be my favorite. 

I been playing AC valhalla some time now and still havent got jused to how different things are done here from other AC games, but its a good game  

I want to play but everytime I'm gonna buy I change my mind.

I stopped at Black Flag, I wanna play all the other ones before starting up Valhalla. That's gonna cost lots of time and I'm just too lazy

I enjoy it to a point. It's VERY redundant though. I haven't finished it due to the bugs and repetitiveness. I'll probably pick the game back up after I play some GTA V or something.

I really enjoyed it. I liked the story, liked some of the characters, thought they did a good job of differentiating the regions so it never felt like you were constantly in the same place (I wish  there was more Vinland). 

Yet, after finishing it, I don't have any desire to go back and play it again? Maybe that was just the result of me 100%ing the game? 

Personally, I think it was one of the top four or so games in the series (The rest of my top 4 would probably be AC: Brotherhood, AC: Black Flag, AC: Origins... in some order.)

I hate learning new games and trying to re-program my fine motor skills to the new button combinations.  Guess that's why I get hooked on a game, play it until I can't stand it, then walk away from the whole gaming platform for a period of time.  LOL  Might have to look into AC as the controller functions would be repetitive and easier to transition from one game to the next.  Food for thought.

Honestly these new games don’t feel like assassins creed to me they’re a new thing entirely that they re skin and release every year to get as much money as they can. But if you look at it as just a badass Viking game it’s a lot of fun. It has assassins creed elements but it’s much easier to get into if you didn’t like the old fighting style the game used to use in Brotherhood, Revelations, etc..

I haven't played it myself. But I heard it's a decent game.

Great game never got the chance to beat it fully, ran into a few bosses from Ragnar's camp they were all insanely strong.
