Sitting in his study in the Bricktown compound, NathanExplosion was hard at work preparing for more changes to come in Detroit. Just the other day, his dearest friend Cinnamon had taken the mantle of Godfather within the city, overseeing the district of Corktown. If all went well and the gods were good, Nathan himself would follow soon, and Azathoth not long after. He found himself easily distracted from his tasks at hand by memories of the past couple of months. Seventy-five days ago the Revolution began, and a new world order was ushered in. Nathan and many others had benefited greatly from the shift in power, and from his vantage point everything seemed roses. It had been a long journey, and not everyone he began it with was still here. He remembered the faces, too many to name, but too few to forget.

It seemed like the entire country was in a better place, the leaders were working together and the codes of conduct established post revolution had been upheld. The P word hadn't been uttered since, and Nathan knew that everyone involved was quite proud of that. There had been death of course, as is the way of this life, nothing lasts forever. But those deaths were significantly less than the ones before. Overall, Nathan thought the world was a better place.

Nathan made his way out of the study, wondering to himself if others felt the same way. After all, it was all well and good if he was happy, but what really mattered was the happiness of the people. They were all in this together, after all. He decided to head down to his trusty soapbox and found out.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the underworld, some seventy-five days ago we embarked on a journey together. A journey into better times and better business, so we hoped. The vast majority of this time period has been peaceful - there have been a few takedowns but we have not seen the full scale riot wars that can turn our thing on it's head. We have not seen killings without reason or witness tampering, any of that disgusting stuff the previous leadership did. On the whole, it has been good, from my point of view. By this time next week, our thing could have as many as four more godfathers, putting us at nine total. Before February that number could increase even further. This is somewhat unprecedented in recent times - rarely have we seen double digit godfathers in our thing of late. It speaks volumes to the commitment to peace and prosperity that we took on when we began this journey, and have adhered to since as much as possible.

I want to hear whether or not you, the people, think things have improved? I'd be willing to bet that the majority of my peers believe we are doing well, and I welcome hearing from other leaders, but my real goal here is to get some feedback from those who are not in leadership. How have we done? How could we improve? Do you think we are in a better state, country wide, than we were before?

Don't be afraid to speak your mind. I can't think of a single leader currently living who has come down on someone for speaking honestly in public. We want everyone to be free to express their opinions safely and without fear of repercussion, so long as they speak with respect.

"Don NathanExplosion, Thank you for coming to the streets to survey the communities opinion on how far we have come since the revolution. I wasn't around during the revolution, but my father was. He was one of the many survivors and told me some thousands of stories. From what I gathered from his stories and from my short life here in this thing of ours I can honestly, whole heartedly say that this community was saved. Simple as that.

The current regime has been nothing short of fantastic. Giving opportunities to those whose ancestors didn't get the chance to for whatever forsaken reason. The open dialog is also refreshing. Everyone is encouraged to speak their minds without the fear of retaliation. Everyone wants and needs a voice and the current city leaders have done so."

Joyner looks around then slowly digs his hand into his pocket to grab his lighter and his cigarette pack. He opens the pack and places a cigarette in his mouth. As it hangs out of his mouth, he says...

"Sir, would you like a smoke?"

Jimi took a step forward after hearing Joyner. Although he was  a man used to be in front of the public, he was not much of a public speaker. Usually he just sang and played, but on that occasion he decided to participate.

"Indeed, Don Nathan, thank you for bringing this up. I was talking about it with a friend the other day, about how prosperous is this era we are living in, and how lucky ad grateful we must be to all the brave men and women who took part in the so-called revolution. This world has changed, and it has changed for better, I got no doubt. As Mr. Lucas said, and I quote, the community was saved.

Our country is now, filled with quality leadership, in every corner of each of our cities. Any new person who decides to partake in this thing of ours is going to find themselves unsure about where to go, not because of fear or insecurity as it happened in the recent past, but because such good oportunities and options we have now.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved."

Jimi nodded, smiled briefly and took two steps away, giving space for others to speak.

As much as Indifference didn't give a shit, he usually was driven to caring for matters of idealistics in the Mafia Community.  He knew NathanExplosion well, and though his father died in the last purge before the revolution happened - it was easy for Indifference to choose what family he wanted to be in.  He loved heavy metal.  Maybe not as much as Nathan - but close.  

