Just curious to see whether this group are committing to or indeed having any success keeping new year resolutions.
I'm looking at dropping some weight from the Christmas period(s) and so have embarked on a training plan
couple of 9km runs a week, couple of weight sessions and a couple of HIIT sessions
Anyone else have something they'd like to share - by the way, healthy meal/ training options are very welcome too!

| After 2020 I figured any attempt of positive change would happen this year. My goal is to grind the cash to pay off almost all my debt this year. Will probably end up adding to it in the later of the year, but it will even out hopefully to where I’m at now if not lower. | |

This year I'm hoping to move from my current house to a different house, look at things a bit more positively and just generally make sure to try stay smiling as much as possible |

Already broken... Dry January. This year I lasted a standard 8 days. I am however still attempting to restrict imbibing the amber nectar to just once a week. |

I've never once kept a New Years Resolution that I've made. I think often, it puts too much pressure on you to succeed and it's made at the wrong time. I've always had success when the change I've wanted to make is at a time when I know that fully (both mentally and physically) I'm ready to accept the challenges (and failures) that lie ahead. That often comes with thought, planning and preparation. I think that's why New Years Resolutions predominantly don't work. You have to be in the right head space to take on a change and often, New Years Resolutions only give you thought about doing it, not everything else - it's almost like the thought is the beginning of making the change, it could then take you another 3 months to actually decide you've got what it takes to go ahead and start putting the things in place or carrying the actions out that would promote the change you want to make. I think it should be called New Years Thought, instead of New Years Resolution :D ha-ha. |

Ha, my favorite topic to chat about throughout January. I think most coworkers are getting tired of me bringing it up. |

I'm still on going for my resolutions, although, maybe not the best so far :X Similar to mr Ghostbuster, I told myself I wanted to do more outdoor biking this year, I want to hit 2000 miles on Strava while biking, due to the weather/covid/etc, I probably won't start for another 2+ months :( I'm also of the variety that hates being inside 24/7. I just wanna go out and bike, canoe or whatever, then come home and chill on my computer. I guess I technically haven't lost my resolutions yet.. :c |

I never set a new year's resolution for my self. Not because I'm lazy because I am. But because I will never he disappointed in myself and whatever I do accomplish no matter what it is, it's an accomplishment. You gotta set the bar low people! |

My (late) New Years resolution is to no longer be addicted to this game. I know it won't happen though, I'm counting on it. |

Eh, I nearly never bother with "new years resolutions". I just do things. Like this year my wife and I made a plan to cut our spending to the bare minimum and pay off some accumulated debts as quickly as possible.
Pair the paying off with the savings were already doing, And with God's own luck, we'll be able to buy a house end of next year or early the year after |

I stopped making New Year's resolutions! They never stick so no sense in starting out the new year already behind the 8 ball. :) |

My New Years Resolution this year is completing at least 3 goals set for myself. I actually called it an achievement list which has attached prizes to it. |

My new year's resolutions were to stop eating pizzas by myself and also to stop sleeping at 5AM. I have only succeeded at one of these two things and I'll let you decide which one that is. |

I dont make New Year resolutions anymore. In your mind you do know what you want to achieve, but if you put it in a resolution it will turn into an obligation and that will stress you out. And then it fails. |

I always try to have a resolution all year long, not just one I start at new years. You always want to be improving in life. |