"Nathan, I think a true leader is driven by the feedback of the community.  I appreciate the fact that you have stepped out and asked - and I think that the very fact that you've chosen to do so clearly paints you as a good leader.  This thing of ours has its ups and downs.  My great¹⁵ grandfather - the original Indifference was named that because he was discouraged.  His father had died after a very unfavourable time in the mafia history books.  Things had been so bad for so long - that he didn't know if he really cared anymore.  But - he was given a chance and he was reinvigorated.  He had a good life.  While my lineage certainly doesn't trace back as far as a lot of people here - I've certainly seen enough to know what I stand for.  Words are cheap and we must all be judged by our actions more than our words.   Things aren't all sunshine and unicorns here, and we have businesses to tend to - But I think that the current leadership has done a wonderful job of operating things with transparency to the community and limiting the drama.  If there's only a few things to be done - I think that those are the ones that are at the top of the list.  My hat goes off to you all."

Indifference nods his head and grabs a fresh beer as he waits to see if any others have thoughts on the topic.

Vim Fuego the most metal person in all of Mafia Land history makes his way to the streets after hearing that poser NathanExplosion asking people about how good it is or some shit like that. Vim didnt care much about what was going on but there was no way some poser like Nathan Explosion  should be getting more recognition then him, Hell he was after all the lead singer lead guitarist leader of the most metal band in all mafia land Bad News and Nathan Explosion was lead singer of Dethklock there was after all no comparison.

Vim Strums his guitar letting out an ear piercing screech " Myyy name is Vim Fuegooooooo I am more metal then youuuu "

" Now as it stands a change is like a holiday they say the revolution was always going to happen it will be interesting to see what unfolds from here on but the revolutionarys should be atleast proud of what they did. Will this regime become what they hated? Will some people think its the same as the other? No doubt some will we always have the nay sayers and the pot stirrers other then that you will never be as metal as me"

I like what Vim_Fuego asked: will this regime become what they hated? I don't think they will, but just the takedowns that were mentioned show that there is a cycle in this land. Control transitions from hand to hand, group to group and that's a healthy dynamic. But at times we allow ourselves to hand that power to people who take it too far, do wrong with it. This is what requires revolutions to begin with.

From where I stand the current leadership does nothing wrong. But does it do enough to prevent things from going horribly wrong again, even if that may happen a few generations from now? It's more a responsibility of the common man, than from any leadership. But how can any of us recognise when our loyalty and trust is being abused? How can we find the bravery to act timely if we recognise this, even if standing up to evil may pose a risk to our own life? 

Can we invoke that collective sense of responsibility to not mess up again; regardless of who pulls the strings at a given time?

Rain had just met @Nathanxplosion when she went to the Guitars and Ganja headquarters to congratulate Cinnamon.   Her mother very rarely spoke to her about family business so all she was going by was what she read in the Dawn’s journals.

Good afternoon Don NathanExplosion.

My mother’s life was spare during that Revolution.  She remained truly grateful to those instrumental in guaranteeing her safety. She would be so proud of Godfather Kaya and @Godfather Chairman Lilith both reigned from Mobsters Mansion  in Chicago and I look forward to meeting them. @Godfather Cinnamon and soon Godfather NathanExplosion both are products of the Mobsters Manson.

Yes I am sad my mother couldn’t be here to experience the joy of your achievements and those to follow, but I am here to say her death was not in vain.

We chose this way of life and know peace don’t last always, good people will continue to die.  Looking forward if events that have transpired speak volumes to the commitment to peace and prosperity according to the Rules of the Land that that were established,  when we don’t adhered to them fully, rather only as much as possible, shit will always hit the fan.

So when you ask how we have done?  I haven’t been here long and only going by what people have told me and what I have read.  We are still a people who place no value on lives of hard working citizens whether we use the “p” word or not.  We are a people who will never truly abide by the Rules of the Land.  A few will continue to execute and slaughter their supposed to be constituents for the advancement of a few.  This is not the codes of conduct established post revolution being upheld.    History has taught us what the law of the land is and the new regime hasn’t proven otherwise.

I thank you for coming out and sharing your enthusiasm for this thing of ours. As long as I don’t get it twisted, this is the life I have chosen and remain optimistic that a life of crime is still more appealing than the corporate world.
